The Director of Operations, Lexi is very unprofessional, and when I called to discuss an engagement letter that I had already sent along with credit card payment, she accused me of yelling at her (which was silly because voices weren't even raised) and telling me she was going to hang up because I told her that I have the executed documents that were sent months before, she did not care, or apologize, she only said it's expired for them so I need to pay $8 for them to send it again. read more

Nielsen Law Group was referred to me when I needed assistance with tax filing and accounting. Being a business owner, my taxes were not as simple as filing a personal return. I was thoroughly impressed with the time that Evan Nielsen spent with me one on one, discussing how I ran my business, what the tax code considered to be business versus personal deductions, and what the projections were for my taxes. He went through all standard business deductions with me, so that when I left I felt fully prepared. When I received the group's engagement letter, it had easy to understand worksheets which helped me to add expenses and deductions, and once the power of attorney forms were signed - the group handled all filing, correspondence, and any consequent phone calls to the IRS on my behalf. It made the stress of taxes and late filings completely melt away. The paralegals, as well as the attorneys in the group, kept me informed of any changes, updates, and the status of any filings. I received all correspondence from the IRS, but the group handled everything. I have used the group for more than two tax years, and I am so exceedingly pleased with their extensive experience, and personal individualized approach. I truly felt important, and any emails I sent with questions were answered immediately. The group not only handles taxes and IRS issues, but also Corporate structures, debt settlements, short sales, and foreclosure prevention. I'm confused by all of the 5 star reviews I used NLG for two years for my personal and LLC tax returns. Both years went very poorly. It seems as if they have certain clients who they prioritize above others. If you are not their priority, you are forgotten about. It was explained to me that the tax returns would be completed within 4 weeks of all documents being submitted. After 5 weeks, I didn't hear anything. Why? Because they hadn't even started... It was finally completed after 10 weeks! Even then, instructions were poor and confusing I definitely don't recommend NLG read more

I was referred to Nielsen Law Group, and unfortunately have not had a good experience. I am new to being an Independent Contractor, and tax protocols as a 1099 were not clearly explained to me by this firm. I had heard that you can be penalized for not filing quarterly as a business owner, and when I asked about this after two years of filings, I was told that yeah....that is probably a good idea since you can be penalized. Also, I had made a payment to the IRS for 2018, however, when I logged into the IRS it still said I owed. Levi and his team looked into this issue, then billed me $350, but still did not identify the problem. I then spent hours calling the IRS and it turns out it simple. My husband created the account, but because I paid the system did not recognize this...Shouldn't a firm tell you this upfront that whoever created the account should pay? Or after I tell them about the issue, maybe ask me who paid? They did drop the charge, and I was going to still use them for 2019. After many unanswered emails, I finally got a response stating that our relationship was mutually terminated. Very unprofessional firm and I would not recommend. read more

My wife and I are retired and we depend on several rental properties for income. I met Evan Nielson in early 2015 for a complimentary review of our 2013 returns; after looking at the return for about 45 seconds, Evan stated he could reduce our tax liability for 2014. Obviously I was elated. Evan also said he would like to file and amend our taxes for the three previous years. The next thing we knew we started to receive refund checks sent separately for all four years. Shortly thereafter, we get four letters from the IRS stating that they wanted to further review our four returns. I contacted Evan and he asked that I forward the four letters, as we had given him power of attorney. About 60 days later we received separate letters from the IRS, stating that after further review, no additional tax was due. I have referred several friends to Nielson Law Firm all with very diverse incomes. All have been extremely happy with Evan's company. I have one big regret about Evan, and that is that I did not meet him decades earlier. I had a business for many years and I had a CPA that I thought I was very happy with. There are over 50,000 pages of tax law and very few CPA or accountants are aware of, let alone can they keep up with evolving tax laws. read more
