Had a beer at Night Shift Brewing Owl's Nest on Friday evening. The space is cool, but the staff was not very friendly, and without offering tastes you need to hope to select your beer correctly immediately. Quality: They had nine beers on tap, all served as full pours. They do not offer samplers or tastes, they made that very clear to us. I ended up with The 87, a NE Double IPA, which was was less fruity and more bitter than I expected. As the sun was going down the temperature quickly dropped and we headed off before exploring the menu more. Quantity: Standard plastic cup pours. Value: $7-$8.50 for Draft Beers. Ambiance: Night Shift Brewing Owl's Nest is a beer garden set up next to the Charles River in Allston. They have a large green space adjacent to the waterway. A few trees provide shade on the picnic tables. They have you order at the front, where they also had a remarkably clean porta-potty. Crowd: A small crowd, mostly families, on a beautiful Fall day. Service: A bit curt and rude. They snapped at us multiple times, for not knowing the correct entrance, and asking for a taste of one of the beers. Parking: Huge free lot nearby.

Really cute outdoor bar right on the water. The wine is reasonably priced for the first time at an outdoor pop up which is a huge win for me. It's very dog and child friendly. They have some lawn games such as corn whole and connect 4. This is a great find for all ages.

That's the rosé I ordered in the front. $10 for that. Fuck you, Boston.

Pros: Beautiful location. Dogs are welcomed. Respectable beer and wine selection for being and outside deal Games to play, like Uno. Cons: Pricey for the wine Lines can be painfully long Dogs can leave, uh, smells Can be difficult to get to if you're not the walking type (I am, so it's no biggie) Can get really, really, packed, which kinda kills the peaceful scenery Overall it's a cool idea, but I personally would rather enjoy the Charles along the esplanade from a bench than hang out in there.

Fun brewery with a nice selection of drafts and some good bar food. Place was really busy but we were seated right away. Interior is nice, also good location to watch a game. We've ordered two different Hefeweizen that are only available at this location. Also ordered the chicken tenders and the sriracha flatbread. Both were simple but really good. The dips that came with it tasted great. Our waitress was super friendly and quick with everything we've needed.

This little pop up brewery is a great idea and location, right along the Charles River a HAWT spot for a lot of runners and bikers.

First, the beers and food sections are separate and owned by different businesses so even if you start a tab at the bar, you need to get the card back to pay for food. Seems like an inefficient system especially during peak hours but what do I know. They could look into posting a sign that makes this clear. Maybe it was a busy time, maybe they were under-staffed, but when I went to close out my tab (at the correct spot!), the bartender tossed the credit card and receipt at me and walked away. I don't want to say the tired line of how, if I was a guy, he wouldn't have treated me this way, but it was the rudest encounter I've had to date at any bar in Boston. Food: Options were pretty limited and took awhile to be ready but my cheese slice was delicious. They also had a lychee panna cotta that looked good. Parking: Most of the surrounding parking spots are permit-only so if you're coming not on a Sunday, be sure to double check. There are some meter spots further down Broadway.

It's still Tree House's beer but it's kind of bastardized. Imagine putting a Michelin star restaurant in a food court next to a Chic Fil A. It loses some of its luster. I went up to the makeshift portable bar and they had I am guessing 8-10 beers on tap. No flights. So, I ordered the girlfriend and I each a beer which were poured into plastic to-go cups. She got a Julius and I got an Ultimate Haze, both excellent. The atmosphere is just open mall area and then an outdoor atrium, both kind of blah. There was a kiosk to buy gear and a cooler around the corner to buy canned beer to go. Next time I will rent a car and go to one of the real brewery locations but for now I will be thankful that I could basically get a Julius hazy IPA next to an Orange Julius. Ha!

The whole process couldn't have been easier, especially after having done similar curbside pickups at several of their other locations. From the time I parked and checked in until I had my beer was about 3 minutes, although it was only me and 1 other car. I was about 20 mins early and they were able to accommodate me without an issue. They also have a retail spot on the arcade level near shake shack inside where you can pick up or even get merch. I didn't have time to get to the beer garden, so I cannot comment on that. Overall, I wouldn't hesitate to pick up at eh Prud again if I'm in the area. Hardest part was dealing with Boston. Copied some pics off of Tree House's website.
