I was part of this church for 6 yrs, led ministry,etc. I left officially a yr ago. I waited a yr to write & share why. I didn't leave bcuz of Offense towards ppl. But Warning of church structure as a whole (UNHEALTHY). CONTROLLED BY LEGALISM & HERESY. The Holy spirit is not in the rock churches. Teachings of (Doctrinal ERROR) and Numerology of 3, 7,12. The Rock Adapted Cesar Castellano theology&Doctrine.This man, along with this church believe the "Only Mission" is to "Evangelize":Recruit ppl, Disciple (Groom) Them, and to LIVE OUT UR CHRISTIAN LIFE is by leading in a cell format of "12"s. At the rock, You're to have life with your Cell group in order to recieve a Spiritual Cover'n". Make "COVENANT" w/ them, complete faithfulness to church vision & idol leadership. Like The Heavy Shepard Movement: You're assigned a leader, that leader becomes your spiritual guide mother/ father "they" look after your walk, and you're "accountable to them". CULT like submission to Authority. You're expected to "Recruit" daily, give reports of your work. How many souls you "Saved", internationally, locally, and how many lighthouses you open. Everything in this church is BY YOUR WORKS! The pastors would use bible verses to pressure u. You're not free to teach any outside Christian books for cell group, unless approved by leadership/ which is No. It's only the 12 lighthouse lessons already paved out for u to be groomed in, or walk w/ God series.They have this RockAMilli campaign for the month of October. The Rock church Gospel is: Convert repeat "Prayer of Salvation" they r saved/guarantee eternity before God's eyes. (Biblically Unsound) W/out the convert having to live a repented life. They abuse the verse Matthew 28:16, Pastor's would say "Your Salvation depends on saving others, when you're @ the gate God wants to see the many u brought with you". So it's literally a Race of boasting " towards how many souls you're saving".They don't share the gospel. They don't preach on Repent, Faith, and living a life in Purity, Yeilding to The Holy Spirit. They focus on "Grab ur blessing", "God wants u blessed","You have the keys to hell" "Power&Authority" Miracles, Signs,& Wonders", Evangelize & SERVE to get ur 12, if you want ur family saved, a job,or God to hear u. Jesus will know u by ur fruit/ to them amount of ppl u recruiting. Not producing spiritual fruit. They are about "Professing Christ" but no standard to live by God's word. Where "Ministry" is about passing out bread, open'n other churches in different cities, hand out flyer to invite. Zero stars. I have been a member of this church for over 8 years and I have nothing to say besides that this is an amazing cult! Top tier cult of all cults! Their teachings are twisted in order to get you to do what the leaders want. Pastors are not real pastors, they just give themselves the title without even going to school. Pastor Marnie disowned her eldest son which no one in the church is allowed to speak of his name. They act as if he does not exist. What kind of "pastor" is this? "God wants to use you" they tell everyone who steps foot into the "church". They do not even have real relationship with God. They do not know who Jesus is. They blab about how much they love Jesus when their hearts are so far from Him. "If anyone thinks he is religious and does not bridle his tongue but deceives his heart, this person's religion is worthless. Religion that is pure and undefiled before God, the Father, is this: to visit orphans and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unstained from the world."- James 1:26-27 These religious hypocrites' religion is more than worthless. They have already received their reward by bragging about how good they are and how much they read the Bible. Be smart and use discernment when present in this place or when they are telling you to do something. This is not a church, it is a business. Real evangelism involves preaching the gospel and speaking to others about Jesus Christ. The Rock Church does not evangelize. Instead, they stop people on the street and speak to them about The Rock Church. They speak about the events that the church holds and the activities that the church organizes. Then they persuade these people to attend The Rock Church and will attempt to obtain their names and cell phone numbers. The purpose of obtaining their names and cell phone numbers is in order to call them and continue to persuade them to attend The Rock Church. That is not evangelism. The Rock Church is a social club. It is not building God's Kingdom. Instead, it is building its own kingdom. I think that there is a lot to be said about a Pastor who records themselves supposedly speaking in tongues and then posts it on social media. I believe that person to be a fraud and to be trying to take advantage of those who are vulnerable. I knew that something was not right with The Rock Church when I began to attend. I stayed because I was lonely and desperately wanted friends. Consequently, I was used by the church. From Sunrise to Sunset, I was taking care of the children of one of the Pastors. When I was not doing that, I was cleaning the bathrooms inside The Rock Church or I was trying to bring more people into the church. The Rock Church would keep track of the names and cell phone numbers that I had gathered when attempting to bring others to the church. Less than 10 was not favorable and the church would be upset. If the amount of contacts that I had gathered was high, I would be told