We luckily caught it right before it closed for the season, and it was the perfect spot to enjoy a beautiful day in the city. The staff were very friendly and even gave us a few tasters of beer so we could find the perfect one -- such a nice touch! The beer was excellent, the vibes were great, and the setting couldn't be better -- right in the heart of Boston with beautiful views of the Boston Harbor Hotel and its large American flag. Such a fun, laid-back atmosphere. We're so glad we got to experience it before the season ended, and we'll definitely be back next time we're in Boston!

Regulars even have their own beer steins. They don't do flights per se, but if you want to try multiple of their beers, as we did, they do "schnitte", which are smaller (9 oz) servings. The highpoint for me was their hefe weisse and another beer they call a hootenany, which is a true Berliner weisse sour wheat beer. This is the closest to a Berliner weisse that I've ever had in a US brewery. I had the variation that had woodruf (Waldmeister) as the souring additive. The only time I've ever found this outside of Berlin! It was a wonderful surprise and a really great beer. This is a great craft brewery that I would highly recommend (and I live in Asheville, NC, so I know craft breweries pretty darn well!).

It's still Tree House's beer but it's kind of bastardized. Imagine putting a Michelin star restaurant in a food court next to a Chic Fil A. It loses some of its luster. I went up to the makeshift portable bar and they had I am guessing 8-10 beers on tap. No flights. So, I ordered the girlfriend and I each a beer which were poured into plastic to-go cups. She got a Julius and I got an Ultimate Haze, both excellent. The atmosphere is just open mall area and then an outdoor atrium, both kind of blah. There was a kiosk to buy gear and a cooler around the corner to buy canned beer to go. Next time I will rent a car and go to one of the real brewery locations but for now I will be thankful that I could basically get a Julius hazy IPA next to an Orange Julius. Ha!
