I made an appointment online but still had to wait almost two hours to be seen. the person at the desk wouldn't make eye contact with me or even give me any updates on time, she just simply let me sit and wait and wait. When I approached her she said the doctor was running behind. When I finally was seen, the doctor was fine. Seemed pleasant enough. Told me I should go get an X-ray but because I was in lots of pain, she gave me an arm brace. She failed to mention it would cost me $250.00. Yup, $250.00 for an arm brace That I didn't even need. Been coming to this urgent care for many years. Overall, our experiences have been positive. However, this time I have to bring attention to something that has now happened more than once. Despite having an appointment and checking in early, we waited nearly an hour while walk-ins were taken back before us. We did get an explanation around how workers comp cases see a different doctor, but this still didn't explain why non-workers comp walk-ins were seen before us and only waited 5-10 mins. The receptionist stated that the nurses decide what order people are seen, while the medical assistant stated that corporate ranks or prioritizes who gets seen first. What a cluster! When we checked in online and entered our reason for the visit, we requested testing for pneumonia. And wouldn't you know it, we now have to go to another location or receive an external referral to have X-rays done because they don't have that capability at this location. Seems like someone could have flagged that before we even walked in the door. UPDATE: Was just told by a nurse that it's a fireable offense if anyone from the clinic contacts a patient in advance to let them know that they may need to visit their sister clinic in Golden for things like X-rays. Also just learned that this facility is extremely short staffed. Not sure if that's simply how corporate runs things or if they can't hire enough qualified people. Meanwhile patients and staff are unhappy and stressed Big bummer. This facility has signs all around asking patients to be respectful, etc. but when you ask the front desk staff to explain why people are being seen ahead of you, you're looked at like you're crazy for asking even if you're using a polite tone. I even apologized for being a pest but come on now. If the receptionist was experiencing what patients are, it wouldn't seem unusual to be trying to figure out what was going on. This location is sometimes super on point, and other times they don't know up from down. i do not recommend this clinic, when I came in for extreme back pain (the pain I was experiencing left me bed ridden for most of the day) and cold symptoms. Considering I have never experienced that level of pain it did start to concern me, also being it was around the time I got sick. I'm recently relocated (from the DIA area) as of this previous weekend so I do not have a primary care doctor in my area. So most of them I called had no openings for a walk in. when I came in for my scheduled appointment I was met with a doctor by the name of Kenneth Farraell (pardon my spelling) and immediately felt a very suffocating tension in the room. I was instantly bombarded with questions and when I responded I felt he started to get more irritated with me. My boyfriend was there with me and can contest to this. Kenneth made me feel extremely uncomfortable and almost targeted for coming in. He honestly made me feel like I was wrong for even being in pain I have (I have terrible ptsd from hospitals so this was extremely painful to have to reexperience) I believe this doctor is extremely rude, disrespectful, and just plainly insensitive. I do understand I am young but it can correlate with extremely serious health issues and I was simply looking for guidance on how to go about it after figuring out temporary solutions but ended up abruptly leaving my appointment. I take it back, they took multiple days to send out a lab culture, (told me it would be back in two-three days) and sent it to a lab that wasn't even open over the weekend. So, a culture was taken, not sent for multiple days, and then when it was finally received at the end of the week, wasn't even run. At this point they better hope it comes back negative, cause that is just sloppy. 6 days and counting on a "three day max" lab result. read more

