Unfortunately, I would not recommend Stephanie D. McKenzie for couple counseling. I struggled with…read morerather or not to write this review, but I think it's worth telling. My partner wanted to give her a try. So we went to see her 3-4 times over the course of 1-2 years. We didn't see her often for two reasons, she was often unavailable and we both have done a horrible job of following through. Most sessions were just casual talking. There didn't seem to be anything organized before we arrived. Some form of homework was typically given. The sessions were done as a couple... there was one session in which he was sent out of the room and she talked to me for 20 minutes. So I genuinely felt like she didn't get to know me, not her fault at all. We just didn't go enough times. Which brings me to my next point... most recently, my partner wanted us both to go again. He emailed her and she told him... there was no need to bring me that I wasn't open to forgiveness. I was shocked. This really hurt me and I really found this to be quite unprofessional because she did not reach out to me at all. Even if I did give off that vibe... it's just not true. I want forgiveness for myself but I've struggled getting there having been hurt badly in the relationship. Hence why we were there. Never in a million years did I expect to get written off for the very thing I wanted help with. I did reach out to her and her response to me was my "energy" never showed an interest to heal. And she wishes I would heal. And "I'll need to do that". So if you're an imperfect being struggling with unforgiveness... this is not a safe place to heal. I would strongly suggest going elsewhere. Update: For clarification. Stephanie did not reach out to me with opportunities to meet as mentioned below.

When she came into my life by chance on a random encounter; I was not searching for a life coach and certainly didn't think I needed one until we started chatting. That's all she wrote for me! I was Wowed by how easy Lesa was to talk to and how when I spoke I knew she was listening to me with her whole heart and mind. I feel like Lesa brings a really unique aspect to this whole Life Coaching thing. She's definitely doesn't make our meetings feel like a therapy session or a dreaded appointment to talk about stuff. She's full of love, spunk, light, great listener and a strategic planner that has helped guide and assist me in tackling some of the issues I was having in an efficient and conscious manner. She also doesn't always tell me what I want to hear lol and I'm the kind of person that needs to hear the truth sometimes as I've been stuck in my old ways for a while and in my all too comfortable comfort zones She's helped me establish some much needed boundaries and has helped me plan for a better future in all aspects of my life. Thank you Lesa for helping me turn my life around and getting me from a "Surviving" status to a "Thriving" status!

I take away some nugget of wisdom every hour I am with him. I view my time with Troy as valuable for my emotional and mental health as much as my gym membership is for my physical health or my time in church for my spiritual health and I will pay for his services even if I am not going through some crisis or hardship at this point. Last thing I will say that has been important to me after using several therapists is people tend to search for a specialist or a certification that matches their prompt issue and that may work until your problem seemed fixed then you start questioning the value you get in subsequent visits. That has caused me to go in and out of different offices for about 10 years and I felt like I was rehashing the same issue over and over but in a different department. Troy has been my one stop shop and can really empathize with me in a variety of areas due to his own life experiences and journey. He has a lot of rapport from my standpoint as well as education which means a lot to me. I really cant say enough good things about him. Thank you for helping me navigate this journey of life.

The space has a cool, modern vibe without feeling over-the-top -- it's stylish but still comfortable. It doesn't feel like one of those loud, chaotic salons where you're just another appointment on the schedule. What stood out immediately was how intentional everything felt. Instead of jumping straight into the service, we actually had a real conversation about what I liked, what I didn't like about my current look, and what would realistically work for me day-to-day. I appreciated that honesty. I wasn't sold a dramatic change just for the sake of it -- the suggestions were practical and thoughtful. During the appointment, there was serious attention to detail. No rushing. No distracted energy. You can tell there's experience behind the chair. The final result looked polished but still natural -- like the best version of my hair, not something that felt forced or trendy for the sake of trendiness. What I liked most was walking out feeling confident, not just "freshly styled." There's a difference. The cut grew out well, the styling tips were actually useful, and I didn't feel pressured into buying products I didn't need. If you're looking for a place that blends skill with a relaxed, confident atmosphere -- not overly salesy, not overly dramatic -- this is it. I'll definitely be back.

The first few times I saw her, I was very overwhelmed and didn't know where to begin. I'll admit I cried a few times because I was stressed and felt like nothing I was doing was helping me. Allison sweetly calmed me down and presented a worksheet with sections to work on - an accountability sheet if you will. We broke my life into these sections: Family, Friends, School, Work, Hobbies (to name a few). She has helped me over the last few months to really set realistic expectations and I let her know as soon as I've completed each goal. Since working with Allison: my confidence has increased, I've been interviewing for jobs, I re-enrolled in school so I can finally get my degree, I'm working out again, I've learned to really speak my mind, and I've learned how to relax and not try to control the things I can't control. I look forward to our sessions and enjoy the time I get to spend with her. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND ALLISON!!!!
