Such a great dental practice for our boys, we don't mind the drive!…read more We were referred here when our current family dentist found a cavity in our 4 year olds tooth. They tried to fill it, but he had anxiety...enter the least stressful dental experience ever. First, let's talk about booking...super easy and friendly ensuring they accounted for all of my son's needs. All paperwork was sent ahead of time for me to fill out. Now the space, it's friendly and bright and welcoming. Each chair has a tv for kids to pick their movie. The dentist and staff explain everything clearly to the kids to ensure they are ready. They take their time. Bonus: they requested costumes as our appointment was close to Halloween, so fun!!

Such a nice dental office tailored towards kids. Wonderful customer service from check in to check out. The front desk girl was so nice and welcoming and very friendly and helpful in explaining first visits and what to expect. The lobby is nice and inviting for the kids with TV's interactive wall pads and books and learning games. Our hygienist was so nice and great in explaining everything to our little one and what to expect. He was so good and cooperative. Surprised both me and Nana. They have a movie to help distract the kids and explain and show everything they are going to do before they do it. The only thing I questioned a little was putting the cleaner head on my kids hand and then in his mouth. I thought she would swap out the cleaner, but not so. Not a biggie, and maybe I'm just a germo-phobe. Dentist was great. So friendly and so gentle with our toddler. Explained things well and very nice. Absolutely so glad we chose this place and they have other locations.

It was something different for me, so I gave it a try and really enjoyed it. The inside of the office was super cool and well put together. I also loved that they had a TV on the ceiling, so I was able to watch Love Is Blind Season 8 on Netflix while getting my teeth cleaned. All in all, I definitely trust them with my dental care. They provided great insights on some of the issues I was dealing with, and I'm looking forward to coming back in six months. They do have a parking lot, though it's on the smaller side. However, it's never too busy, so parking isn't really an issue. The service was great, and the front desk staff did a good job of greeting me when I came through the door.

Parents, please pass on West 7th. As we all know, flu, strep, and norovirus germs have been hitting…read moredaycares and schools this month and life is just crazy - especially with the holiday season and just being full-time working parents of two. After a week of recovering from our toddler and our baby's rotating illnesses, we called first thing today to reschedule an appointment for our 4 year old toddler who has been a patient at West 7th Dental before. We called them at 8am today for a 10am appointment the following day. They said they would charge us a $50 fee to reschedule, despite us giving 24 hours notice. (Today is also a Monday, so the only way we would've been able to call them when they were open was to predict we couldn't make a Tuesday appointment on the previous Thursday (since they're closed Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays...?). I understand that some places may need a 48 hour cancellation notice, but for a clinic that offers pediatrics services to young children who, let's face it, get sick constantly- we were frustrated. We are responsible parents who schedule appointments in advance and fill out questionnaires beforehand, so even more frustrating was just the customer service. I am disappointed and surprised at the lack of flexibility and empathy, especially since both owners have two kiddos and because we have always gone here for our daughter's check ups (see the rave review I left them 2 years ago that I want to retract given today's experience. There was no compassion or grace provided, despite being a repeat patient). We called and said we would transfer our dental care elsewhere and the response was "Ok." I don't think I've ever left such a negative review, but I wanted to provide a warning to other parents to skip West 7th Dental. I was so hesitant to post this review but in talking to some of my mom friends, they insisted other parents would want to know. This is on their home page: "Our practice was first imagined with a shared desire to provide exceptional dental care in our communities, while creating a trusting and family-oriented atmosphere. You will experience friendly, patient-centered care in a warm, welcoming environment. Every time." Dr. Iburg and Dr. Hughes, this is inaccurate given our disappointing experience with you, especially with the family-oriented and patient-centered callouts. My husband has been a patient at Mendota Dental and we look forward to now bringing both our daughters there. Their customer service, from calling in today and scheduling, to their understanding if we need to reschedule, already surpasses our experience at West 7th.

Despite the fact that I had a referral letter I offered to send to them, the receptionist refused to schedule an appointment unless my dentist sent over the same letter to their portal. I have never run into this at any other endodontic clinic, and felt to me like I was being treated as a child who could not be trusted to handle their own referral paperwork. I don't know who would lie about an infected tooth to get a root canal. Throughout the conversation, the receptionist was rude, accusatory, and unhelpful. She even lied to me when I told her I would be paying out of pocket as they were not covered under my insurance. She told me that paying out of pocket for out of network care was committing fraud. Which is not only stupid, but incorrect. A simple google search will tell you that is wrong, you can seek care wherever you want as long as they don't try to bill your insurance if they are out of network. This level of unprofessionalism and ignorance gives me serious concerns about their business practices. I would recommend seeking care elsewhere, I know I will be.

Not to mention people are terrified of getting root canals, but the horror stories you hear are of the toothache that made you need one, not the actual procedure. Yes, we dentists are creepily noisy, it's hard holding your mouth open, etc, but the procedure was completely painless and afterwards, I had some nice hot coffee, and later some ice water, forgetting that I no longer had to contort my tongue to cover up my previously painful tooth! I smiled and said a silent thank you to Dr. Zucker and team!! Now I'm shouting it out on Yelp.
