My neighbor was having landscaping and concrete work done on THEIR property. A employee of Nick's Mowing Service came onto MY property with a empty bucket and left with a full bucket of water. He used the water faucet on the front of my home WITHOUT permission. I have video of the incident. Called the office 2 weeks ago to file a complaint; spoke to the young lady Who answered the phone. She verified her employees were in fact working next door and she would tell the owner. Still haven't received a response. read more

Disappointed and Let Down - Poor Concrete Work and No Accountability I recommended Nick's Mowing Services to my brother after seeing that they offered small concrete work--such as sidewalks--on their Facebook page. I now regret that recommendation. In October 2023, Nick's Mowing Services installed a new sidewalk at my brother's home for $2,500. The concrete wasn't ready-mix delivered by truck, but was instead mixed onsite by hand/machine. While that seemed a bit unusual, we assumed it was acceptable for a smaller project. From day one, the concrete looked off-- more sandy in color. We brushed it off at the time, assuming it was normal. However, by November 2024--just 13-14 months later--my brother noticed surface roughness and crumbling in some areas. With winter setting in, he waited until the weather improved to follow up. On April 22, 2025, he reached out to Nick's to express his concerns. The office said Nick would stop by to assess it, but no one ever showed. Ten days later, on May 2, he followed up with an email and included photos. The office manager replied--but instead of scheduling a visit, she casually blamed the damage on salt. On May 15, after 23 days without any in-person assessment, he followed up again. The next day, the office responded with a series of questions: Did you use salt? Chemicals? Was the concrete sealed? He responded on May 19--realizing that their questions, combined with the lack of any site visit, made it clear they had no intention of taking responsibility. Yes, even experienced contractors can have issues--but what separates professionals is how they respond when problems arise. Shouldn't a responsible contractor also ask: * Did we have an off day? * Did we mix the concrete properly? * Was it a creaming issue? * Was there poor curing or a poor finishing technique * Did we set a solid concrete base The surrounding old concrete is still intact, while the new sidewalk is disintegrating. Most concrete in WNY is not sealed and is exposed to salt--but it doesn't crumble like this. City curbs take salt abuse year after year and still hold up. I believe the problem here is not salt--it's quality and workmanship. As of today- 42 days since the initial outreach--no one from Nick's Mowing Services has bothered to come inspect the work in person. The lack of follow-through, accountability, and professionalism has been incredibly disappointing. Nick's may be fine for lawn care--but based on our experience, they are not a 'go to' for concrete work. If you value quality, reliability, or any kind of post-job support, look elsewhere. I still hold out hope that Nick will do the right thing-- and if he does, I'll gladly update or revise this review. But as it stands, it was a costly and frustrating mistake to contract with Nick for concrete services. read more

He put in our sidewalk and after 16 months all of the slabs have started to crumble. He is insisting it is from salt. We didn't use salt on it. He would not even come out to look at how bad the damage is. So we are now responsible to replace it again. read more

I am going to have another contractor redo it. Also did concrete curbing that didn't take 30 days to start cracking. Cost me 3000.00 dollars and they will not stand behind their work. I scheduled a date and time, that was proposed by Nicks Mowing Service, to get a quote on a concrete curbing project. The company did a no-call no-show on the scheduled day and time. Based on other reviews on Google, it seems like this company has a reputation for being undependable. Based on my experience and other comments online, I recommend paying alittle more for a reputable/dependable company. read more

Would highly recommend. I hired Nicks mowing origanally for my lawn every week. They did such a great job I hired them for my drive way and side walk getting cleared during the winter and was NOT disappointed Great Service and very professional. This summer I had curbing done around the front of my house. Talk about curb appeal and what a difference it made to my home. NICKS MOWING is not just a mowing serving they are outstanding with their curbing skills . Next year I'm gonna curb around the little stone surrounding my pool. read more

We decided to use Nick's for their snow plowing service. I am better off buying a snow blower and doing it myself. I don't know if it is because I live a little past Cheektowaga and it is inconvenient for them or what but they never show. We signed a contact that stated they would plow the driveway by 10am. I think this only happened once. I have become so frustrated and when I call they have excuse after excuse or don't answer. Of course this is my personal experience with this company, who knows maybe people who live closer to Depew receive great service! read more

I had called Nicks and got an apt for a concrete edging quotation. They called to cancel several hours before due to a family emergency. I did not get the msg promptly and called asking where they were several hours later. Obviously crossed communications and failure on my part. Should have used my cell phone number rather than house phone where I have difficulty getting msgs. Since that time I have called 3x to reschedule with no calls back. I would would pass on this contractor for he seems not to know who the customer is and who pays his bills. Judging from the other reviews I saw, our experiences were similiar. read more

So extremely displeased with this company. My husband and I paid $900 to have the cement curbing for our back and side garden beds. The first thing we noticed after it was done that there was a huge mark that was very noticeable on the curbing on the side of the house. We requested Nick to come back out and look at it and we were told "a rabbit must have bumped into it or something" and he said he would re seal it and it would be better. Well, after re sealing it, it was still there with no change. We then noticed on the backyard curbing that there was a huge whole on the bottom near the grass on one side and our mulch was falling out of it. At this point we still had'nt mowed our yard anything that would have caused that. After calling and leaving 4 messages, the secretary lindsay finally called back and was argumentative right off the bat. She was extremely rude and even hung up on me. Finally, nick came back out to see what we were calling about and he barely looked at it and said that it was our fault that the cement broke and we were basically on our own. This was the worst decision we could have made to go through Nicks Lansdcaping services. We now have to take them to court to try to get some of our money back since they refuse to fix anything!
