Dr. Yu is a kind doctor, but not a talented chiropractor by any means. I was injured by Dr. Yu in my last visit as he tried to "gently" adjust my neck. The adjustments didnt feel right as he did them. He then tried a lifted traction maneuver which caused significant shooting nerve/arm pain immediately. I left the office in major pain and it saddens me because I was feeling really good going in for my monthly maintenance. Its been 3 months since then and my neck has not been the same. I asked for my co-pay back in frustration (which in fairness, he obliged) but the damage was already done. My lingering pain led me to file a claim with my insurance company and me messaging Dr. Yu about this personally for help. He offered acupuncture to help but I couldnt stomach going back to the office where I got injured. I hope you read this review and make a careful decision visiting this facility. Dr. Yu is exceptionally talented in his field. I previously had a few surgeries including a laminectomy / microdiscectomy, spinal fusion, and a SI joint fusion. Recently, I started experiencing upper back pain due to neural foramen narrowing. The pain radiated into my arm and hand. It was severe but after Dr. Yu did a few chiropractic adjustments as well as acupuncture, the pain reduced significantly. I've been treated here for many years by Dr. Feng. Lately he has not been at this location so I decided to get treated by Dr. Yu which is a Chiropractor and Acupuncturist. I believe he also uses TCM to treat his patients. Anyway, I went to see Dr. Yu for a headache which was bothering me on left side near my temple. I thought it was stress related but eventually figured out the headache was due to teeth grinding. I asked for an acupuncture treatment BUT along with that Dr. Yu adjusted me and used message therapy on the back of my neck and temple. before beginning, he explained in detail to me about the treatment that he would be performing that day. Two treatments for my condition and I felt great. The acupuncture treatment really relaxed my body. Dr. Yu was professional, courteous and friendly. I just got my first treatment on my knees with Dr. Lim. He's very knowledgeable and understanding. He explained a lot of things to me about why my knees were this way after months of strenuous soccer games. He did something called active release which worked great even for my 1st session. It's like a combo of massage and stretching at the same time. Then he put some kinesio tape on them which surprisingly for a thin piece and small surface area seems to help relieve stress on my knees. My neck is jacked and after suffering for a couple days I decided to do the research on my insurance website and find a chiro near my house. This place was the first on the list. They answered the phone right away and were very polite on the phone. They were able to fit me in today so I came by for an adjustment. The front house intern Simon was super nice and I was in and out in an hour. I saw Dr. Feng. No upselling, or trying to get me on a treatment plan. Dr. said to come back in a week for a follow-up unless I was in pain, in which case come back sooner. I made an appt for Monday. Not only is Dr. Feng friendly, but he is also a very good chiropractor. He is gentle, and is willing to do what he can for patients. Choosing a trustworthy chiropractor can be difficult, especially when you are needing physical therapy, or any kind of massage, as it is your body. However, Dr. Feng does a good job with both physical therapy, and massage. Massages are known for their relaxation, and I feel very relaxed with the people here. The practice is clean, and the staff nice. Good chiropractic care can be hard to come by, however with how good a job they do at this practice, I would highly recommend. Second session here today and it went terrible in comparison to my first session. Perhaps it was because of different doctor I saw for my second session. First session I saw Dr. Yu, second session I saw Dr Feng (who is the owner of the clinic). Dr Yu was so so much more attentive and thorough whereas Dr. Feng was in and out of there so quickly. I had to request for certain therapies to be done per Dr. Yu's recommendations, however, Dr. Feng was less receptive and insisted I did not need those treatments. My impression of Feng is an overconfident air of superiority. His walls are lined with accolades of treating famous athletes...perhaps that is the crowd he prefers to give preferential treatments to? Whenever I strain my lower back, my regular doc usually recommends two weeks a massage, anti-inflammatories and pain killers. The massage can be a hit or miss and the pain killers helped with the discomfort but were doing nothing to heal the injury. I found Dr. Feng here on Yelp and after one visit, felt about 80% better. I went from not being able to run at all to being able to jog back to my car after the visit. He used a combination of electric stimulation to the low back, traditional chiro adjustments, ultrasonic treatment (during which I could actually feel my right hip relaxing and opening up) and ice. Just on sitting up from the table at the end of the treatment I felt a huge difference. Over the years I've had my fair share of encounters with massage therapists, chiropractors and doctors for various sports-related strains in my neck and back that come up from time to time. This guy is the gold standard and Dr. Feng just became my Pasadena area go-to-guy for injury treatment. Going back in a couple days to put this injury to rest for good. As a martial artist, I wanted someone that could get me back to training ASAP and one of my training partners said I gotta see his chiropractor. So I did - making an appointment was a breeze and they are very responsive to requests made through their website. Dr Feng explained to me how having a pinched nerve in my neck could cause a feeling of pins and needles down my arm. Having a degenerated disc is part of the aging process and can be accelerated through repetitive activities and contact sports/trauma. He performed a series of "spinal corrections" that seemed to put my joints back in place. It felt amazing. He then did some active release stretching that allowed me to back to training immediately. Dr Feng is very meticulous and does not use a cookie cutter approach. I nominate him for the best sports chiropractic doctor award! His new office location is clean and well maintained. Poked on my hands and feet. Didnt even target the lower back pain I was having. When she left me in there to lay with the needles in me I started looking around. My dad's whole left leg has been hurting for awhile so I bought him a Groupon for acupuncture just to test it out. I called in to make an appointment and Christine was extremely helpful and gave me all the details about what time to come in and the whole process. When we arrived, we quickly filled out some paperwork and was taken to a separate room to meet Robyn, the acupuncturist doctor. It was his first time ever doing acupuncture and Dr. Kim was sooo understanding. At first it was hard because of the language barrier but Dr. Kim does her best to try and speak in a way that he can understand. My dad found it extremely helpful and it was easier for him to walk so I went home that day and bought another one for my mom. My mom also enjoyed it a lot and found the treatment itself to be very helpful. Now my parents go in every Thursday and they love it! And I know a lot of people come to Robyn because the time slots get filled up fast! Robyn is such a sweet lady. She asks you how you are feeling throughout the whole process. She is sooo patient and understanding with my parents. She really tries to get to know you on a personal level and she's also really cute and funny. My parents love coming back to her because she shows that she cares about them. In terms of the rest of the services offered, we haven't tried anything else besides acupuncture but every time we are there, it seems like the other patients enjoy it. read more

