I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Nezhat and his team. He saved my life and is the only reason I received an accurate diagnosis, and finally have hope for the future. Long story short (because I could talk about this for hours), I began having debilitating, unexplained symptoms 2.5 years ago that presented like an autoimmune disorder (autoimmune testing was continuously negative). I spent tens of thousands of dollars, countless hours researching, and saw over 15 doctors/specialists who couldn't diagnose me. It got to the point where I was told it was probably Fibromyalgia, and essentially there was nothing wrong with me and I should consider a psych evaluation for a pain disorder (beyond humiliating and degrading). I even asked my Gynecologist about the possibility of having endometriosis two years ago, but she said endometriosis doesn't cause back pain or leg numbness (very wrong), so I didn't pursue it further because I believed her. Fast forward to May 2025, out of sheer desperation, I decided to "retrace my steps" to see if something was missed, and I found Dr. Nezhat on Google. My only regret is not finding him sooner. Every single symptom I mentioned, he validated as a possible symptom of endometriosis, and never once dismissed me because I didn't necessarily have the stereotypical symptoms of Endo. I immediately felt comfortable with Dr. Nezhat and even told my husband "this is where I'm supposed to be". Such an amazing feeling. Dr. Nezhat performed surgery a week and a half ago, and said it was the worst case he's seen. I ended up having deep infiltrating endometriosis throughout my pelvis and abdomen (over 40 excisions/biopsies). This condition caused systemic, inflammatory and auto-immune-like symptoms; it literally destroyed my body and I don't know what I would have done without him. He genuinely saved my life. I can't predict the future, but Dr. Nezhat will never get rid of me :). Thank you for believing me. Thank you for saving me. It has taken me a few months to get to the point of being able to put into words what Dr Nezhat has done for me and to write this review.  Dr Nezhat saved my life.  I had been getting sicker and sicker over the last 2-3 years.  I had seen 3 Gastroenterologist, 4 gynecologist/gynecological surgeons, 1 neurologist and had gone to the Mayo clinic for weeks at a time with no resolve.  I have had MRI's, CT scans, X-rays, blood tests and a laundry list of other tests to determine why I was in so much pain and so sickly all the time. I have had 2 abdominal surgeries and later a partial hysterectomy, leaving my ovaries.   And I was still in so much pain and got no relief.  I told my husband twice I thought I was dying, and I truly was tired of living in constant unbearable pain that I wanted to die.  My husband told me to go and see Dr Nezhat, as his family members had great success with him as their doctor.  Dr. Nezhat is 100% the most knowledgeable and educated Doctor in his field.  He is extensively published, and I felt there was no doctor better in the world to review my case.  I called and spoke with his amazing and caring staff.  They organized my visit and gathered all the medical history.  I had an exam and met with Dr Nezhat after he reviewed my lengthy history.  About 1 month after he began reviewing my case, he scheduled me for surgery.  Dr Nezhat was the only doctor that found the issues and decided to do exploratory surgery on my abdomen.  I am very glad he did!  This was a life-changing event for me!  He spent the time going through my entire abdomen, organ by organ.  Cleaned, repaired and put them back in place where they belonged.  The surgery took about 6.5 hours total with recovery.  Dr Nezhat is one of the most compassionate and caring doctors I have ever met and I have seen many.  He truly cares for his patients, their healing and well-being above all else.   I highly recommend not giving up on yourself and your pain!  Schedule to see Dr Nezhat.  It will be the best decision you EVER MAKE!!  Thank you isn't enough Dr Nezhat and your entire staff. read more

