The Olympia was full of meat! I loved the ground beef on it. The sauce was flavorful. The crust was great. The Melissa Had a Little Lamb pizza is a gyro pizza. Their is tsatziki sauce on the side. The baklava was some of the best I've ever had! The service was great. It took 6 calls to get through, but I'm happy I ordered. I now am aware that there are 2 numbers to reach Nick's at. They have great pizza's and we grew up with Nick's as one of the best Owatonna pizza options. Tonight we were in the mood for broasted chicken so we thought, why not try Nick's? It was horrible but not just the chicken. The chicken was over done--the photo shows that. In addition it was extremely salty, we couldn't even eat it. It was a $45+ loss. Because Nick's has a reputation in Owatonna, I wanted to share with them how we couldn't even eat the chicken and they should check it themselves before serving more of it tonight...so I called to let them know.... The phone was handed to someone to take my statement--this lady was short with me, cut me off, said they have already served a lot tonight with no complaints, and I was hung up on. It will be a long time before we go back to support Nick's as a small town business, if ever. Worse than the chicken was the customer service. I was asking for nothing but to be heard and that was too much to ask it seems. read more

Recommended to go here by a local person, not super impressed. Pizza was good, nothing unique or big flavors. Pizza was very sloppily thrown together, no care (see photo). Guy raging my order repeated everything I said as a question, and got a lot wrong even after I repeated myself numerous times. A nickel-and-dime-ya kinda place too--upcharge for a little extra sauce, no substituting spinach for olives, etc... Good, not great, prices not bad. Went in on a Tuesday evening at 6:30 - greeted immediately and asked to sign in (covid) - staff was masked, tables were spotless, and the restaurant seemed busy but running smoothly. The waitress grabbed our drink order, and was back immediately to deliver sodas and take our pizza order. While we waited for our pizza, a couple of different folks stopped by the table to check on us. Cheesy garlic bread was tasty and didn't take long at all - The pizza was effing awesome - worth every cent, and took less than 15 minutes I'd guess. We got the Olympia pizza (pepperoni, beef, sausage, onions, double cheese) and it was piping hot, loaded with ingredients, and had the perfect amount of cheese for us. WOW!!!! NICK'S PIZZA HAS TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! We ordered two pizzas last weekend. I can not eat green peppers and ordered one small pizza without. It took almost two hours for our pizzas to arrive (I did have to call once to ask about it). My pizza came with a lot of green peppers on it. I called back and they said they were very busy and could credit me. Remaking it was NOT an option. I just called tonight to order pizza again and let them know I had a credit. They said, yes, you have a $2 dollar credit...WHAT??? I questioned them about this and they said they were giving me credit for the messed up topping....REALLY!?! I couldn't eat any of the pizza!!! The staff AND manager was EXTREMELY RUDE!!! He said I was wasting his time!! He then offered to give me a 10% off on my $21.00 pizza I was going to order....WOW!!! I'm from Kansas and in town for work. Whenever I travel, I always try to find a pizza place that I can't get back home. I saw Nick's on Yelp, and I thought I'd give it a try. I kept it simple, ordering a pizza with pepperoni, sausage and extra cheese. It looked GREAT when they pulled it out of the oven, and it was AWESOME at the first bite! I almost felt bad that I couldn't finish it, but hey, I've got enough for lunch tomorrow AND the next day! On our hunt for an apartment in Owatonna my partner and I decided to stop and have lunch here, but were a little surprised to find that it was not actually open for lunch. Knowing that we were going to be in town during the dinnertime hours as well, we opted to try it out later. I am actually quite glad that we did! We ordered the Olympia which is basically just a double meat, double cheese, grease monstrosity of a pizza. Dripping gobs of amazing melty cheese, and huge hunks of meat. Hah, my mouth is starting to water again! The service here... was ok. The waitress was attentive, and our glasses never ran dry, but I could totally tell that this is a really town-y kind of place. Everyone knew everyone else, and I noted that people who ordered after us got their items much quicker than we did. I suppose after the move we will eat here more though. Have been eating there since I was about 9 years old. The dining room is small so if your eating inn check it out ahead of time. The thin crust pizza is exceptional. Georges special is one my favorites but don't miss the beef pizza it has super flavor. The Spaghetti and chicken is wonderful too. They have really kept up the traditions of Nicks all these years. I have been searching for great thin crust in the twin cites for awhile and its a bit hit and miss but when I am in Owatonna i always bring some back to the twin cities for everyone. The place is clean and well run. I would not order for delivery but I am fussy and i can drive 6 blocks and rush it home to my friends in half the time. OH have an update.. Had the kids in the restaurant and they both had the spaghetti. The plates were cleaned and they want more garlic cheese bread and they ate half my food.. So we ordered two pizzas for delivery. One cheese for the kiddos and the George pizza and the boneless buffalo wings from the menu. After waiting nearly an 1hr 45 mins our pizza finally arrived barely warm. The cheese pizza for kids was not cut and had barely any cheese for being a cheese pizza. The pizza we ordered for ourselves was actually good (would better if it was warm) and had plenty of cheese and was actually cut (but we still had to improvise with a pocket knife). The boneless wings were ok too and would have been better not being two hours old. The two stars mainly reflects the poor delivery service and poor cheese pizza (lack of cheese and not cut) for the kids. read more

This is not a professionally managed business. I ordered a large pizza with no red sauce (I'm allergic to red sauce preservatives). The phone operator repeated my order back to me as a large cheese pizza. I OK'd the order, and the pizza arrived with inedible sauce. I called back, *very* politely informed them they had placed an incorrect order, and the operator replied that "you OK'd the order" and that she would not refund it. I protested in the most reasonable way I could, and the argument continued briefly until (I can only assume) the manager was alerted that I had been "swearing at the server" (an absolute lie). Two others (with very little stake in how much I paid for my pizza) were in the room, and both confirmed that I had ordered the pizza with no sauce, received it with sauce, and ultimately did not swear at the server (at least, until the conclusion of the conversation). I've spent a good deal of money here, and it's a shame they're throwing away good business. It ruined an evening, and I'd recommend you find some other petty disagreement to focus on instead of confronting the staff here. Go to the Big Apple. Or even Domino's. If you try here, you're guaranteed inconsistent service. read more

Stop here on a trip to Ames, IA. Great alternative to fast food and was totally worth the extra time. It appears Owatonna has many pizza places and we chose this one because of the review on yelp. The pizza was thin crust and the toppings were plentiful. I felt the pizza could have used a few more spices but overall I was very satisfied with the flavor I noticed on one of the pizzas they were making they used sliced (not shredded) cheese which I guess is a clever way to make sure the entire pizza is covered. read more

I always come to Nick's pizza because I love the flavor. Lately the staff has been rude, inattentive and slow. George has to realize even good food is not worth it with bad service. Wish the employees will take hygiene more seriously, like wearing gloves when handling ready to eat foods. The George's special is the best! read more

I went to Nick's on a Monday night. We had a medium George (pepperoni, mushroom, Canadian bacon, double cheese) on a thin crust, based on the recommendation of the waitress. It was delicious! The staff was friendly and we ended up hanging out there for hours. The decor is very basic. You aren't there for the ambiance anyway. The pizza isn't cheap. If you want cheap pizza go to Dominos. If you want good pizza go to Nick's. I only dinged it a star because I don't think they have a wood-fired brick oven. It was just short of perfection. I rarely go to Owatonna, but next time I do I hope it's during dining hours so I can go back to Nick's. read more

This had to be the worst pizza I ever ate. I live in Wisconsin and even our worst pizza's have more flavor then this. The cheese was nasty and the sauce had no taste.
