This is a fantastic place that I'm guessing someone from Brighton has bought as it has that really nice relaxed, bohemian feel about it that you wouldn't expect in a 16th Century building in sleepy Steyning. The decor is really nice and comfortable and if the weather is good enough, you can't beat sitting in their garden with views of the South Downs while your enjoying your meal.
I've only been here for lunch but it was wonderful. Everything is locally sourced and freshly prepared. I had the haddock rarebit on toast with spinach and grilled black pudding which I thought was a really adventurous combination but it worked really well and was the perfect sized portion for lunch.
Its worth booking up or getting there early for lunch though as they do get justifiably busy here! read more
