I have lived at Brookside Gardens for 15 years. right now we can smell garbage a block away. the compactor doesn't work. it has never been out of order that it wasn't fixed immediately. This is a health hazard. I think management hasn't paid the bill. only reason it hasn't been fixed. We are seniors here and need to have this fixed. read more

Moved into a new subdivision November 7, 2025 Filed a few days later for a fence installed. We got approval from neighbors on BOTH sides to attach to their fence. All we need to do is go across back & middle of our house. Documents were sent in within a few days of closing. We had Lowe's come out & measure. Every document we sent in has NOT been approved for one reason or another. Numerous phone calls with no return calls. Emails sent & responses don't make sense. Everything needed is attached from us. Now our materials have been in for 2 weeks (it being slow season) and the installing is calling to set a date. This has been going on for a month with no progress from HOA mgmt company. This is our 3rd fence installed in 3 different HOA's. Prior 2 were fast & easy. This subdivision is going to be huge & it's only just begun. No way can NHE handle 300 homes. The holidays are next week, we have family coming & we back up to woods with trash all over so we'll continue to look at that. Also our 2 small dogs need to be leashed to go out & can't run free. Check them out if you're considering using them for your property mgmt company. Horrible! Poor communication. This is the bottom of the barrel as far down as you can sink. They were the former property managers at the apartment complex I have lived in for 11 years and thank God they r gone there is a God. They purposely left out my security deposit on my lease and now that the new property management company wants to credit my acct they can't. I have reached out to the original management company Bell Partners and they are trying to help me. NHE has done such terrible things to me and I am one of the best tenants. Never missed a rent payment and keep my apt like a dollshouse. They hired a FELON without doing a background check as a favor to the maintenance supervisor. He came into my apt and created such chaos and tried to rip me off and use my apt as a home base to plot the home invasions and drug dealing after hours. He eventually got caught and soon after that committed another crime and went to prison on possession of a gun as a felon, methamphetamine and burglary charges. When I went to the office to tell them this they didn't believe me and said i was spreading lies!! Well, then thank goodness I had the whole ordeal on my phone in black and white to prove all of the horrible details. They knew they would not win in court. They r cowards. Then NHE tried to put me in the streets and sent lawyers after me while I was flat on my back as I had broken my back and couldn't walk for 3 months. I told them I would see them in court and a few weeks later they contacted me with an offer to renew lease if I signed a contract stating all sorts of things. They ran scared. I'm from Brooklyn,NY and I run circles around these redneck hillbillies. I have had it with them and their shenanigans, greed and evil ways. At lease we now have a much better company managing us. I can go on and on but I this is sufficient to get some idea. Please run as fast as u can from any property NHE manages. Blessings Sent to all. Horrible service - have had for several years, but has been problematic and now non-responsive to quarries

I live in Asheville at a apt complex that NHE used to manage. There is absolutely nothing good to say about this company. The only thing they care about is MONEY! They do not care about the tenants. They did many horrible things to me over the years and I was and still am one of the best tenants on this property. They stole my security deposit and tried to put me out of my apt and on the streets while I was very sick with a broken back. Sent their attys after ne with threatening letters telling me they would not renew my lease after years of my loyalty and care of their property never missing rent payments and keeping apt like a dollshouse. Our new property management company is so much better especially during the devastating hurricane helene we just experienced. I am so glad THAT NHE is no longer here and our community is much better. Beware of leasing with any NHE properties. You will regret it. read more

Unfortunately I have to agree with what Eric said in his post from a month ago. I'm also trying to get answers and responses in a timely manner about open topics in my neighborhood but unfortunately without success. I'm not sure if the person in charge is just not qualified or the workload is too high bottom line is a lot of the statements in the emails that I receive make no sense or are not up-to-date or just provide answers to some of my questions. Not even when I escalated to management I get a response. They are good in increasing the monthly HOA fee but apparently that doesn't mean that they are capable or willing to provide a service for this. It is also very concerning to see that in the last few years the person in charge has changed several times. read more

Instead of setting your community up to succeed independently, they will cause problems through incompetence, poor decision making, and hostile communications. Communication is absent and not a priority. NHE will not communicate with phone calls which is a major issue. Only way to reach a human even during working hours is to select emergency and then you are transferred to a call center. Email is only way I have found that works but this option is not effective either in appropriate timeframe. Very disappointing organization and will not respond nor take care of issues appropriately! Chartwell Estates H.O.A. is utterly ridiculous and thieves. They have a rule where you can not park on the street 30 feet from a stop sign or intersection but, do not have 30 feet marked out by a sign so that the residents know where not to park. I guess we are supposed to keep a tape measure in our vehicles and get out and measure 30 feet before parking.We home owners pay H.O.A. fees to have our vehicles towed by non-sensical rules that we pay for. The tow was $240 which is some people's car payment, a utility bill, a grocery bill. In the economy we live in they are looking for more ways to take from our pockets, UNACCEPTABLE! What's even worse is that you have a former H.O.A. Board Member who is no longer on the board due to inappropriate behavior riding around Chartwell Estates on a Saturday (obviously with no life and nothing better to do), when people normally have friends and family come to visit, calling the tow truck company contracted to tow our vehicles all day. He had 15 vehicles towed today according to the tow guy. This also is UNACCEPTABLE BEHAVIOR! All Chartwell Estates residents need to show up to the next H.O.A. meeting to address this ridiculousness as well as much more or it will continue. read more
