My husband hired them to put in a barbecue area in our backyard and pavers with trees in the front of our house. Then he suggested adding on some plants by our master bedroom window and behind the barbecue area. That's where the trouble began. All work was approved in August. We decided on honeysuckles on trellises and camellias. The work for the barbecue area and the front of the house went well and on schedule. The area behind the barbecue area and by the master bedroom were not completed. It kept getting put off. The job was started in August and was not finished until the following April. Excuses included that the plants were not available at the nursery that they use. That actually was a bit of a relief since they wanted to plant them in January and I was afraid that they would freeze. Then March rolls around and I ask if we could go to the nursery that they use and pick out the honeysuckles and camellias. There was not much to pick from, but we decided on coral honeysuckle for behind the barbecue area and purple honeysuckle and two white camellias for the master bedroom area. Unfortunately, the only white camellias available were on trellises. I told my husband that it might cause a problem, but if they asked for more money that would be perfectly fine. Unfortunately, no one spoke to us about it. Their answer to the problem was simply to leave out the trellises for the honeysuckles. Now we have honeysuckles that are planted too far from the fence with no trellises. This company is either lacking in communication with customers or does not have enough experience with smaller plants. I recommend them for stonework, paving, and tree planting, but not for smaller plants. Their pricing is very reasonable. Just be sure that they understand what is important to you for example trellises. Also be sure that they don't do any planting in January when your plants are liable to freeze. Better yet just stick to the stonework and paving. They are great at that!

This job was for a very large area of over 4000 sf. His crew cleaned up the job site every day and sent progress photo's since I was out of the area. He made sure to ask questions and kept the conversation going. They did such an amazing job that I plan to hire him on my next job. Highly recommend James and crew for any landscaping project.

He came out for the free estimate. He was on time and professional. We decided to not move forward with the pond and asked for a quote for the existing removal and re-pavement of our uneven cement area. We went back and forth quite a bit in regards to details. He was very accommodating and squeezed us into his tight schedule. In the end, we did not move forward with James, NOT because of his work quality or ethic, but because we as a customer were extremely difficult to work with. We were too indecisive on many personal factors. James was professional from start to finish. He was responsive and accommodating. He provided many videos to support his work and all of his completed jobs looked amazing! It is a shame that we did not move forward with him. Though he did not do our landscaping, I would still highly recommend him.

Juan even came out on a Sunday to accommodate our busy schedule, which immediately showed his commitment to customer service. The crew worked incredibly hard and with real attention to detail. They welded five trellises, removed palm trees and cleared out debris, completely transforming the space. On top of that, they created a beautiful surprise succulent garden in the work area, which was such a thoughtful and creative touch. Juan clearly has a strong eye for design. He was intuitive and knowledgeable about the flow of the yard, and it showed in every decision. The team took their time to make everything look just right, from artistically arranging the rocks to carefully weaving the climbers into place. Beyond the quality of the work, the entire team was friendly, polite, and respectful throughout the process. It truly felt like they cared about the final result as much as we did. We will absolutely be doing business with Juan and his team again. Highly recommend.

Juan and his team went above and beyond with the materials he used, the design thinking he contributed in, and the extra effort he put in throughout the entire project. Juan understands the bigger picture of what it takes to make a backyard install work well long term. He paid attention to the full system including trenching, irrigation layout, gas line installation for the fire pit, plant placement, lighting, and more, making sure everything worked together piece by piece. What stood out most, and why we ultimately chose him, was how genuine he was about caring for our yard plans after talking with several other contractors around the valley and East Bay. I work as a creative lead and tend to be very particular about design and visual decisions, so I was honestly surprised how little feedback I had during the process. Juan's instincts and design sense were strong enough that I ended up trusting him to run with many of the decisions. Juan is extremely hands-on and proactive, and you can tell he takes real pride in his work. Throughout the project he would point out adjustments that would make the yard function better and age well as the plants grow in. I attached a couple short clips that show parts of the process and the finished result. The yard came out clean, intentional, and extremely well designed. If you're looking for someone who can handle the full scope of a backyard project from design to materials to installation and genuinely cares about the details, Juan is the man!
