This came after receiving multiple confirmation emails and text messages stating the appointment was confirmed, my insurance was verified, the provider was in-network, paperwork was completed, and my credit card was already on file. After all of those assurances, being told at the very last minute that the appointment wasn't happening was completely unprofessional and unacceptable.

The man believes as long as the person says I am sorry, you forgive the person and that's that.. That problem is all fixed it just goes away and everybody's good to go! WTF, He never gets to why the person is doing it why they're repeating themselves in life and they keep doing what they've been doing he doesn't care about that he doesn't want to fix. He would lose a patient then right! I have never come across such harmful thinking, advice and behavior. I was appalled to say the least!

Terrible Experience…read more I recently went through a medical crisis and was looking for someone to work with to deal with the anger/grief associated with some physical changes/losses I have experienced. This experience was negative from start to finish and a complete waste of my time. Scheduling session. Counselor is a terrible mouth breather and sounds reminiscent of Darth Vader on the telephone. He speaks too loudly and breathes even louder. He would not schedule an appointment without knowing what I wanted to be seen for. Isn't that the point of the intake? The door was locked when I arrived at the address provided. There was no name or identifying information on the door. When I called to see whether I had the correct location information, I was told "you're early" and had to stand outside for 5 minutes before I was admitted. I wasn't even sure if he was on-site yet when I called him. I really wouldn't think that arriving 10 minutes prior to a scheduled appointment is inappropriate, given I was told I had to fill out paperwork upon arrival/prior to the session. You would think that a professional would be waiting by the door and watching for a new client or leave them a note, etc. if in session with a client given there was nothing there to indicate I was in the correct office location. Nope. Intake paperwork was very negative in tone. Given I have been fortunate to be able to access counseling services through my Employee Assistance Program for the past 20 years, I know that his intake was not typical, nor appropriate (i.e. "I would ask that you not take offense to such questioning", "feedback is not criticism or judgement", etc.). He then goes on to state that "I do not provide consultations with attorneys, court appointed custody evaluators, probation or parole officers, or other officers of the court with regards to counseling services I provide" and then has you sign a fee schedule that states "if David Michael Boarman is subpoenaed to testify in any court proceedings, legal hearing, custody evaluation, or any other proceedings relating to my counseling services, I am responsible for reimbursing ... $350 per hour plus travel time." Can we say inconsistent? Counseling room was tiny, dark, dingy, and the furniture was in terrible shape. I have to assume that the couch below the massive quilt thrown haphazardly across it was disgusting. I couldn't see it but I was not sure I should sit in it. There was no other place to sit so I had to sit there - reluctantly. It was very low and difficult to get up from for someone with motor and/or physical impairments. I'd also like to know how that couch/cover is cleaned between clients... Counselor is hard of hearing - requiring me to repeat myself multiple times which certainly inhibits the flow of information (i.e. "I went from having a 45 year old to an 80 year old back" to which he responded "You have an 8 year old son?". Really? When he did heard me, he did not LISTEN to what I was saying. He put words in my mouth and rephrased what I was saying inaccurately multiple times - so I had to correct him and restate the information and my opinions for the record. I had a very specific topic/objective for my session. To identify coping strategies and to work through my grief related to my medical crisis. We are allotted 8 sessions per year. He asked about 4 questions about my goals and then launched into a series of questions related to my childhood, every relationship I've ever had, the reason that I'm single, etc. All irrelevant. I did not expect to waste precious time revisiting the womb to deal with very real and present-day issues I an facing. I would not recommend this counselor to anyone. I saw zero engagement and no compassion from him. He provided no solutions or strategies and after 30 minutes of putting words in my mouth and having to restate my position, I walked out. I do not have the time or patience to have my time wasted.

Her knowledge of mental health, Reiki, and metaphysics are impressive. Cynthia uses a variety of techniques, which I appreciated. At the end of each session, she had me select an essential oil to put on. For hours afterward, I could smell that scent and felt so much more relaxed and centered. I intend to do more sessions with her as soon as my time is freed up a bit.

Actually both of my parents had received coaching from Josefa years before me, and it helped them immensely. When I began my journey with her I wasn't sure what to expect, but it has had a significant impact on my healing journey. About a year after I began coaching sessions, my wife started going also. What Jess brings to the table is something more, which was a genuine concern for my child. On one of our conversatios she said " I went on this run and I was thinking about"... she was thinking about my kid and how to help. She made me feel like we ( we because as parents, things that affect our kids affect us) were "seen." I think more often than not people get complacent in their careers, including the medical or mental health field, which I would chalk up to human nature. However, she never made me feel like my kid was number or just another patient. She was someone going through something and Jess was going to figure it out. We had to stop seeing Jess due to some circumstances out of my control. Which only lead us to a merry go round of therapists and it wasn't until then, that I was able to fully appreciate her, not only for her emotional investment in my child but also for her instincts, which were proven to be spot on. While on that mental health merry go round, I learned that not every therapist has the capability to convey a genuine sense of commitment and concern for their client/patient , however Jess did. Taking on someone else's emotional pain, trauma, anxieties and fears has to be one of the hardest jobs I could imagine, especially when it comes to children...so I can understand having and internal shut off valve and not fault anyone needing to enact that protective mechanism. But as a parent who's child hurts....I sure as shit want someone who sees my kid, as I see them. Once again I saw Jess early in her career. Not only do I magine that she has gotten better with time but I imagine now that she has her own practice, she chooses people who values their clients as much as she does. ...I did recently refer someone here and they had positive reviews about Jess, Teena and the facility.

My family member explained this multiple times, but Olubukola Komolafe kept arguing about it for several minutes and was getting increasingly aggressive about it. My family member, who was seeking treatment for anxiety among other things, got a panic attack and had to walk out. Just bizarre unethical behavior. I came here looking for someone to manage my adult adhd. During my intake we discussed what I was…read moreon (two forms of stimulant, one short acting one longer acting, to kickstart the time period before the long acting becomes active) - and she told me she would not provide two forms of adhd medication, even though it was what is right for me and I've been on forever, due to guidelines and me not having filled the short acting in the last 30 days (I had some from a dose change so I was trying to avoid filling meds before I was out, so it was over 30 days but not over 60). She preferred to switch me to a medication she had never prescribed before or make me suffer with inadequate coverage. She sent my prescription to the wrong pharmacy in error and when I asked her to send the script to the right pharmacy she told me it could not be called back, which was a lie as it's been done for me before by other providers. The pharmacy she sent my script to is the worst in town and I was unable to get the script filled in a timely fashion leading to missed medication and impact at work and at home. She made statements about how guanfacine and intuiv are not identical in the body (some metaphor about egg and oil) - she's not up to date on the most current research and she does not understand the ADHD experience. I don't think she sees patients as people, or at least did not felt seen as a person. I found the meeting disappointing and caused more stress than help and found someone else who is more qualified to manage my meds. The one thing she was really all about while we were meeting was getting paid, she really wanted to get that part done. She refused to do telemed even though the commute for me is 3+ hours from my primary home to do a in person appointment. Unfortunately, my insurance covered more than expected and she ended up owing me. When I got the EOB I reached out and asked for repayment; it took reminding them about the possibility of chargeback to get my refund. Absolutely 100% do not recommend, please check out CHADD, ADDITUDE, or goodtherapy for someone who specializes in ADHD if you need that treatment, I do not know her well enough to know if she is good at anything but I can testify to her being inadequate to treat ADHD.