Very disappointed with their rules. The doctor doesn't accept any insurance. They asked for $1.8K to pay out of pocket. When we agreed they asked me make they payment a month before the appointment to secure the appointment. Otherwise they dont book any time for you. The person in their finance team said " we do what works for US" like nothing to do with patients or what can help others. Dr. Nezhat was a Godsend, my daughter struggled with undiagnosed abdominal pain for a year. She endured many invasive tests and saw 6 different specialists. **READ TO THE END** 10 years I have suffered with infertility, abdomen pain and painful periods. After two ER visits in 6 months for ovarian cysts, as well as excruciating pain during and after periods, I was recommended to have a lap surgery for endometriosis. The Endometriosis Foundation referred me to Dr. Nezhat. He is nothing short of a miracle worker. He was able to accommodate an emergency surgery because of my pain. He excised ALL endo lesions, where other doctors wanted to prescribe Lupron (horrible drug), he saved my left ovary, which was huge and fused to my colon, even though I said I was done with it - I would never get pregnant. That was 7 weeks ago. Unbelievably, today I'm roughly 4 weeks pregnant and endometriosis/pain free!!!!!! So grateful to Dr. Nezhat and his team. By the way, this doctor is world-class. I highly recommend Dr. Ceana Nezhat. He is a brilliant doctor who listens to his patients and is compassionate about his work. He takes pride in finding the problem and fixing it. I've been to several doctors over the years with the same pain but no one could find the problem. Dr. Nezhat was the only doctor that found the cause of the pain and fixed it. Dr. Nezhat is a wonderful man. His staff are all excellent and caring people as well. He makes each an every patient feel as if they were his own family. I know a lot of people have problems with him not taking insurance directly. That's completely understandable, but my wife has battled endometriosis her entire life. We are almost a year post op from the surgery, and I cannot thank him enough for restoring my wife's quality of life. Dr. Nezhat is highly capable, has amazing bedside manners and listening skills. I've had 3 surgeries performed by him. His financial staff is OUTSTANDING. They have helped me incredibly explaining the costs of services, my rights given my insurance plan and also guided me to ask the right questions when I had challenges with the insurance company. Dr. Nezhat is a MIRACLE WORKER. I came to him after having my first surgery for endometriosis because I had no improvements. He immediately did a thorough examination and also diagnosed me with PCOS. Since he is an expert, he knew to look for things that other doctors hadn't and connected the dots on so many of my symptoms. I had my second surgery in under a year in October and Dr. Nezhat and his team were INCREDIBLE. I had to stay the night in the hospital but Dr. Nezhat was there to check on me first thing in the morning-I never saw my other doctor until post-op with my original surgery. When I've had to call to speak to a nurse, 85% of the time I get to speak to Dr. Nezhat-this is so rare!!! He genuinely cares about his patients and always believes in your symptoms-something hard to find with a disease like endometriosis. Each time I interact with his office whether over the phone or in person, the people could not be nicer or more helpful. I did not find this surgeon kind or compassionate. Perhaps he is skilled surgically, but his bedside manner was not as I expected. He did not explain things clearly to me, and was condescending in his manner. Also, he does not accept insurance, all the risk is absorbed by the patient. I don't think that is necessary unless charges are far above the reasonable fee, and he is. I am not opposed to paying a premium most especially when it comes to my health, but this was certainly not a premium experience. I would not recommend him. read more

I'm sure he is a very highly skilled doctor, but the fact that this doctor does not accept insurance is very difficult for those patients who need the surgery and don't have a couple of thousand dollars laying around. To book an appointment with him, you must pay $100 up front just to schedule the appointment. I found out later, when I called to cancel the appointment a week in advance, that the $100 was non-refundable. Once you go to your initial consultative appointment, it will cost you another $300+. I asked the front office for a range of how much the surgery would cost me. I was told that a basic, straightforward procedure would be $7,500 and a more complicated situation would cost up to $25,000. Ladies, there are other options. There are some great surgeons who do take insurance and are just as skilled and have great bedside manner. Do your research. read more

As an Internal Medicine Physician, I have known Dr Nezhat for over 20 years referring many patients to him with excellent outcomes. I also chose him for my own surgery as well as family members and friends over the years. He is by far the most experienced and skilled physician with a laparoscope and minimally invasive surgery anywhere. He was ahead of his time years ago and therefore has tremendous experience and wisdom with very complex cases. He is meticulous, patient, and detail oriented. In molding and creating the most skilled staff in his office and surgical team at Northside Hospital Women's Center, the level of care there is exemplary. As a surgeon, he is the most patient one I know. He spends more time with patients than ever expected. He truly cares and is heartfelt, which is rare these days. Last month I had a medical crisis and knew I needed emergency surgery that would be complicated, prolonged, and risky. I purposefully went to Northside Hospital because of his skill, even though I trained in the Emory system. He truly saved my life and was able to get me back on my feet much sooner than conventional (open laparotomy) surgery. In addition, the Northside medical team in the ER and Women's Center gave me excellent medical care with empathy during such a vulnerable time. (Of note, they did NOT know I was a physician until later in the course, so that was not a factor). Unfortunately, I feel our medical system as a whole is diseased, if not broken. Insurance companies dictate care rather than the skill and art of excellent physicians. Regardless, Dr. Nezhat has been able to weather that storm and continue remarkable medical care on many levels. I do believe it is a calling with him. I am grateful that he passes this forward in teaching other physicians and surgical residents all over the world. This doctor only cares about money. At first everyone will seem nice. They will do everything to accommodate you until they get their first surgery. A few months later your desease will be back and they start being rude and won't file to your insurance anymore. Expect to wait 2 to 3 hours past ur appointment to see him. Skilled surgeon and caring physician who has dramatically improved my quality of life over several years.
