One of the only USPS locations opened and available after 5 PM (closes at 7 PM on weekdays)! This is so beneficial for anyone working a typical 9-5 PM shift and that needs to mail something but never gets the opportunity to. Expect to have however, incredibly long lines with only 1 or 2 employees service their customers. Parking is readily available with ample spaces in a private lot. Be careful as there are many cars coming in and leaving the facility so I've witnessed a few accidents in the parking lot. read more

This may just be the smallest post office I've been to in Montgomery County. Fortunately there was only one person in front of me in line at 9:00 on a Tuesday. They have free priority envelopes and boxes. They also have regular packaging supplies, decorative shipping supplies, greeting cards, and gift cards available for purchase. The associate that helped me was a bit rude and impatient. I had trouble hearing her and she seemed irritated having to repeat herself. Unfortunately this is the closest location to my office, otherwise, I probably wouldn't come back. If I do need to in the future, I hope I get someone else. read more

8/14/20. I had ordered a Grove Ring Baltimore Ravens style, but when the ring came in, it wasn't what I expected. After a few days thinking about it, I dropped it off at my old post office while I was in Maryland. This is the new stomping ground of Sean Hardman who I have never met, but check out his reviews if you get a chance. This post office is where I had the chance to see the inner workings of the place. There is a sign that says "Everyday we prove them wrong." UPS said "The United States Postal Service wouldn't make it a day. Gotta hand it to The United States Postal Service even during these hard times. I don't send any letters now adays to beautiful women, but when one does get a letter on the mail that isn't a bill, it feels really good. Keep up the good work USPS. read more

Why do I drive 20 min to this post office when I live 5 min from another? The services are the same , the prices are the same, the lines are pretty similar. I make the extra drive because even when dealing with a diverse group of grumpy customers who feel entitled to receive immediate service for services they don't understand (the ability to send almost anything from point A to point B securely does require structure and rules), the folks behind the counter are patient and friendly. This is not a slam at other very fine efficient post offices but smiling while deciphering an impatient customer's demands then not letting the customer's unreasonableness spill onto next person in line is worth the drive. One the one hand they're "just doing their job" but the how sometimes matters more than the what. read more

The only reason I'm leaving one star is because the lady was nice but the tracking on this was totally unreasonable. I asked for overnight shipping they told me because it was Friday it would not get there until Monday. But with priority they said it will get there by Monday for sure so I paid $10 and they promised me we get there until Monday while I tracked it on Monday and it went from Maryland to Virginia and the destination was in Virginia, and went to Virginia, stayed in Virginia, and then I thought it was going to go to its destination in Virginia. They decided to send it to New Jersey to sit there for three days and then go back to Virginia on Wednesday. It took five days I will never ever send anything with the US post office? It does not make sense why it left its destination state and go to another state and sit for three days and then go back to its destination state I want my money back and I will never deal with the US post office again. Week before Christmas with a line literally out the door = 1 person working on the counter (and she couldn't care less). Second person asking a line full of people if they want to buy stamps, but she couldn't weigh anything so that didn't help either. Bunch of other employees came out, looked at the line, and snuck back into the back rooms. Guy behind me actually couldn't take it any more and left after 40 minutes. Wish I had followed. I will gladly pay more to take my parcels to UPS so that I never have to deal with this mess ever again. read more

The only post office in the area to open early and close late - I just wish they would offer Saturday hours as well. Going to any post office is always hit or miss, as far as customer service. I'm not sure why that is - maybe as the Newman character on Seinfeld says, the mail keeps piling up no matter how fast they get it out. The pressure and relatively low pay can get to you, I suppose. You would think there would be less mail to deal with, since many people text and email. But there is still a lot of mail, and budget cuts seem to affect the number of clerks at any given office. Most of the clerks here are knowledgeable and courteous, but there is always one or two who are rude. It stays open weekdays until 7 p.m., which is a plus. Lines are usually long, but there is a self-service kiosk if you aren't sending anything too complicated. read more

The worst experience I've ever had, literally left in tears. The woman worker ( can't call her a lady or a customer service rep because she is none of the above) yelled at me that she's not sending my package, called me a liar and after I opened already sealed box and proved to the manager that there're no restricted items inside they had to process it. No "sorry", no apology. After I told her that I don't appreciate her attacking me and calling me names she just brushed it off with a smirk and a shrug like "whatever, talk to the hand". When she saw me talking to the manager about what just happened , she was giggling and heckling me. I can't even believe that this level of customer service exist anywhere, how is this even possible. This is harassment, this is unacceptable. There should be a wall of shame somewhere for employees like that imbecile whatever her name is. read more

Worst Post office EVER. I went there because my favorite post office in Germantown was closed at 5 and this pst office closes at 7pm which looks promising for my last minute mailing... I would give a zero star to this place Why? 2 reasons 1) Always see one person working there while one person standing doing nothing and greeting the walk-in customers. Lines takes forever! 2) Unnecessary and intrusive inspection. I was pushing a cartful of 21 packages containing books for shipping out to my customers. I asked for Media Mail for my books, the postwoman said she will have to stamped each of my 21 packages "To be inspected". I asked her why since my Gaithersburg post office do not do this for my previous mailings of 1,000 books that I have mailed in last 30 days. She said " I'm sorry but this post office is required to hand stamp 'To be Inspected' on each media mail postage" Which means that my careful packaging of books would be subjected to unnecessary opening and upsetting the quality of packaging I have given to each shipment??! NO THANKS! I would rather go back to my Germantown Post Office next day than to have my 21 books ruined by unnecessary inspections. Bad place for business owner like me to go there. Don't go there if you like to wait a long time and slow service. Different set of rules unheard at other postal places I have went in the past with my packages. read more

This is not the closest post office to my home but it does have a couple of advantages. It has evening and early morning hours, it has driveby mailboxes reachable from your car window, and it is a distribution center. Being a distribution center means it will almost always deliver mail in the tri-state area overnight. The lines for package drop can be long and they do have a machine if you know how to use it that can save you time. When the lines get long, they have an employee whose job it is to ask the folks standing in line what their intentions are. s/he will direct you to the best option and the right paperwork. I have gotten really bad advice from a trainee. It was an international package. I should have perhaps asked for a non-trainee when I sensed her uneasiness. read more

I tried to give this location the benefit of the doubt, but unfortunately I didn't have the same idyllic experience as others. My last experience sums up the three. Nonsmiling counter postal worker with 15 people in line averaging 6-8 mins per person. I'm 12th in line the math on that is against me so I would say if it's the busy season think about the strategy of managing multitasking customers and supply the needed personnel to get the work done. read more

The woman that answered this number told me it is not a post office and insisted it was a finance center. She also informed me that there is a drop off box. Long story short... my package seems to have vanished at this point, without a trace or indication that it was ever received by the post office. Has an APC & open 7:30am-7pm on weekdays. Seems to be the only one in the area with extended hours and an APC.

This location always seems to be busy and have a line. For the most part, the workers are friendly--some more than others. During the holiday season, they have an employee that floats around to answer and questions and scan any packages that already have labels. read more
