Birds crammed into tiny cages, rodents inbreeding in one area, a flock of lovebirds in a tiny cage inbreeding, everything smells like rat urine, birds look sick (eyes closing, lethargic, etc), all animals were panting and overheating. would definitely benefit from more fans maybe on the animals. There was an extremely mean person who was giving everyone a hard time for just talking to the birds. The person was angry, staring at everyone and answering questions like she was mad at everyone. Would definitely not recommend, nothing looks healthy. read more

I came here today for the first time and im so glad I did! This place is great they have such a cool variety of birds and other animals.as soon as I walked in I was helped and my birds wings were clipped in seconds and the price was better than I've ever heard of. I have been buying feeder rats here for my ball python. The store itself is really cool to visit. Lots to see. However every time I purchase feeder rats here my snake gets mites. Clearly they're not prioritizing quality and cleanliness. It's unfortunate because they're really the only place near by that sells feeder rats. read more

WORST PLACE ON EARTH. The cruelest place I've ever seen, breaks my heart for the beautiful animals that have to live in this filth trap... crying walking out of this place to see this happen... beautiful birds being torture, clipped and forced in tiny cages, being fed horrible diets, and having no perches, no toys, and only their own poop to play with. Not sure what all the "sensitive" reviews are all about lol!!!??? I think the place is fine!!! And the service too! Never had a problem. I get my dragon's food...the guy is always prompt...the food is fresh/unlike commercial pet stores where half the stuff is dead (crickets, worms)...and very reasonably priced. Im not a bird person, but it seems they have a beautiful selection of exotic birds. If you know your stuff, this is the place....skip the corporate crap!!! Shop local!!! read more

This place has been utterly amazing to us. We were able to get a wonderful Chinchilla, and from there able to get all assortment of things for Winston, and the staff has been wonderful. My fiance loves the place and every time we go there we want to take another furry friend home. I don't understand why other people don't like it as much as we do, but we have never had anything bad happen while shopping there. They are good people who really love animals. read more

Trish is certified in Macaws and is very patient and helpful with all my questions and I had plenty. Would My. I went to the store looking for a bearded dragon for my son's birthday. They had these tiny little dragons. They were the 5th pet store I had been to that day. They were so cute and so much smaller than all the other stores. I picked out one without much help from the associate. We brought him home and within 2 days he did not look well. He was very thin. We had the right size cage, lighting, food, water, temperature, and humidity. He died two days later. I don't think they were supposed to be selling them so tiny. We went to another store and bought one. The new one is healthy and growing fine. read more

I would give zero stars if I could. I have been a long time loyal customer and really didn't have much of a complaint except for one staff members attitude. I purchased a reptile from them and within 6-8 hours the animal passed away. I reached out to Nick's about what resolution their could be, they read my messages and failed to respond! There is no signage or waiver anywhere that says anything about no refunds or exchanges or anything. TERRIBLE customer service!!!! read more

If you're an exotic pet owner, or not a typical pet owner, this place is just AWESOME!!! I got feeders there today for my reps, and I was impressed. You won't find cats or dogs here, but if you are looking for chickens, goats, snakes, birds, tarantulas, turtles, and/or frogs as pets, they have tons of lovely animals there. The place is open to the outside so the animals are in the fresh air, some are kept inside. Tons of supplies are sold for whatever you need. Far better than a commercial/corporate store, and I will definitely be going back. read more

If zero stars was an option that would still be too many stars. I purchased a cockatiel from this pet store about a year ago (as its the only pet store anywhere near us) and it lived about 2 weeks before I found it dead at the bottom of the cage one morning. Talked to the guys at Nicks and they didn't even acknowledge me let alone do anything to make it right. Then, like a complete idiot, I purchased a severe McCaw from Nicks just 2 weeks ago. I figured maybe I did something wrong or it was a one off and that I'd give them one more shot. Plus the bird was so friendly I just couldn't resist. Got it all the food, toys, supplements, etc... that any Macaw could ever want....then 2 weeks later, found it dead at the bottom of the cage. Called Nicks, 4 times b/c each time I got some BS excuse about having to call back. Last time I called they said, too bad its your fault bird was healthy. This place SUCKS, and I'm thinking maybe its b/c the hillbillies that work there are non stop chain smoking...Pretty sure birds don't love Marlboro reds all day long. My fault for giving them my business not once but twice. I'm just leaving this review to help keep anyone else from making the mistake of buying anything from this S-hole. read more

I was looking for a new bird stand and saw the main picture on their website which shows several nice stands. When I arrived, I let the guy, smoking inside, know that I was looking for a stand (I was standing in front of about 5 floor stands) - he told me they didn't have any. At first, I thought he was joking because there were 5 right in front of us but he was not joking. Ok, maybe those stands are to let the parrots that I could hear but not see hang out on and were not for sale. He then said that he had one and showed me a really large and expensive one on the other side of the store. Before I could ask him anything, his friends came in and made it clear that they wanted to chit chat with the employee. I walked further into the store and saw a pile of wood perches, table top and floor stands in the process of being built, and a table saw. I walked back over to the group and I stood in front of the man for a minute or so before he decided to answer another question from me. I asked if he had any wood for perches and he showed me the pile of wood branches and started quoting me ridiculous prices for branches of non-exotic wood pulled out of the back yard. I then questioned the many stands that I saw and the table saw. He told me it was just someone messing around and I didn't want any of those stands and walked away leaving me wondering why the hell I drove all the way out here and I left without the employee (employer??) and his friends saying one more word to me. It was a very weird experience and not a funny, "ha ha" weird experience. read more
