This church is really good at getting in touch with a younger audience. It has a live band on stage and a really large children's congregation. It isn't a specific type of church and as such makes it easy for most Christians to check it out. They have a lot of events and trips and always have something going on over the summer. My feelings about Next City Church are complicated, and that is exactly why this review is difficult to write. There are genuinely wonderful people in this congregation. Warm people. Loving people. People who encouraged me, welcomed me, and treated me with real kindness. I do not regret meeting them, and I will not pretend that every part of my experience was negative simply because I am disappointed now. The church also supports missions around the world and raises money for charitable work. The pastor has always been kind to me in person. I want to make that clear because this is not about inventing villains. It is about telling the truth, even when the truth is uncomfortable. My problem is with the religious culture promoted by the leadership. During my time at Next City Church, I repeatedly encountered an attitude that felt cliquish, insular, and dismissive toward anyone whose beliefs fell outside its particular evangelical framework. That included other religions, other Christian traditions, and Catholicism in particular. I personally heard one pastor refer to Catholics as "Pharisees." That comment stayed with me because it revealed something deeper than a simple doctrinal disagreement. A pastor has every right to disagree with Catholic teaching. What he should not expect to do without being challenged is reduce an entire Christian tradition and millions of believers to a cheap insult while acting as though his own small theological circle has a monopoly on truth. Here is the irony: the criticism of Catholicism did not drive me away from it. It made me curious. I decided to investigate Catholicism for myself instead of accepting someone else's caricature. What I found was not the hollow, legalistic religion I had been warned about. I found extraordinary historical, theological, intellectual, liturgical, and spiritual depth. I found a faith rooted in centuries of serious thought, worship, sacrifice, tradition, and reflection. I am now participating in the Order of Christian Initiation of Adults. And I will be completely honest: my Catholic experience has been better by orders of magnitude. The contrast is not subtle. It is enormous. I have found richer worship, a deeper connection to Christian history, a serious sacramental life, greater room for reflection and difficult questions, and a broader ecumenical spirit. I have encountered far more willingness to recognize sincerity, truth, and human dignity beyond one narrow theological boundary. I did not leave Next City Church because the congregation lacked good people. The congregation contains some of the kindest and most wonderful people I have had the pleasure of meeting. I became disillusioned because the leadership's religious worldview felt smaller than the hearts of the people it was supposed to guide. Charitable work matters. Personal kindness matters. Missions matter. But none of those things erase the intolerance, condescension, and dismissive attitudes I encountered toward Catholicism, other Christian traditions, and religions outside evangelical Christianity. My one-star rating is based on that painful contradiction: a congregation capable of tremendous warmth and a church involved in meaningful charitable work, but a leadership culture that I experienced as cliquish, religiously insular, and far too comfortable passing judgment on spiritual traditions it did not appear willing to understand. read more

It was okay, just not my style. I've come on three different occasions to see if maybe it was just a coincidence that every week they spend 1/2 hour during the actual Sunday service telling people what they can contribute money toward. I mean every church needs money and it's the pastors job to get it, and it's a stressful job, I just don't want to spend 1/2 hour every Sunday listening to a sales point. At least there was a sermon this time. Last time it was just about building up the church the entire two hours and how everyone needed to bring one person. I guess thats why my friend brought me. I wasnt thrilled that that was why she brought me. It was cultish to do that. I'm not pentecostal and maybe all pentecostal pastors preach with enthusiasm but this one was definitely enthusiastic. My brain was distracted by the volume and I had to really concentrate on what he was saying. I have PTSD and one of the things I like about church is that they're not overly noisy. There was loud music coming up through the floor from the youth service and a loud, enthusiastic pastor. I'm good for the enthusiasm but pass on the loud. The sermon was ok. He talked about his own marriage not in a good way, how every marriage goes through strains and his was in one so one day at a time. And compared children to planes which was actually a good comparison but his comparison lacked depth, he then went on to several other topics. I would have been happy with an expansion on marriages and children. Really comparing them with planes and the business of the airport and how travel has moments of stress, not just surface stuff. In my church we had a leader whose comparisons were so deep and so thought filled, you left with a wow feeling. He passed on and I miss him. Ive found very few people have this talent. He once compared life to folding a dollar bill in a way that was mind blowing. A full 1/2 hour we were all riveted to his story of this dollar bill and where the next fold would bring us. Overall I'd say this church is for you if you like upbeat sermons and don't mind long solicitations. They do sing songy prayers that dont stop to focus. It would have been nice to stop, bow our heads and actually pray in spoken repeated words for something besides basic prosperity. We didn't. I also got stuck next to a woman who yelled Amen constantly at weird moments. I mean they were her moments to have but she kept distracting my brain. Most people yell Amen a few times, I think she broke a worlds record. She yelled Amen in the middle of sentences. As with other organized religions, women are not ordained leaders. It's 2023 and the misogyny continues in this country. But good luck finding a church that doesnt practice misogyny. Children here have a lot of chance for fellowship and there are a lot of groups. I would say check it out for yourself. I have to keep looking. 2.5 hours is too much for me unless I'm riveted. The music was awesome, that's a given. Iy was a live band and the congregants swayed. Of course today we did silence at the end instead of music. I was looking forward to the music at the end. Figures. Music is my way of connection, it calms my brain. I had to leave after 2.5 hours, there may have been music after I left. Church is individual, check it out for yourself. Everyone has different needs. I have a few friends who would like this style of service. read more

Great modern look and use of technology to advance the service. Wonderful use of lights to leave beautiful accents in the rich wood decorating its interior. They also have a online live streaming of all their services. Very friendly and giving people in this church. There is a live band, song lyrics are played across their large screens so everyone could sing along. Very diverse in people and comfortable for all ages. Pastor Dom is a electrifying man who creates excitement through his words and give you a new prospective on life. This church has been my home for over 6 years! From the very first time, i've always felt welcomed. Pastor Dom is the truth, bringing the word with an anointing grace that only he can, as he opens himself up to receive from the Holy Spirit. We laugh, we joke, we fellowship together but most of all, we are blessed to hear the truth every time, no sugar coated stuff. Jesus is awesome,and you will meet 2 awesome people "PD" and " PK ",Don't ask me who,just show up,you will know :) i got baptized there and i agree with the AG views among the Pentecostal denomination .i also like non-denomination churches ,but i think it's the most actuate view which should be mostly close to the Truth if you still wanna keep a denomination in Protestant belief .No matter what you choose,this is a place you will not gonna miss it,what cares for Christians,only one things remains,that's JESUS! Just to share, if you have younger kids between the ages of infants,toddlers,teenagers, young adults,adults,elderly etc. Men or women we definitely have a well rounded accepting, loving encouraging, group for you! My experience with this church has been exceptionally better than I expected. I love the live experience as well as the online experience. Although, I must say, the live experience is my preference. Pastor Dom has a God-given gift, there is not one service where I am not moved by his words, teachings of the Word of God, and encouragement. He embraces the Word of God wholeheartedly and helps you feel whole with God. I, for one, have never been so moved by my previous church experiences and this church has lifted my spirit and strengthened my faith. I encourage everyone that is in between churches, looking to strengthen their faith, find their way back to The Lord, or looking for one church that makes you feel welcome and loved by God to go to this one (and even if you are just curious to brighten your spirit and soul- go to this Church.) Thank God for Bellerose! The moment you walk in, you just feel like family. Great worship Team, great Kids Church and Nursery! The Youth Group is exceptional! There is something there for everyone in the family. Sunday services are just life changing. Pastor Dom's presentation of the word is like no other.
