I spent a lot of time browsing in this store. They have tons of nifty things - wall hangings, kitchen gadgets, lotions, jewelry, magnets, MI souvenirs. Lots of quirky and cute items. I ended up buying a little trinket dish for my niece. It was very reasonably priced. Definitely worth a stop. read more

The terrible management on top of the cheap, over priced, backyard made junk is sad honestly. I've been to the goodwill and Salvation Army that has had better quality items for sale. The older woman who claims to be the manager that obviously has no business training or etiquette really puts this place in the dump! Dump dump dumpy dump dump. Horrible manager here. Took our well behaved kids here and she screamed at my son for picking up a garden decoration (flamingo). Ended up going back to speak with her about how she talks to children in front of their parents and she tried defending her actions and said she could "hear them running from downstairs." They never ran and were next to us the entire time. WILL NEVER GO HERE AGAIN! read more

After having shopped in the store for souvenirs, I spent quite a sum of money. The people improperly packaged and broke one of my purchases, but they refused to exchange it. They have a mean staff people who are a little too happy about being a manager, and a little too reluctant to help out a customer who just gave them a huge sale. Just bad energy not a good place in my opinion at all, I suggest not wasting your time or your money even stopping there. There are really wonderful places surrounding that store. read more

They were good and busy here on Small business Saturday. My mom, friend, and I did our part. My mother picked up some christmas gifts here. The sales lady tried to explsin the jewelry with the pop-in, pop-out stones to us. Neat, but still confused. Lol. Ann at Nifty Things went above and beyond for me today! I was having trouble finding a local, Traverse City shop that would deliver a get well gift to a friend at Munson Medical Center. Several local florists I called refused to deliver to the hospital because of many refused delivery attempts resulting in lost revenue/customer refunds during COVID. Getting desperate, I reached out to local gift shops to see if anyone could help me out. Ann answered the phone, listened to my plight, and was willing to do a delivery - something they don't do and are not set up to do. A few hours later, my friend received the gift - which I'm sure she appreciated way more than flowers because this unique bracelet and mug will not rot like flowers do. So thank you, Ann and Nifty Things! Your customer service is fantastic and I cannot wait to visit you in person when I get to Traverse City! read more

Have been to this store numerous times over the years. I purchased an inexpensive beer opener for my partner but the keychain broke while trying to remove it from the very ridiculous package. I came back to the store the next day and told one of the employees. She blamed me for breaking the $2.99 item and never offered to replace it with another one. We had seen an unusual wood clock at the back of the store for over $100 but ended up not purchasing it because of her response. read more

Stores like this are right up my alley. They had a huge mixture of unique, quirky gifts. They had tons of kitchen gadgets (which I LOVE!), tons of those popular word art wall hangings (you know what I'm talking about...the ones that will list out stuff like awesome things in life, or "love is all you need"...they are cropping up everywhere!), cards, knick knacks, sparkly/bedazzled jewelry, customizable flip flops, electronic related gadgets....just tons of stuff! I wandered around for a good amount of time making sure to look at everything. They had "Yay!" magnets which I've never seen before...had to get the "Yay! Pickles!" magnet!! Very cool store. If I am ever in the area again, I will definitely stop back. read more

This is one of the most unique shops I've ever shopped in. They have EVERYTHING imaginable. We visited on a work trip to Traverse City. The entire crew in the store was so friendly and very helpful. After our visit, we returned home. Then I realized the two or three things I looked at that I REALLY wanted but didn't get, I WANTED still. This place is not professional. They hire people and then when one of their friends is available to work there they let the person go they hired to hire their friend. That is not how you run a business. I will be boycotting this place. If someone does not want a job you shouldn't go back on your word to the person you hire just because someone is your friend.
