I said "it slips out of the clasp and doesn't stay on I want the clasp replaced " and he looks at it and bends it and says it's fine. I trusted his word even though it didn't look fixed. Today I was working and I'm a delivery worker and I usually feel my chai to make sure it's there every hour or so and felt my neck and the pendant was not there and the chain was hanging from my neck unclipped. He is a rude lazy man and does not care about other people. Never go to him if you want any jewelry repaired. Awful I wish I could give him 0 stars

I bought a Seiko watch for $45, it arrived DOA---he maintained (in Ebay listing and in email later) that it was working with a new battery when he shipped it, stands to reason it should have been working when it arrived---Not. Said he would pay to have it shipped back---which I did---just don't select the wrong shipper or he won't pay (oh, he paid, but only after rudely berating me and calling me names, in a psychopathic email rant). Prior to the nasty email, I presented two choices, and he picked another Seiko to send out, only it quit working too, and didn't send it. He then picked a third watch (Citizen) and sent it out, waiting to see how that turns out---don't even want to risk a return evolution (see previous customer interaction). John is not someone to do business with, and being a psychopathic, egocentric, arrogant, rude business owner, with no customer service skills, should be avoided.

Brought it in and not only loose,suddenly had a chip in it!!!! I'm convinced merchant chipped it when originally tightened it since after 18 years of endless wearing, never a problem. Meanwhile brought in my wedding band at same original time as engagement ring and now diamonds loose and after bringing it back with engagement ring to have diamond fixed in it, ring needs small diamonds. A very upsetting experience with two rings of so many years suddenly chipped diamond and lost diamonds!!! Plan on having engagement ring appraised to make sure it's the original diamond. and I paid a lot if money without even questioning the cost. Don't trust this store!!!

I cannot speak highly enough of this Jewelry store! It has all the charm and commitment of a family-owned business that gives old-school service to its customers. My godmother first recommended me to Nicholas Jewelers when I was looking for a cross for my nephew's baptism in NJ. We went to Nicholas Jewelers and I found a beautiful gold cross for a very reasonable price. Then, I returned last December when I was visiting my family to buy my girlfriend a pair of earrings for Christmas/New Year. They were stunning, tri-colored gold (white, yellow, and rose) in a very unique design of X's and O's. She loved them! At the same time he cleaned my Breitling watch and switched the band in about 15 minutes (with no previous appointment and they were packed) for a good price. Most recently, I was looking for an engagement ring and I called Nicholas Jewelers. We had already been to about 5 other jewelry stores in North Carolina before we spoke to Nick. I told him exactly what we wanted and he told me that he would handcraft the engagement ring and both wedding bands and I could see them with absolutely no obligation to buy. He called a few weeks later, sent me a few pictures, and my mother and godmother went to look at the rings. Not only were they what we had envisioned, they were much more! And the price was better (and included the entire set) in comparison to what we were quoted for a lower-grade diamond engagement ring at the other jewelry stores we had visited. My fiancée is absolutely happy with the engagement ring! I strongly recommend that you give Nicholas Jewelers a visit the next time you are in need of jewelry. read more

I have been coming to Nicholas since I moved here 17 yrs ago... in fact I've never gone anywhere else except this month being that I lost my wedding ring set on r last vacation. So, my husband being the handsome, bright and calm good man he is said "I guess I gotta buy u a new ring for Christmas (calmly)". Naturally, we checked out other jewelry stores for this purchase and guess where we decided to buy. The owner/jeweler put it into an ultrasonic bath which is a bath machine for jewelry that uses high-frequency vibrations in liquid to shake dirt loose, but it can also shake stones out of older, fragile settings. So more stones fell out after doing this. I was then told to pay for reseating all three, even though only one was missing when I dropped it off. Polishing was also started without my consent. When I questioned why an ultrasonic was used on such an old piece, the owner told me I "don't know s**t" and brushed the ring off saying it was probably made in Asia. The whole experience was strange and disappointing with hidden charges, and unprofessional conduct. It is unfortunate since I had very great service with the lady previously who always helped me with my watches, but after this unpleasant experience, I will not be returning.
