Having your window pop and shatter suddenly without cause is a startling experience but what is more shocking is the absolute horrible customer service and blatant disregard for their warranty and care for the customer. And that is what sold us on this company. We have had one of the 2 shattered windows replaced but it took around 6 months to get it done. And this one that is still broken and waiting to be replaced... we have been waiting nearly a year and can't get a call back or an update. To add to the troubles, the initial install ended up being awful. It looked great for a bit but all the windows have gaps and dirt and air pass through and they are a MESS!!! Mike from Nex-Gen came and walked through everything and agreed the installation was not good. And he promised to get the replacement in quickly for the broken window and would fix all these install issues and wrote everything down and apologize but, that was nearly 5 months ago and we have called and have gotten NO response. My husband calls the company and NOTHING is ever done. We don't even get a phone call back, they say they are checking on the order and will get back to us. Good thing we don't hold our breath. This so called lifetime warranty is a joke! It is only good IF the company actually calls back and actually follows through. And what is so maddening, the warranty and good customer service is what sold us. Talk about bait and switch. read more

Good stuff: Pleased with quality of installation and concern for some difficult installs. Bad stuff: 1. Talked with the salesperson about signing the contract in February, but because of planned travel, we did not want the windows installed until September. They said no problem to that. But a month after the contract was signed, they called us and said windows must be installed within 21 days or they would charge me an additional $600 storage fee (1.5%). So readjusted schedules to accomodate. They said they could not honor the original agreement. 2. The contract called for siding to be replaced around all the windows. New siding looks same as old siding from a short distance. But 2 weeks after install was "complete", found 22% of the windows did not have the siding replaced. Was another 10 days later before they actually finished the job. I believe they want to make customer happy, but they fell short multiple times. I would CONSIDER them in the future, but no slam dunk. read more

A couple of years ago we were needing to have some (17) windows and a door/screen door combination replaced. We researched product lines, quality of products, craftsmanship and customer service. He didn't try to sell us on products just to make a sale but sat down with us and discussed what our options might be. We felt very comfortable and confident that Ted and Nex-Gen had our wants/wishes in mind concerning the work we would like to have done. Called to discuss getting an estimate to replace two doors in our home. They refused to come meet with me unless my husband was present because they assumed he would be the "decision maker." Gross and sexist. My husband was standing right there while I was on the phone and wanted to call them back to yell at them but I felt like that would play into their man in charge fantasy so asked him not to. The vinyl windows in our townhouse were 20 years old and showing signs of their age. We contacted several companies for bids. Some of the presentations were really long. We really appreciated Ted's selling style of letting the product speak for itself. He didn't waste our time. His pitch was informative and very low pressure. I replaced the majority of my windows and a patio door. I chose Nex-Gen because of the quality and warranty on the windows. Everyone from sales to installation was great to work with. In May of this year we had five windows and a sliding glass door replaced by Nex-Gen Exteriors. The Marvin windows are amazing. With the LOe glass and gas filled air space between glass panes the efficiency is immediately noticedable. The quality of the window itself is fantastic. I used to work for a window manufacturer years ago. I have a pretty good idea of what to look for. These Marvin windows are quality, well built windows. As for Nex-Gen of Loveland: I want to say this to attest to the legitimacy and customer service response of Brent, the owner, and the integrity shown by Nex Gen as a company. There was an "issue" with the installer who came to our house. At the end of the first day all was fairly well. But the next day something had arisen to combine with the first day to prompt me to call Brent and let him know what had happened. Immediately Brent stepped up, took over our install, and rectified the situation without hesitation. I do not want this to reflect poorly on Nex Gen. In fact, this reflects very highly on them. No one is perfect. Sometimes things just happen, etc... It's not so much the action of an individual employee, it's the action of the company once made aware of a situation and how they handle it. Brent and Nex Gen handled it above and beyond expectation. I would say that they provided us the best customer service experience perhaps ever. Why? because of how they rectified a concern that we had. No questions asked. They were on it. I had a terrible experience with this company. We were referred by a friend, and Ted, the salesperson, came to our house to talk about replacing 14 windows. He showed us a double hung window, with about a 2 and a half inch frame, and quoted us a price of just over ten thousand dollars. After getting quotes from other companies, Next Gen was the cheapest, and this all seemed fine, so we went ahead and purchased. Then the windows showed up. The frames were 4 and a half inches wide!! We lost a TON of glass space and a TON of light getting these windows. The size of the bathroom window, for example, was cut by about a third--it's teeny! Moreover, the installers, while really nice guys, did not wash my windows, leaving sawdust, fingerprints, and other stuff all over the glass, and left quite a bit of metal and glass pieces all over my yard. I was nauseatingly unhappy and called Ted to let him know. When Ted showed up, he raved and raved about how wonderful the windows and the installation were and would not stop talking until I literally told him quite firmly to stop talking and listen to why I was so unhappy. We asked him to bring the window he showed us when he sold us the windows and pointed out the difference in the frame size. He explained that the nature of the slider windows we ordered was different from the double hung windows he showed us, and that the over 4 inch frame was necessary for the quality of the windows. We explained that had we known the sliders had such wide frames we never would have purchased them. He then went on to claim that if we had gone with another company we would have been "throwing money away" on utility bills (a claim I don't think is true). He was unbelievably arrogant and completely sure he knew better than I did what windows were right for me. I explained, firmly again, that my utility bills were my decision, not his, and that perhaps Next Gen was not the right company for us to have purchased from. He apologized, but it ended there. It's been 2 months and I'm barely getting to where I don't get nauseous looking out my windows. I am very angry at and disappointed in Next Gen and in our salesperson, Ted. If you choose to purchase windows from this company, be very, very clear about what you are getting. If you deal with Ted, know that your salesperson is likely to think he knows what you want more than you do. Now I'm stuck with 10 thousand dollars of buyer's regret that I have to look out of every day and it just makes me sick. read more

My wife and I did many hours of research looking for the right replacement windows for our home. We finally selected the Ultrex product and Nexgen as our installer.
