A picture is worth a thousand words. Blaine's paired two opal stones to create earrings to match my necklace December 2023. One was much lighter and by May 2024 faded to clear yellow. Blaine's stated they had never seen this happen, stated we would be called to preview the replacement before it was set. I was called to pick them up and simply stated we were disappointed we weren't called to preview before set. The owner's comments, "You must have left them in a hot car. (I asked how hot a car would have to be and was told to "google it"). Those earrings were filthy. You must have chipped them. If I had a Suburban and the window broke I wouldn't bring it back to the dealer! I should really charge you to reset them." Lacking professionalism. Drove two hours each way to come to this great mom and pop shop! Hit traffic on the way there, they kept the store open for me! Showed up with a picture and what I thought my wife wanted for an engagement ring. It was perfect she was so happy and so I was I. Exactly what we wanted. I was very disappointed with my ring cleaning and bracelet (I requested to have stones placed where they were missing). I dropped off my engagement ring for a cleaning and it took 4 weeks for me to get it back. I was originally told that the cleaning one be done in a week and would receive a phone call. Never did and I called and dropped in 3x. By the 4th call, I asked to pick up my ring and bracelet. They said they would get it done by the time I arrived. They were still working on my bracelet as I walked in. The ring glowed, but the bracelet I dropped off was missing a stone. I won't be going back and found another place that was able to clean my ring while I wait and who were able to add the stone that was missing... All in one hour. read more

I've been shopping at Blaines Jewelry Box for over 3 years and spent around $25,000 total on all of my jewelry and $17,000 of that was in the last 9 months. I recently questioned the price of the pieces I've bought when I was inquiring about the total worth of all of my jewelry. When I went in and asked for a total, I was told I paid about $10k-$11k. I was extremely shocked because I spent $18,500 on what I was wearing that day. Since I was so shocked and confused, I asked what if I was going to sell it right now and they told me I would get about $5,000. I've bought a gold diamond bracelet which I paid $6,000 for, a gold chain with a custom cross including diamonds that I paid $5,000 for, 2 gold rings with diamonds totaling $6,000 and a gold diamond cross and wedding band for my wife totaling $3,000 I was overcharged double and even triple based on what other jewelers priced my pieces for before I even mentioned the prices that I paid. I went to numerous jewelers in NJ and 3 others in NY and was given a significantly lower price on those same pieces. I was told I've been "robbed" with the money I spent on all of that. I was recently interested in another gold diamond bracelet at Blaines and inquired about the price and was told it cost $9,000 when other jewelers were selling the same bracelet for around an average price of $6,000. I was very confused by the $9,000 price from Blaines so I started to ask them why one of my pieces was the price that it was and I couldn't get a straight answer. The owner tried explaining that "oh it has to do with the setting and how the diamonds are placed" but that isn't a valid answer. After going to a few other jewelers and getting other prices, I then went back and asked Blaine's about my diamond ring which cost me $4,200 with no questions asked because I trusted them. They kept dancing around and not giving me a definitive answer on why I paid that price. Don't get me wrong, the workers at Blaines are very nice and treat you like family but unfortunately, they took that to their advantage and overcharged one of their best customers and thought I would never notice which in result has forced me to shop elsewhere. So please, do your homework and spend the time to shop around because it's not one or two dollars you are losing, it is THOUSANDS. read more

They got my ring back to me in no time at all and made sure it was everything I could of wished for and more. I tried to get a Gucci watch I purchased from Macy's repaired through Macy's own repair service. They called back saying it would be $450 and the warranty they made me purchase wouldn't cover it. My husband has purchased estate jewelry for me at Blaine's over the years. When I got the watch back I brought it to Blaine's that same day. On the spot they fixed it for me for $9!!! Great family run business that my husband and I will always have as our first choice when doing any sort of jewelry or watch fix and purchase.