One word: NIGHTMARE. BEWARE those of you who bought the LIVING SOCIAL massage certificate. Penny S. - is very lucky to have gotten a taste of their complete lack of professionalism over the phone so that she didn't make the mistake of coming in. Check the reviews on here by date. The good reviews are for a chiropractor who is an independent contractor. This is the most awful massage experience I have ever had and will no longer buy massage deals from Living Social. Let me paint a picture for you: I walk in to a reception area that has a physical therapy section right next to it - with weights and other equipment. Its dusty and there are paints chips strewn on the rug. Maybe they were recently going through some construction, I think to myself. I'm handed a letter from the owner which basically says that they are losing money through the deals they've offered, that they are offering services comparable to a spa, and that we should tip based on a $100 massage. I assume I'll be taken into a room shortly. The masseuse walks in and tells me to come with her without saying hello - I say "hi" and try to catch her eye gaze as I stretch out my hand. She stops in the middle of that same room and I see her pull a raggedy curtain hanging from the ceiling (umm what's happening?). Yes, the massage is right next to the waiting area and right next to a small gym area where people do their physical therapy (mind you this is all in the same room). I ask her if there isn't a room they usually do massage in. "Yeah there is but its super claustrophobic with tons of equipment in the way." Okayyy. Why I didn't leave then I don't know. It was one of those days. I was sore and I really wanted some attention in my upper back and the last therapy patients had left (rationalizing). It's is hard for me to believe that this woman had ever given a massage in her life. She literally started poking me and did these very sloppy arm yanks. It reminded me of when I've let my 7yr old goddaughter play expert therapist on me - except its cute when a little child does it. It's a vulnerable position to be in; half-naked in an unenclosed space when you get the urge to jet. As I'm debating how to make my exit, homegirl rubs some sticky lotion down my back and down my left arm. A rancid smell hits my nose. "I can't do this," I say. Couldn't get that smell out of my system for the rest of the day. Word to the wise: get your money back if you made the mistake of buying this deal. Either this is a really bad joke or they are using Living Social customers to act as practice people for their uncertified masseuses. read more

I originally saw Dr. Lim at the Lakewood office and followed him to Arcadia because of his knowledge with ART (Active Release Techniques) which is a patented, state of the art soft tissue system/movement based massage technique that treats problems with muscles, tendons, ligaments, fascia and nerves (quoted from ART website http://www.activerelease.com/what_patients.asp). Dr. Lim also combines ultra sound and Kinesio Tape (which gives support and stability to your joints and muscles without affecting circulation and range of motion. It is also used for Preventive Maintenance, Edema, and to treat pain) in aiding relief and recovery. He is extremely thorough and explains to you every step of the way during his treatment. And he always ends his treatment with a chiropractic adjustment. I highly recommend Dr. Lim and Dr. Feng. I only wish Dr. Lim could travel to Lakewood office more often. :D read more

Dr. Feng helped me survive my last three months of pregnancy. Being petite (5' 2" and 95 lb pre-pregnancy), the growing baby bump was causing severe strain on my back. Sleeping, driving, working at my desk were all difficult physical challenges daily. Dr. Feng was able to provide specialized prenatal "tune ups" which lessened the pain tremendously. This isn't one of those cookie cutter chiropractic centers where they're 90% sales, 10% chiro. I went to Dr. Feng when I was having lower back pain and I was pregnant. He adjusted me, and told me to come in if I needed more help. I felt immediately better but came in regularly anyway to stay pain free during my pregnancy. I had been having a lot of problems with my uneven shoulder (left being higher than the right). And it had been making me feel out of balance. So I found this place while searching for a chiropractor to fix my posture and spine. It is a little hole in the wall located right by Boiling Point; you won't miss it. Once you go in, you will either be greeted by the doctor himself or the friendly staff members who work there. This is my 4th visit now; my 3rd time seeing Dr. Yu who is by far one the most patient Doctor you can ask for. He took his time examining my shoulders, my spine and my body muscles in order to diagnose the underlying problem. My 1st visit here; he tried his best to adjust all the bones and joints back into position (God knows how long they had been out of position for). Yup, heard lots of cracks in my body and creeped the hell out of me, but I came out feeling light as a feather. As the progress to heal will require some time, Dr. Yu instructed me with a few series of helpful exercises to improve my back muscles. He also regularly checks in with me to see how I am doing. The massage therapist did a pretty good job. However, there is no privacy. Even the curtain between me and another patron does not go all the way. You can hear everything that goes on, the receptionist answering the phone and patrons chatting with their massage\physical therapists in their regular voice. They don't even bother to whisper.
