So this is a tiny tiny Nike store in terms of merchandise and size, but they organise running…read moregroups four times a week for all sorts of runners. Mondays: Women's 5K or 7K. Wednesdays: Mixed 5K, 7K, 10K. Friday mornings: Mixed, 7K. Sunday mornings: LONG ASS RUNS. This is also in addition to the Nike Training Club classes! Pretty impressive for a small store, I'll say. I go primarily to the Monday sessions and do the 7K, which is a normal, short-ish running distance for me. But you'll get an entirely different workout with the pacers, who make you do all sorts of intervals and sometimes all-body training. It's a great workout while also being a lot of fun. The huge thing is that the pacers aren't your annoying, cliche perky cheerleaders; they're actually down-to-earth, relaxed, and amazing at what they do. They'll take care of the whole group and let you work at your pace. If you're faster, they add in extra workouts to challenge you; if you're slower, they will stay with you and figure out how to guide the group so that you'll be able to catch up. Everyone's really friendly, too. Not the type of competitive atmosphere you'd expect! So if you're ever thinking of trying to run shorter or longer distances more regularly with the support of a friendly group, definitely pop by one of the days they run together. If you can't make those specific days, they also encourage you to check out the store on Oxford Street that runs Tuesdays and Thursdays (ladies), though having been to the other one once I'd say that this one is more organised and more like a collective. And did I mention that after 10 runs, you get a free T-shirt? I know what this sounds like, but I PROMISE I'm not being sponsored by them. I'm just SO STOKED by what they offer and just can't believe that more people don't take advantage of this!! Oh, and I guess their stuff is pretty nice and slick, too. ;)

I bought a pair of sneakers here and unbeknownst to me at that time, they were half size too small. I wore them the next day and walked over 9 miles around London. By the end of the day my toes were so much in pain that I went straight back to the same store to buy another pair just in a bigger size. This is where THOMAS, THE BEST CUSTOMER SERVICE PROVIDER EVER, comes to into the picture. He professionally explained the sizing for me and guided me to the correct size. I thanked him and asked if there's a way to make an exchange instead of buying another £129 pair to replace the ones I didn't need and he told me that it's not the norm, but considering the situation he will make the exchange. I didn't have the box or receipt with me so I offered to go to my hotel to pick them up. Thomas said that he doesn't need the box because the shoes cannot be sold again and asked if I had a mobile bank statement to proof my purchase. Thanks to Amex app, I pulled up the receipt and walked away with perfect pair and happy face. The moral of the story is that a combination of a great company like Nike, that allows their employees to make decisions based on each situation and doesn't strangle them with strict guidelines; and a fantastic employee like Thomas, who has the capacity to see the big picture and creativity to find a solution, is a winning combination. I will keep buying Nike product and when in London only shop in their Neal Street store. And I truly wish there were more retailers and employees like Nike & Thomas! Thank you both!

And yet... there was a laptop table that was $^&#@ perfect. I must have it! I walked from Neasden (Jubilee Line) station. Yes, the Ikea web page mentions the free shuttle bus from Stonebridge Park, but there were planned engineering works (surprise!). I looked at Google Earth and saw that Neasden was close enough. It's a pleasant and well marked ten minute walk from Neasden, but there are a couple of alleys that could be a little unsafe after the sun sets, if you know what I mean. Entering the store, I stopped for a late breakfast to earn back the calories from the walk. They have a fantastic special - 6 items for £1.55 make up an English breakfast. That gave me a few minutes to catch my breath and plan my attack. There's a difference between "cheap" and "inexpensive." IKEA isn't heirloom quality furniture, but it will last pretty well under normal conditions and certainly is useful for kitting out a flat or a college dorm room. The kitchenware, including the cutlery and flatware and dishes are all decent and arty. The desks and the beds and the chairs and the sofas are all excellent. Not cheap. Inexpensive. I'm a fan. In the end, I skipped the laptop table. Maybe I can convince a vehicle'd friend to pick it up for me. Or have it delivered - the £15 table is only £22.50 with shipping. (600)

The company produce and sell all types of good quality stylish and practical furniture and household products with great Swedish style and at reasonable prices. A truly great international store chain. Be prepared for a long shopping trip here as the store is ginormous with a vast array of products. There is also a very reasonably priced restaurant / cafe if you need a break and to eat while shop. Lots of parking available too. A really unique shopping experience here. Don't be overwhelmed.

They play bad 80's pop ( a definite plus) and sell a line of Scope Jewellery that is hideously tacky called Equality Range. The good news is the clothes are not expensive and you can find the odd piece that works like a leather skirt in size 8 for 8 pounds. It's enough to allow yourself the feeling of poverty for a minute. I have a paid double for these moments, as the paps have been harassing me.

It was the usual charity shop. Things organized by size, alright for basics, no great vintage finds, no super exciting ballgowns or dancing teapots (which I've seen before, I swear. What caught my eye on passing by one evening was a fantastic Colclough's 'Cottage & Stream' china tea-cup and saucer; I'm a huge fan of this particular Colclough vintage china range as I have many happy memories of having afternoon tea with my beloved Granna when I was a little girl! I was warmly greeted by Holly and Steven, the owners of Nicholas & Steele and offered a cup of tea what a lovely way to shop and do business! Of course, the tea was made in a gorgeous 1930's Crinoline Lady teapot (periwinkle blue?) and served up in vintage bone china tea-cups and saucers. Love it, love it, love it this is customer service at it's best, methinks! Holly and Steven are rightly proud of their business which, as I found out, had only opened on Saturday the day when I had spied their vintage treasures. The amount of love and attention they have poured into every single detail of their business is evident for all to see; they are undeniably very talented and offer a scrumptious range of products. The charming dressers are all hand-painted by them and I've already picked the one I wish to see in my home! At the back of the shop I spied an incredible chest of drawers painted in a striking union-jack flag effect, simply stunning. The union jack flag was similarly echoed on the front of the shop's counter, in pastel shades to complement the vintage treasures for sale. Nicholas & Steele not only sell vintage tea-sets and other assorted vintage afternoon tea treasures (cupcake stands etc.), but they also have an amazing array of vintage kitchenware (including cutesy jelly moulds) and stunning antique embroidered and/or lace tablecloths and table mats; Holly is very creative and also hand-makes bunting from vintage table linen that are no longer usable and other antique materials she has picked up along the way. There is also an assortment of trinkets and jewellery so a perfect place to shop for unusual gifts too. I do like the idea of a one-stop shop ! Holly is also an artist and has plans for offering creative workshops over the coming months, so do pop by and say hello to them in Durham Road, SW20.
