Hands down - BEST customer service, quality, and responsiveness…read more There are a MILLION pool companies so at the end of the day, you get a pool. Here is why Pool Envy in PHENOMENAL: 1. Highly communicative and full transparency. We knew every single thing that was about to happen. They were sure to let us know what the next step was, how long the current step would take. There was never an unannounced delivery or work team. 2. Quality teams: From the owner Chris, to the team that came to pick up the debris and leftover materials at the end, every team was highly professional, courteous, timely, and just overall a true pleasure to deal with. 3. Education: we are first time pool owners and there are a lot of things that have to be decided. Juan and there will be a whole section about Juan and how amazing he is - Juan the project manager explained everything. Gave us options. For instance the gas line was not run around our yard but the gas company just went completely diagonal through our yard () and Juan with zero pressure explained the pro's and con's of having the gas co do it or hiring a certified plumber to do it. There were a few things like that where just shoddy work done in our home from the original builders discovered that Juan was able to provide a solution - sometimes not even pool related! 4. Quality: the quality of workers that came to our home are second to none. The care and pride they took in their work was so impressive. They were TRUE craftsmen at every step. Watching them spend time to get even the smallest glass piece perfectly straight without any prompting was just one example of the care, quality and professionalism EVERY team showed. Recommendations: during the build, we learned a lot about service and care and such. So some things we didn't know as first timers: - we had no clue about the design build. It was highly overwhelming to pick out decking and just all the cool stuff but they were enormously patient with us and explained the pros and cons with no pressure or up-selling at all. - you have to have a tall fence. We have a 6ft fence all around except our gate was waist high. Our fence company is no longer in business and Pool Envy had some recommendations. The fence is no part of the pool but Juan definitely stayed on top of them to make sure the fence would pass inspection - service. You can clean your pool and work the chemicals or have someone do it. Again, pool envy had a recommendation that we even met and had quotes ans interviews with other companies and we went with their reco. NOT Bc if value or anything like that but because of the SERVICE. Andrew came and educated us first. Showed us what needed to be done and explained we could totally do it ourselves. He was throrough and concise. - landscaping (Henry Vasquez landscaping) - he was someone we found separately to help lay sod And design the areas around the pool and he was amazing. On par with quality and Pool Envy asked for their card. So they recognize quality - many other examples like this. Just the epitome of quality and customer service. 5. Project Manager Juan: I have no words. If we didn't know better, we would have thought we were Juan's only customer. There was not one piece of these many, many moving parts that Juan didn't have total control and awareness of. He stopped by our home EVERY day before and after workers were there to assess the work. If there was any sort of issue, we didn't know because he had it handled. Even now when it's done and the sign is gone from the yard and final bill is paid, it rained and he stopped by just to make sure water isn't pooling and everything is flowing how it should. My dog loved him, when he showed up my kids would run out yelling "Juan is here" -- and there are a LOT of moving pieces. Not once was there a delay. Once one team was done, the next team was there the next day. He never seemed rushed, spent as much time as needed. Would listen and answer our ENDLESS questions and never once were we surprised by any next step. And for the record we were not his only build. He had 10 happening at different stages at the same time as ours. Here is the thing. It seemed - Gone are the days of quality and customer service and that is just not the case. Pool envy was amazing from start to finish. High quality, above and beyond customer service, and true craftsmanship. I have full confidence that our pool is impeccably built and the level of service we received is beyond anything. Highly, highly recommend.

They knocked everything out quicker than anyone else I talked to, and the quality came out way better than I imagined. They really went above and beyond -- can't recommend them enough.

After reading some of the negative reviews, they are all related to my issues, if you don't want to…read morebelieve me, believe the trend. See below for details. I was very pleased with my pool and service for the first couple of months, but then the problems started. In short, they do a fair job on the structural, but they use cheap materials for the cosmetic part (plaster, tile, grout, pavers, turf, etc.). Quality of materials used and unresponsive to warranty. Most of the issues will appear around the 6-month mark, then they'll tell you they are very busy and please be patient someone will address it, then when your warranty expires, they say is your fault or it is normal. Full disclosure, they did address some minor issues as a "favor". But some of the issues came back because the problem is the quality of the material they used/offer. Their pricing is above most pool builders by at least 50% - I assumed paying premium was a way of having certainty I wouldn't go through this. I was wrong. There were several (minor?) issues when the pool was finished, but I was told "It is normal or will correct itself", after a few months passed they were "gracious" on coming and fixing some of the things I was complaining about, mostly cosmetic and one related to the pumps. Issues: - Pool pump will shut down after using the spa or just by switching it on. They fixed this with some sort of regulator at no cost. - Paid for an upgrade on the water scuppers, they rusted very quickly (I would assume they used element resistant material, or high quality, but I was wrong). After MANY emails and probably a year after, they finally "fixed" it by applying a coating that will prevent rust, so far it has worked, but I am sure this will be a problem in the months to come. - Stone pavers, they looked great for the first 2 months... after a couple of heavy rains, they are all misaligned some sank, some popped up. This upgrade was expensive, and they don't sand by the quality they announce. - Plaster. from day 1 i noticed the color was not uniform. I asked them and they told me it was normal and will become uniform as I brush or clean my pool. A year after, the pool looked the same. They came back and did an acid wash of the pool. The plaster color now is uniform but not the color I selected, also I got an upgrade to have shiny shell bits and after the acid wash, they are now white dots. After I asked for a resolution, they are deaf to my questions and they only response I am out of warranty, even when plaster is 10 years. On top of everything, the plaster is falling off. - Water sheer descent. They installed a descent where the water flows in chunks, not as a single downflow, so it looks weird. They say is my fault because I don't clean it. Although I clean it, I don't think is supposed to act that way. A second service person came and said, Oh we have to open the thing a bit more, he did, improved a little but same outcome. To the point we never use the sheer descent, because it looks ugly. - Tile and Grout. The tile we picked at the design center is not made for pool or outdoor, it absorbs the elements in the water and environment and became stained. The grout they use is permeable as well, so scaling surfaced easily. Had issue also with the coping, turf, and other minor things that I decided to leave out, so the post is not even longer. They also claim to be ALL-American, and most of the contractors they use are immigrants (nothing wrong with that). But just beware, it is just another lie. I don't know how a company can say to you "God bless" when they are so dishonest.

Eventually the pool started loosing water as well, suggesting that the leak propagated to the ground. I called Eckel to obtain a quote to rebuild and retile spa wall. After filling out web request form and a few text messages I had a call from their rep and he told me I need to start by getting a professional water leak detection service (their referral) that cost $600. I told him that I'm pretty sure the leak is in the spa wall and would like a quite for spa rebuild/retile. He insisted that the leak can be anywhere and I must start with leak detection service. I decided to plug the spa return line so the spa water level never reached the damaged wall area and ran the pool for 24 hrs, no water loss. That conclusively proved that the leak is in the spa wall (that was confirmed later following spa rebuild/retile with different company). I talked to Eckel rep again and he still insisted that professional water leak detection is a must. I then agreed to have a quote that included the leak detection service. I had to fill out yet another web form to schedule a visit. All other companies would send someone to take a look and provide a quote via simple phone text or call. More that 3 weeks passed, during which I got quotes, chose a vendor and performed a repair, without unneeded $600 leak detection service. I am yet to hear anything from Eckel. What a tone deaf, inflexible and unresponsive company that completely fails to listen and properly and promptly follow up with the customer!
