I went from May until the next January without an electric bill. The workers were very helpful and skilled.

We just turned on our Solar project 2 weeks ago. We are making clean energy with a system that should last no less than 20 years. We invested in battery backup, so when I see people buying Generacs and generators at Home Depot, I am like, got that covered, and the price was just a bit less than a comparable propane system. I really like seeing the little energy dots going to the grid on the app. My experience with Next Energy was fantastic! After speaking with several solar companies, we picked Next Energy Solutions to put solar and battery power in our off grid cabin.. They had far more experience and knowledge then anyone else we spoke with. We were given several options the choose from. The installation was on time and no surprises other than a mouse chewing up some wire which their electrician fixed. I have already recommended them to our neighbors for their cabin. Five stars!! We bought our solar system from Next Energy out of Shell Lake WI and I would never do business with them again. When they came out to look at our property for the installation, the seen that we had a pole building and so the owner suggested that we have the solar panels installed on the roof of the pole building. We never gave it a thought that we would not be able to clean the snow off of the panels in the winter when they were on the roof of the pole building. We had plenty of room to have them installed on a ground mount but were never advised to do so. So, we're spending close to $300.00 a month now for electricity because the solar panels are covered with snow most of the winter. We have contacted Next Energy on several occasions and the owner said he would come out to move the solar panels to a ground mount. That never happened. Once they've got your money, they don't know you anymore. If you're looking for solar, get it from anyone except Next Energy. They talk a great talk but they don't deliver. After spending all of that money on solar, you should expect more. read more

10/9/2018 I had a very unpleasant experience trying to work with NES this past summer. In June, one of their staff (Mr. X), the NES business development guy came out to look at my A-frame lake cabin, and was enthusiastic about the slope of the roof because it would not gather snow and it was at the right angle to catch the low winter sun. I decided to contract for 10 solar panels at a cost of $10 k+ with installation set for early to mid-August. I made a deposit of $5680. As the end of July approached I called Mr. X numerous times asking about installation dates. Several calls were not answered. When we did connect, the plan for installation was always complicated by shipments of materials that could not be tracked or arrival predicted. I kept calling in August trying to get a date set and it was always a week or so in the future, maybe. Finally, the last week in August installation worker arrived to look at the job and measure for bolt lenth, distance between roof beams, electrical service, etc. He said he be back the next day to begin installation. Nobody showed up or called the next day. The day after that 4 installation men arrived with the solar panels, braces, lag bolts, etc. They roamed around the house measuring the same thing the previous guy measured and said they would return the next day to do the installation. When nobody showed up the next morning I called Mr. X who told me the crane lift he rented was not working and he had to go to Superior, WI (about 80 miles from Shell Lake) to rent another one. When he finally arrived with it later that day it did not fit well in the space available and the 4 workers who arrived said it was unsafe, we needed long ladders instead. The morning no one showed up or called. When I finally reached the owner of NES he told me they did not have ladders and would have to rent them. He had not yet initiated the process of renting the ladders. By this time, it was Labor Day weekend. I was planning to leave for the winter in a couple of weeks and had guests planned for arrival. Mr. X confided to me that 'they were over their heads" with work and didn't have enough installers. He also told me that his projects seemed to be getting lower priority than the new business development person recently hired and he didn't know why. In frustration, I canceled a project that I really wanted to do. It took more than a week for the installers to pick up the solar panels and other materials left behind and only after I told Mr. X he could pick up the materials at the county waste recycling yard if they were not gone the next morning. Left behind in my yard were deep tire furrows from Mr. X's truck spinning its wheels as he tried with great difficulty to get the ill-fated crane lift out of the yard. Look elsewhere if you want good service and a business that works well. In 32 years of working with local remodelers and businesses in the area, I have never been so disrespected.
