This is the best enrollment center I've ever been to. Everyone was so friendly, efficient, and I was in and out so quickly! I made my Global Entry renewal appointment online and came during COVID times so I thought I would be waiting for a very long time. When I arrived, someone took my temperature before I could enter and verified that I had an appointment. Once I got inside, I was checked in and they checked that I brought all of the correct documentation. I then saw a officer right away and they took my finger prints, checked documentation, and did the interview, and took my picture. This whole process of checking my temperature to walking out the door was less than 15 minutes. This was my first time here and I think I'm coming here for vacation every 5 years to renew! It was such a pleasant experience that I usually dread. Parking: There is plenty of parking. Its located in with other businesses and they all had spots available. I was able to easily part near the entrance.

Really fast experience! We got in and out in just 15 minutes. Located just near by with Canadian border, so you also can stop by Peace Arch State park and take a look at Canadian border.

Got in without an appointment so it made the trip there worth it. I don't think they like people try to walk in so just be aware

My room was on the 4th floor and came with a fridge. I loved the tall ceiling, it feels almost like a house. There is ample parking. It's really nice as there's a lot of parking spots in the outdoor lot so you don't need to check in to the hotel first before being able to access the parking lot like quite a few neighboring hotels. There is also an underground parking lot if a more secure spot is desired. The room itself was nice. The carpetting made it feel older than other modern hotels but it was clean. The bed was very comfortable and the pillows were great as well. Shampoo/conditioner all-in-one was available but not body wash. Small bar soaps are also available. Despite feeling a bit old, the room was comfortable. Sound proofing is mediocre, other guests and birds outside can be heard quite easily. Bring ear plugs to sleep well. The hotel has complimentary breakfast served at 7am. I had to leave as it was opening but there seemed to be quite a selection of items at a quick glance.

This hotel doesn't stand out compared to all the other surrounding hotels in the area, but it was…read moreworth the stay regardless. For my trip to Victoria BC, my family of four booked a room here with two double beds. The booking comes with free breakfast and $10 daily parking to use for their parking lot and garage. Both check-in and check-out was fast and prompt, and the hotel itself is a drivable and even walkable distance to many notable places like Fisherman's Wharf, Pendray Tea House, the Legislative Assembly of British Columbia, and downtown Victoria itself. As an added bonus, the Tour de Victoria also takes place near the streets leading to this hotel if you catch it at the right time. Parking is limited even at the hotel since spaces are pretty tight especially down in the garage area where some spaces are dangerously close to poles. This area ended up being the most convenient for us to use given how rainy one of the days was. When there's food, I also gotta review it though it isn't as big of a factor here compared to everything else. Breakfast here is buffet style, where you can grab anything from eggs and bacon, cereal, pastries, self-made waffles and drinks. They served two kinds of breakfast potatoes and those ended up being my favorites because of how full you can get off of them and to pace my hunger for certain situations like late waking-up times. Their dining hall is located near the lobby, and it also houses a small recreational room with a small shelf full of board and card games, and some sofas to relax at along with guest-only restrooms to utilize. As for the hotel rooms, they're relatively spacious and clean, while the bathrooms are brightly lit but a little cramped without much sink counter space for a lot of our stuff. We asked the front desk for some extra blankets, and they came up after a little bit with them, about 15 minutes. There is an AC unit in our room, though it took a really long time - even at its coldest setting - to make our place appropriately chilly for a good night's sleep. Compared to the other hotels in the surrounding area, this doesn't stand out in any way, but the service and quality more than make up for it, and we had an easier time navigating around the city knowing we could come here afterwards and rest. I'll consider booking another room here on a return trip to Victoria BC!

The hotel overlooks the Harbor. It is one of the city's oldest and most famous hotels. It opened in 1908, the building is a classic example of turn-of-the-century architecture where countless celebrities and royal visitors elected to stay here over the years, and we could see why when we stepped inside. The hotel is steeped in history and elegance. The Fairmont Empress pairs Edwardian architecture with a polished, contemporary sensibility, anchored by a Reception Lobby dressed in gold, charcoal, and lavender. The centerpiece of the hotel is marked by a jaw dropping massive, hand-cut crystal twill-flower custom designed chandelier consisting of 250,000 crystals modernizes the airy entryway to the hotel while still allowing the structure's Edwardian bones to shine through. We actually sat down to take it all in. The Fairmont Empress is grand and impressive. Grand, as in really big. Not only are there 464 guest rooms but plenty of places to sit and sip and people watch. We walked around to look at the different spaces. The Lobby Lounge was an inviting space. It looked like something you would find in the Bahamas with its whitewashed walls, coffered ceilings and palm trees. It's where Empress afternoon tea is served, but there's also a bar plus a piano that gets plenty of regular action by featured performers almost daily. We were able to see the Palm Court, which is an airy atrium-like space with a stained-glass dome ceiling and Italian marble flooring. What is interesting is that this stained-glass dome had been covered up because it collapsed on New Year's Eve in 1968 during an unusual heavy snowstorm. The Tiffany-style-stained glass was covered up and later rediscovered. It was restored during a Royal Restoration in 1988. The glass dome never has the same colors; colors of the dome change dependent on the weather. The acoustics in the Palm Court is so sensitive that if one whispers on one side of the room, the conversation can be picked up on the other side, just by whispering! We were glad it was restored as it is gorgeous. They have an avenue of lovely shops that lead to the Victoria Convention Center. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to the Empress.

Keep in mind that this office is exclusively the visa section of the Consulate General P.R.C. and should you as a chinese ciitzen require any further consular assistance you should contact the office at 3380 Granville St! So how does this process work. If you want to do it the easy way in terms of just getting a chinese visa you dont go here at all and use a visa agency like China Travel Service Canada who will process everything against a nominal fee. I usually have some time on my hands so I decided to give it a try by myself, save the $ for CTS and go by myself. This is a VERY busy office considering the rather large chinese (by descent) population in Vancouver so I can only encourage everyone to arrive early, the best is ~7 or 7:30am in the morning. At this time you might be one of the lucky ones in the first 25 meters of the lineup. Yes, you heard right: The lineup here is MASSIVE and getting up early certainly saves your whole morning. It could come even worse, that everything takes so long that they close before you even got inside to take care of business. So again: Get up early, grab a coffee, line up, get stuff done! The consular section opens at 9am (and not a second earlier). The doors open at 8am though in the winter you might be allowed to wait in the hallway starting at ~ 7:15p if you are lucky. It happened this way last January and it was brrrr freezing outside!! Be prepared to meet/see/get yelled at by the absolute 'mental' security guard (caucasian) who they seemingly recruited somewhere along E. Hastings. Terrible! Anyway, once inside have your documents prepared and wait until your number is called. Numbers are being distributed at the entrance from said guard or another staff member of the consulate. The visa fees are as of today (June 2011) 50$ for single entry 3 months validity & 75$ for dual entry valid for 6 months. The option for multiple entry is 100$ for 6 months and 150$ for 12 months however at this time the consulate generally does not grant multiple's anymore per directive. For U.S. citizens the fee is generally 130$. All fees are payable upon pick-up by Debit Card, money order or COMPANY check. No Credit Cards, Cash or personal checks are accepted. It is possible to get an Express Service, Same day for 50$ (has to be applied by 11am) or 2 business days for 35$. Otherwise it will take 3-4 Business Days. This pretty much sums it up. For further info please refer to their website with up to date data. Cheers S
