Review as of Dec 2025. This place has been getting ALOT of buzz on the social media sites, so a group of 6 of us thought we'd come thru on an early (6pm) Saturday night to check it out. The inside is completely decked out for Xmas, and its definitely something to see. At 6pm the place was already pretty full, no open tables (other than 1 that was "reserved"..more on this later..) and the bar was at least 2-deep all the way around. We had planned to eat and have a couple drinks, but with it all 8-10 "tables" (5 booths, 5 tiny round drink tables) already filled, we were left to stand and wait/hope to catch a seat or table from someone leaving. Luckily we were able to grab a small drink table that had 5 seats around it within 20 mins...must have been our lucky day, as many other people stood for at least 1-2 hours. The food looked good...but...you had to order from the bar, which had grown to 3-4 deep by 7pm...so we just opted for drinks. Bartenders were hustling all night, felt sorry for them, but I assume automatic 18% gratuity on every order ensures they aren't being cheated. Back to the "reserved" table....well...for the 2+ hours we were there the table that could have held 10+ people was never used. What a bad idea and a poor look for a crowded spot. Why not allow it to be used up until 15 min of the reservation time? Honestly, the place is just OK, cool to see the decoration, but WAAAAAAAAAY overhyped for what it is. Also of note, by 9pm there was a waiting line outside the place with at least 50-60 people waiting to get it. The food here is so bomb, the wings are my favorite. And the service was so great. It's so cool coming here, never had a bad experience. I also love their Photo Booth and their bartenders are dope. Mickey helps us out every time and takes care of us. She even remembered our names which was such a personable thing someone could do! She's so bubbly and funny and we all cracked jokes together. Visited Nickel City while they had the Christmas pop up bar. It was beautiful and so festive! Of course this place was packed but the bartender was quick and helpful. The food is delicious. I thought the patty melt and the slider basically tasted the same; only difference was the bread in my opinion. So I'd probably recommend the slider since it's the cheaper option. read more

Came here for a happy hour after work. The inside has such a nice, fun decor. It was pretty packed too. If anything, I would have thought it was a weekend as opposed to a weekday afternoon. There was a little but of a wait but entirely reasonable. I got a mojito. It was my first time having a mojito since I'm not really much of an alcohol person in general. I get red and flushed from all alcohol. Honestly, I still don't even know what's in it. Though it tasted pretty refreshing and crisp. If there's any critique, it was maybe a bit too tart. Festive and fun hangout in Fort Worth's newly revitalized Main Street area! A bunch of my coworkers and I gathered here after a shift and really enjoyed the fun holiday vibes. The decor goes all out and definitely gets you in the holiday spirit. They also had a festive drink menu, which added to the ambiance. We sat inside to start, then moved to the back patio. The patio would have been nice in warmer weather, but was a little chilly for December. There is a food truck in the back that served pretty typical bar fare. We ordered some tater tots which were decent, but took a while to come out. You order via a QR code and it lets you know what time your order will be ready, but it was easily an extra 20 minutes. That said, it was also extremely busy. Even inside the bar, ordering drinks took 30 minutes or more as just getting the bartender's attention took some real effort. Add that the drinks were pretty pricey, even for cocktails. Expect to wait in line to enter during high demand times as well. That said, it's definitely worth going and is really fun, but we ended up leaving to get a less crowded vibe. I can see why it's as popular as it is! read more

Super cute bar! I went after the holidays unfortunately because I hear they go all out with their decor! My friends and I got a bunch of food and shared it all which I definitely feel was the move. There wasnt anything I had that I didnt like although I do wish they had a veggie option on their menu because the meal left me desiring something fresh. I think the closest thing they have to a veggie on their menu is pickles or jalapeño poppers. I dont drink and they did have a couple of mocktails! Somewhere under 10 which I still think is a fine variety. I had the disco dust mocktail and omg it was sooo yummy! I loved the coconut milk in it. Shocking they have had to post DONT STEAL signS all over the venue - really ? Shame shame you dirty thieves!!! We try to make it here during Christmastime each year. Nickel City does it right with amazing decor and a special holiday mixed drink menu with some unusual but very good drinks in special mugs or other glassware. I recommend the Christmasaurus and the Jingle Balls Nog. Some times can be crowded, but a nice relaxing experience. Pretty consistent although there have admittedly been times I walked in and backed out due to large crowds, if you'd do the same I'd recommend week days or early weekends. The last few times I've been here Connor greets me warmly and always remembers what I had the time before as I can sometimes be indecisive. I haven't yet had a bad experience, but have been around some not so friendly staff a time or two, but backup usually helps them recover. The first visit here I was given background on the history of the bar and work it took to get it shipped to TX, and it adds some character to the space giving it somewhat of a 'Cheers' vibe, iykyk. Everyone needs to visit Nickel City, especially at Christmastime. It's one of those trendy bars that does Christmas really big -- everything is decked out in decor, wrapping paper covered walls and tables, cutesy figurines all over, ornaments hanging from the ceiling, garland galore. They have a holiday menu with festive craft cocktails served in speciality, holiday glassware, like Santa's boots and "Naughty & Nice" Santa shot glasses. Super cute and really fun. I was sad to hear that a lot of their Christmas decor gets stolen, so they do bag checks on your way out the door. Stop stealing things, people! What the hell?! The bar here is so beautiful and the bartenders are all stellar. They really make a lovely cocktail and have all the right goodies for an impressive drink. I'm always impressed by their beautiful array of ingredients and garnishes all laid out pretty and ready. And then they have totally simple stuff on the menu, like PBR and corn dogs and wings. I've been here before prior to the holiday display. My first visit was unpleasant. I wasn't even welcomed or served when I arrived on a Saturday day. Decided to revisit for the new set up. Door guy wasn't friendly. Should probably hire someone that will be acclimated to long lines and customer service. Although the bar was busy, service wasn't bad. Tried a speciality shot and it was disgusting but oh well will never order seasonal cocktails again. Switched to what I like and just enjoyed the atmosphere. Nickel City in Austin is my favorite bar. I was happy to check out this location in Fort Worth while in the area. Some of the cocktail menu drinks vary from the one in Austin but no worries there. You can always find something delicious to drink here. Plus I was happy I could order my tots from Delray. My husband and I only stopped for one drink as we were heading back to Arlington to see a baseball game. The staff was friendly and overall a great experience. Came here to check out their Black Lagoon pop up for Halloween. They have a good 90s alternative rock ambience. When we came here for our ladies night, the place was packed and it was a Friday night. It did take a long time to order drinks but the bartenders were helpful and moved as fast as possible to make sure they took care of everyone. I didn't enjoy the Black Lagoon Halloween Specialty drinks, because I found them to be spicy and strong. I stuck with beer the rest of the night. I think I tried a drink called Hellraiser and Some skull drink, both I did not like. I ordered some lemon pepper chicken tenders with fries, and they were delicious!! Flavorful and fresh.