I wasn't impressed with this place. Needing an urgent care just sucks and I tried to look at some reviews of different ones in the area before going and this one seemed legit. The beginning of my experience was pleasant-book online and then they call you to set up a time you can come in that day. They fit me in about an hour after I booked and I was quite impressed with their response time! And that's about all. I got there and for a doctors office it just seemed dated and I dont want to use the word dirty buuuuuuut, dirty. The women working the counter seemed more concern with their own conversation than helping others so that was offputting. I had an appointment for 2:30pm and didn't get called in until 10 minutes later. I saw the nurse, she went over my vitals then took me to another room where the doctor would see me. The doctor came in......40 minutes later. WTF? I am still perplexed at the fact that they book a room for you at a certain time only to be seen 40 minutes later. I was so irate I almost walked out except the whole not-feeling-well thing and I wanted someone to help me. The doctor finally came in and we talked for maybe 3 minutes. She said I didn't have strep, barely looked at my throat, didn't feel my glands and had no questions for me. It was a sad excuse for a doctors visit. I made an appt online for 9 am this morning for hand pain. I arrived at 8:55 and doors were locked, office dark. Tried calling with no answer. Website said they were open Waited in car til 9:15 and doors still locked/no one at office. Checked website again and now stated they were closed all day Sunday. Ran some errands and checked website again and it stated they were open. I called and miraculously someone answered. I explained about my earlier experience. All they could say is sorry. No explanation why I did not receive at least a text stating my appointment was cancelled. Told me I could come back then and would be seen asap. I drove all the way over again only to be told by the receptionist that they had no xray tech to image my hand so they would have to refer me out to get an xray. I walked out without being seen. They wasted my time not once, but twice with zero explanation or empathy. She knew I was being seen for hand trauma so she could have told me before I drove back over about no xray. Useless, apathetic, and certainly very poor medical service. Rude, uncaring receptionist. Will not use again. read more

We will never go back to this urgent care again. In July I went in for a COVID 19 test. When I arrived I called for over 10 minutes to let them know I was there (because that was what the website said to do). Finally I walked in and there were two people sitting at the reception desk casually chatting, not on the phones. The doctor and nurses were great. But now a couple months later I got a $250 bill from the lab my test was sent to. My insurance denied coverage because the urgent care sent it to an out of network lab. On a separate occasion in September, a Sunday, my husband also went in for a COVID test. He was supposed to have his results within 2 days, by Tuesday. After day two he called multiple times, they never answered the phone and never returned any of his voicemails. Finally on day five, Friday, he drove to the facility. He was able to get a print out of his test and it was dated Wednesday... they had had the results for two full days without notifying us during which time we had to quarantine and isolate. The good news for his test was that they actually sent it to an in-network lab, like they should have done with mine. read more

IF I COULD LEAVE ZERO STARS, I WOULD We came to visit this urgent care and when we walked into an empty waiting room, we were told that the closest time we could be seen was 2 hours later. So we come back 2 hours later, have a ekg done, they ask a couple questions and then proceed to tell my partner that she has fluid in her chest and thyroid problems and that she needs to be seen by the ER immediately. So we go to the hospital and proceed to sit there for over 3 hours just to have them say its nothing major and theres no fluid in her chest and have no reason to believe that her thyroid has a problem. So now we're stuck with an extra medical bill that we didn't need because CAITLIN decided to tell us a bunch of bullshit. Does anyone at this establishment know how to work a desk or do the job that they went to school for? Very terrible and will not be coming back again. I was seen for an exacerbation of ocular rosacea which is very painful. This is a condition that I have dealt with for 2 years now. It waxes and wanes. Currently I have been on doxycycline for 6 weeks and the symptoms have not resolved, so I have an appointment scheduled with my eye doctor in 5 days. I am so pained that I went into Next Care to be seen. The gold standard for treating my condition when it has failed to respond to antibiotics, warm compresses, and good lid hygiene is to add steroid eye drops to decrease inflammation. I was seen by Heidi who advised me that she was unaware there was a form of rosacea that is ocular. That's not the issue. The issue is that she refused to give me a prescription for short term steroid eye drops and instead provided me with a prescription for oral steroids which are going to do absolutely nothing to ease my suffering. I am suffering greatly with burning eyelids and gritty feeling eyes. I will now be unable to work because keeping my eyes open is painful. Next Care and Heidi, people who suffer from chronic health conditions often know what they need and that is not an insult to your clinic, or staff. Typically I am not one to assert myself. Because I am in a great deal of pain, I left after being seen, found a peer reviewed study that supported my request for steroid eye drops, and came back in to show it to Heidi. I showed it to the man up front. He went into the back to speak with Heidi. After he spoke with Heidi, he came back and told me that she was standing by her decision. Heidi's lack of knowledge coupled with her refusal to provide me with what I know that I need means that I will be in pain and unable to work for days. read more