that I was doing God's will and that the day that I would go before God I would be able to present to him all that I had done for him. Literally, all of my time was devoted to The Rock Church. To make matters worse, I was pursued by one of the Church Leaders who had several young children with his wife. The wife also led ministry. I told one of the Pastors and the response was that I had misunderstood what happened. That couple went on to have another child even though it was well known that the husband was unfaithful to his wife. Slowly but surely, the friendships that I had formed within The Rock Church came to an end because I was unable to meet the demands of the church. I attended many years in my youth and was one of many youth who felt guilty for going to college since the leaders expect you to be there 24/7. We were sent to evangelize people when the temperature was 30 degrees outside. I was asked to clean the church in winter with NO HEAT. It was so cold in there!! I would not even give this church one star. The Rock Church is trying to fill its church with new members but they can't even keep their current members. Throughout the years that I was at The Rock Church, I saw many people leave. When they would leave, the church's response would always be that the person who left had done wrong, that said person was not walking with Christ or said person had gone back to the flesh. The church never looked at itself and thought that maybe the reason why the person left was because of something that had to do with the church. The goal of this church is not to bring people to Christ. It is to bring people to The Rock Church. Yes, they are always evangelizing and during evangelism the church members can not dare encourage the public to attend church. Instead, they are to persuade the public to attend The Rock Church. As a member of The Rock Church, you must tithe, you must give your first fruits and you must give your offering. What this church is not telling you is that Pastor Marnie and Bishop Ray live in a house in Long Island that is worth 5 millions dollars and their home is fully paid for. Where do you think that they got the money to buy their house? Oh, and did you know that most of the members of The Rock Church live in a room that they have to pay rent for, that many of the members of The Rock Church are undocumented and work of the books but they are expected to give the little money that they have to The Rock Church. This church has no respect for other religions. When they evangelize, they try to get Muslims, Buddhists, Hindus, Sikhs and other religions to leave their religion and attend The Rock Church. So my first service was last Sunday. It was quite an experience. I mean i have been out of church for a while because, just work and things that keep me distracted. But i have to say i was passing by and i heard the music and i felt like i needed to go in. It was one of those feelings you get when you know you have to do something before you chicken yourself out of it. This was one of those moments. I went in with my sweats and all. The people at the door were very welcoming and very friendly. I didn't feel uncomfortable at all. The service was great. The Pastor that was preaching really spoke to my soul. Everything he was saying was what i needed to hear. At the end of service i had 2 people come over to me and welcome me. Asked me if i needed prayer and i said yes. I will never turn down a prayer. Im not shy when it comes to that because, a brother always need prayers. You know what im saying. Long story short, I felt like i made the right choice for once in a long time about my life. Of course i are not perfect and i make mistakes, but this choice that i made to walk into the church, was not a mistake. These people were just so kind to me and i needed that. Pastor Marnie has often spoken about seeing God but I don't believe that she was telling the truth because the bible clearly says that, "No one has seen God and has lived." I believe that she intentionally and purposely lied. At The Rock Church, you will see people speaking in tongues but they are just pretending to be speaking in tongues. You will see people falling backwards or falling down because supposedly they were overcome by the holy spirit. Again, this is another lie. HI! My experience with The Rock Church has been one of pure unconditional love, support, guidance, joy, and just all great things. I have been going for the past 14 years. Since i was a teenager. This church has saved my life! The people, the Pastors and Leaders have been my family when i had no family. Being a young teen with no parents and no one to care for you, but your own self can be pretty scary and lonely. But God lead me to this church at a time when i felt lost, worthless, and helpless. It was a time when i was trying to find myself in all the wrong places, all the wrong people and things. I would be dead if God did plant me with such beautiful and loving people like those in The Rock Church. To me this is home!! And if there are people out there that feel alone and need a friend or family, they will be that for you. When I was a member of The Rock Church, I and my fellow cell group members were told by a church and cell group leader that the church was not interested in members who were not going to expand the church and who were not going to help the church grow. We were told that the church was only interested in members who were going to bring more people to the church.
