Class of 2025 student here (Junior as of writing this review)…read more Academics are rigorous but fair. The teacher quality is varied, but most teachers (I took mostly AP and Honors) are fair and motivated. Student organizations (clubs, teams, ASB) vary, some being well organized, and some being poorly organized (it's just what happens when you put students in charge of something). School events are nice too, HOCO and Prom are overly expensive though (Rowland has their homecoming for ONLY $20, ours was ~$80) The staff are helpful, I went to the office 15+ times in Sophomore year because my mom sent me to school with the flu, and the cold. The office administration were understanding and dealt with all situations well. Counselors are helpful. Fights rarely break out. School is a mix between two majority races - Hispanic and Asian. Security does their job well, and the school has procedures in case of emergency. In the 2022-23 school year, a false shooter call forced the school to lockdown procedures. This situation was rapidly taken care of. Not gonna lie, our sports teams aren't the best (except Badminton, they're really good). The STEM pathways in the school are great. School lunch improved drastically in the last few years (it's also free). Would give a 5 star but our campus isn't in optimal shape. Restrooms smell terrible. The bottom floor boys restroom had its stall door stolen as a result of the "devious lick" trend in 2021. The boys restroom up stairs always smells like weed and raspberries (vapes).

It's currently 12 AM, May 21st, 2026. The last day of middle school. I have been at this school for…read more9 years, and it's sad that today is the last day of being a cedarlane thunderbird. I don't get the bad reviews of this place. I really don't. Yes, I remember getting called racial slurs during my early years, but that eventually stopped. The people here are awesome. And I don't mean just the students, but the staff too. I have never seen a school like this one where the staff get along so nicely. It seems like they have known each other their entire lives (No glaze). But, I'm going to talk more than just about the people and actual school. I want to talk about the memories I've made here. I still remember the last day of 5th grade. It was hard. I didn't want to have no recess and I thought lunch was going to suck. But guess what, it didn't. You know why? It's because of the people I've met. The strangers I met on the first day of onboarding, ended up becoming the friends I talk to everyday. The campus was also confusing. I know I said I've been here for 9 years, but finding where my teachers classrooms were was still hard. Fast forward, I'm here today. And I'm sad. Not even happy. Just sad. I don't want to leave this place. I used to hate school, Seriously. I made up excuses to skip school but middle school made me think differently. Even on the days I didn't feel my best, I still came. And thank goodness I did because I know how much value each memory and moment held. Especially my 8th grade year. And looking back, I don't regret any single mistake or choice I had done because it made me the man I am today. Middle school didn't just teach me about math or english or science. It teaches us life lessons. Lessons we will continue to use for the rest of our lives. Those times we made friends, taught us to socialize and respect one another. I may not want to leave, but I know it must be done. If we are stuck in the past, we will only suffer more. "The train of life only moves in one direction. And that is forward". My time here is ending now. And I wish that I had that button to experience it all for one last time. Just know to my friends and teachers that you mean so much to me. Thank you Cedarlane for the memories You are changing the world -Anderson Oh Cedarlane 8th Grade Class of 2026

Classes are from monday through friday 8am-2pm (if i remember correctly) which is heaven compared to education in other countries like say asia which is a full time job imo back then classes were pretty boring not very teacher student interactive and honestly i didnt learn anything (i learned more in elementary school and junior high than high school which to me is just for show to get into college). You get 5 or 6 classes (sometimes 7 classes for those honor AP students) so youre basically running from class to class which is difficult for shy kids (ok me) to make any real substantial friends not to mention i didnt even know high school counselors were a thing (wish they advertised that its your job right to help students who need it). wish classes were more fun and interactive actually useful that you could use later in life. the american public high school education system could use an update like teach fun classes like psychology even astrology, kids are old enough to understand even relate. other than that im not complaining. i still rather attend school in america than asia where everything is a competition since day one.

Track…read more I love this track. I didn't want to write a review in fears you all would want to come and run here too. I wouldn't suggest it as there are wild animals that can sneak up on you. You can die, so don't come. Anyhow, this has been one of the best tracks I've had the pleasure of jogging in. Beautifully maintained and never over populated with those things called people. The surrounding scenery is calming. A bit of a scenic feel, but not far from home. Open M-F 6ish AM to 7ish PM. Luckily if I decide to come or leave before what is considered permitted hours...I can sneak in through an area that I refuse to disclose. If you find yourself in need of a good jog, look elsewhere, please. (Hacienda hiking trail is walking distance) Thanks XOXO B