I am very understanding at places like this because I know they are very busy. My problem, however, was the arrogant doctor who had a terrible bedside manner. He was completely dismissive of my concerns, which is very frustrating, considering I've been in an intolerable amount of pain and discomfort and have had fever and chills foe the past few days. Then he tells me he'll be right back and is gone for 45 minutes and when I came out of the room he admittedly forgot about me and basically threw my discharge paperwork at me and told me I could leave. I told three different people that I needed to get a flu shot and the nurse had no idea. 20 minute wait which actually ended up being closer to an hour to be seen by a provider for less than 30 seconds after getting a covid test - I didn't have to be seen by a provider at the same urgent care in AZ a week ago. Also, why is there a $25 fee to get a flu shot that should be covered by insurance? Everyone who works here is not very nice and has no idea what they're doing - wouldn't you think that you should know, as a covid testing provider, if a rapid Covid test is covered by insurance? I was seen in the Golden Colorado clinic in March 2023. Since I had recently retired I was on Cobra but my insurance was still inactive, so I was required to pay $530 at the time of my visit. I turned it into my insurance who paid the claim to Nextcare, so Nextcare was paid twice and is required by law to refund my $530. it is now January, 2024 and they refuse to refund my money. I have called numerous times and each time I am told the same thing, "Yes I see that you are owed a credit of $530 but we have no record of you requesting it. It will take 4-6 weeks to process." No check ever arrives, so I call again, same response. At one point I got some guy who said he would escalate it, and have the money returned to my credit card. Two weeks went by, no credit, so I called again. Nothing was done and and agin I told it will take 4 to 6 weeks to process a check. I've also sent emails to the billing office requesting my refund, no response. This is customer service at its absolute worst. read more

Went for an xray and was forced to check in online and wait 30 minutes before the Arvada location revealed the xray tech was not in the office. Traveled to the golden location where my place in line was lost and I was forced again to checkin online. While waiting another 30 minutes, a staff member parked in the marked section of handicap parking blocking me from being able to get my son out of the car. When I told the woman she couldn't park there she refused to move, told me to calm down and refused all medical service and sent us away without ever seeing my son. I took my daughter to this urgent care to get her ankle x-rayed. The nurse just stood there as she watched me lift my 10 year old child in and out of the wheel chair. The nurse then bashed the wheel chair into the doorway with my daughter inside of it into the room to be looked at. After 2 hours of sitting there they have to do a second X-ray because the first one was not done properly. I walked out into the hall and all 3 of them are laughing and talking and as I walk out to the bathroom they get defensive saying the X-rays are coming. Well they wasn't obvious...after another 40 min of waiting...They tell us she needs surgery and send us to Lutheran Hospital and state that they are sending over the second X-ray results to the hospital and that they called for our arrival. Trying to leave to go to the hospital and they told me the paper work was still processing and to go sit my child in my car and come back for the paper work. Seriously!?! They didn't send the second X-ray. They didn't call. This hospital doesn't perform surgery on children under 16. We got to the hospital at 8:30 it's now 1:04 am and they're doing X-rays and then will send us to children's hospital for the surgery. Nextcare's customer service is the WORST customer service I've ever had in health care. My daughter is in so much pain from their lack of attention to detail and care for their patients. The front desk staff and medical staff were friendly. I was a little disappointed that the site stated curbside services offered but that was not the case. They required me to come in even to wait. There did not seem to be any extra precautions for cleaning surfaces, pens ets as patients entered and exited the building which was a little concerning. While it was relatively empty they must be very under staffed as I still waited 30 minutes even with an appointment. My main complaint is follow through, I even expect delays with testing due to the holiday and COVID, however they NEVER answer the phone or return any messages. Very frustrating. I will not be returning here if I can help it. Final complaint is that all over website it states rapid Covid testing available but when I got there that was not the case. I came into this office because I need a physical for my work insurance and life insurance plan. I didn't have any paperwork as me and my family own our own company. Apparently, walking into a physical without paperwork is not common. They acted like they saw a ghost and had no idea what to do. They asked to call my father, who told them what the insurance company needed. After waiting for 50 minutes, I could hear the nurse talking terribly about me and my family. She didn't understand why I needed certain test done. Why does that matter to her? I was here to get an exam and a drug test done. Her opinion on my family and my "weird" situation was not her place to state. I ended up walking out. I felt embarrassed and humiliated by this women and this staff.