Parents please make sure your children are receiving their full lunch!! I was told by my daughter…read morethat lunch personnel were telling her she owed money and were taking her lunch away. I was pretty upset since I went with autopay to avoid her receiving an alternate lunch last year. I went to myschoolbucks to find out what happened. I added $35 to the already $10 i already had. Today i went to school and find out why was her food taken away, they stated they have a new system but that they werent giving alternate lunches. I went and asked my daughter again and in presence of her teacher once again she stated that the lunch ladies not the students were taking her lunch away. She stated that her peanut butter and jelly was taken away only to eat corn and juice!! This is BS!! I went on autopay to avoid this.... how can someone have the heart to take a childs lunch away. I also dont understand how they can tell the student they owe money when in all honesty can be embarrassing for the student in front of their friends. Even worse when they have funds. Apparently students are not to be told that they owe money according to the district, but guess what it is, thats how I found out!! This is BS and breaks my heart that my daughter is going through this... come on corn and juice!! My daughter was almost in tears when the teacher and i asked her about what she eats during lunch!! This is unacceptable and should be addressed immediately!! I'm still to receive a call from Emmalyn Coles regarding this, i called twice second time leaving a voicemail. After to scholl personnel this isn't the first incident, parents need to ask their children it is happening often and ita NOT RIGHT!! I expect a formal apology for My daughter and I. It just brings to tears just to imagine food out if my daughtera plate and leaving her to eat corn and juice!! What if it was your daughter????

My experience at this school has been honestly frustrating and disappointing. The environment feels…read moremore stressful than supportive, and it often seems like students are expected to just deal with problems instead of actually getting help. One of the biggest issues is how disorganized everything is. Important information is either given last minute or not clearly explained at all, which makes it harder to stay on top of assignments and expectations. It feels like students are blamed for things that aren't fully communicated in the first place. The teaching quality is also really inconsistent. Some teachers care and try, but others seem uninterested or don't explain things well, leaving students confused and stuck teaching themselves. When you ask for help, it can feel like you're just brushed off instead of actually supported. The rules can also feel unfair or overly strict, especially when they're enforced differently depending on the student. It creates a sense that things aren't equal, which makes it harder to feel respected or motivated. Overall, this school doesn't feel like a place that prioritizes student success or well-being. Instead of helping students grow, it often just adds stress and frustration to an already difficult experience.

She got suspended for defending herself. There is a video of her getting first and no one broke up the fight. Even when she tried to end the fight the other girl CONTINUED to hit her. Now, she's scared to attend school and she no longer feels safe.

There is one teacher who really appears to bond just a little better than the other. Not sure what his name is but as the kids where walking up to get their promotional certificates for graduation yesterday 6/4/25 he did special gestures with each and everyone of his students which was a treat to watch. Thank you to that awesome teacher! My biggest complaint was that the promotion was exceptionally long! I attended a college graduation and a HS graduation both within these last 3 weeks and this 8 grade promotion by far was the longest! Maybe if the principal hadn't gone on and on and talked so much it would have made it much shorter and more enjoyable. The video at the end was absolutely great and as each one signed off made it even more special. This is the second promotion I have attended for this school. Maybe next year make it more about the kids and not the principal and shorten it. Congratulations to class of 2025! Go little sharks and become big sharks!

Unfortunately, our overall impression of the school and several other staff members was disappointing. One experience that really stood out involved a teacher named Esther, who teaches the 4-5-year-old class. While she may appear friendly at first, our experience with her was very different. One morning, my wife was holding the security gate open for an elderly grandfather who was walking into the preschool. Instead of appreciating the situation, Esther immediately yelled at my wife to close the gate and began lecturing her. Even after my wife explained that she was simply helping an elderly person enter safely, Esther continued to scold her and insisted that the grandfather could open the gate himself. We found her response unnecessarily harsh and lacking basic compassion and professionalism. Another concern was the school's annual Jogathon fundraiser. Families are encouraged to donate money, and children who participate receive a special T-shirt. Staff members then visit the classrooms to celebrate with those children by handing out small toys and snacks. We chose not to participate because we already pay significant tuition and did not feel obligated to make an additional donation. Later, the school sent parents a video of the celebration. Watching it was heartbreaking. My daughter was one of the children without the fundraiser shirt, and she was left standing in the back while the other children celebrated together. She was essentially separated from the group because we didn't donate. Regardless of the purpose of the fundraiser, I don't believe young children should ever be singled out or excluded based on whether their parents contribute financially. The children have no control over those decisions, and schools should make every effort to ensure all students feel included. I'm glad we ultimately decided to move our daughter to another school. While we appreciated her classroom teacher, our overall experience left us disappointed, and I would not recommend this preschool based on what our family experienced.
