I've been going to Nikki for lashes for a month or so now. I was recommended her by mother-in-law, who's been going to her for like 10 years! The old salon I was going to was getting pretty much impossible to get into because of how popular they were becoming. Good for them, but sad for a regular... So on to Nikki I moved! One thing that I REALLY like about Nikki is she gets lashes done QUICK. My old spot was taking an hour plus, and Nikki gets my volume fill done in 30-45 minutes. Her prices are also a tiny bit cheaper than where I was going as well, which is an added bonus. Nikki does a great job with my lashes. They always look nice and full when she's done, and the glue seems to hold REALLY well. I go every two weeks and at that point I'm in need of a fill, but it's not tooo noticeable yet. I could honestly probably go three. The retention is great. Final note - I live in the Federal Way area and I make the trek to West Seattle for my appointments. Definitely give her a chance if you're on the hunt for a new lash artist! read more

I went in for a 45 minute Spa Blow Out, which the description states it includes a blow dry with no hot tools. The service comes with a scalp massage and shampoo and blow dry. The scalp massage was scratching my head for 30 minutes. The blow dry lasted 6 minutes-my hair was completely wet when I left. I didn't say anything at the time as I was in disbelief of the service I received. I also felt the person doing my hair was not a hair stylist (nor is she listed as such on the website), so I didn't think she could have styled my hair even if she did blow it all the way dry. Apparently, the owner says that is what I paid for. Not a full blow dry, just a partial hair dry. Hmmmm...the booking site and website both say "blow dry". Not sure how I am misunderstanding. I would love to promote a small business, but the lack of service here on all accounts is terrible. read more

This is a tough review for me to write because I love and support women of color businesses. However, I am doing this for two reasons: 1) for the safety of future customers/clients 2) for feedback and improvement of services I volunteered to be a model for one of Nikki's students. I paid $50 for a classic, wing set. I cannot speak for Nikki's work. These were my first set I've ever done, and I regret doing them. My experience with the student's work is really 2 STARS. It took 2 long hours. I voiced my concerns and asked questions, but I was shrugged off and told it was normal itching/burning if it was your first time. The result were beautiful extensions that came with a lot of pain and possibly an infection. It has been three days now and my eyes are red and has yellow discharge. I did tell Nikki, and she told me to come in to get them fixed which is why I give 3 STARS. I declined the offer because what my eyes really need is a break from being touched and glue. Here are my recommendations/critiques: * DON'T make your customers sign a waiver UNTIL you have thoroughly explained the process of lash extensions, how to care for them, and the risks. I read the waiver in it's entirety, had doubts, voiced them, just to have another lash tech to tell me to just sign it for service and that I would be told everything AFTER. Even after my lashes were done, I was just given a brush and was told to not wet them for 48 hours -- that's it. Don't rush things with your customers/clients if you really care for them. Especially if they are new, you should prepare them and reassure them of the process. * If you are teaching students, you should literally be by their side making sure they are doing things right from the BEGINNING (at the very least) to the end. I was told by Nikki that this student was experienced, but she just had to get the technique done faster. In reality, the student didn't understand the technique and was doing her own thing for the first 30 minutes! She only checked occasionally. If she was there watching her student, the infection could have been avoided. And even after telling the student that she had done it wrong, the student didn't start over. The damage was done and she kept rolling with it. * Please give your students quality materials to use, even on models. And teach them how to give excellent, caring services. I am not sure if I heard this correctly while laying down, but I heard the other lash tech say the glue was nail glue??? I could be wrong. I heard Nikki ask her customers if she preferred sensitive or regular glue, and I wish the student had done the same! * The table with a blanket over it was very uncomfortable, especially since it took the student 2 hours (I was told it would be 1.5). If you have the means, please upgrade them into chairs so that your clients can enjoy laying down. read more

Call me vain, but I'm one of those girls that care a lot about my presentation and grooming because it's a reflection on how well you take care of yourself. Am I right? I wear false lashes every single day before I got lash extensions so I'm very anal about how dramatic my lashes need to be and most places that I went to would never fulfill my request. I love how consistently full falsies are, but the only thing is that I have to wear eyeliner or some sort of eye makeup if I'm going to wear them or else the strip line would show. With lash extensions, I can just wake up, draw in my brows, and put in my color contacts and call it good. I have Trina do my lashes and they are perfect every time so book with her. There's a couple parking spots right in front of the shop, but it's tight so I just park on the streets which is still super easy and close. They have online booking that send out appointment reminders. I come in every 2 weeks to get them fill and it takes about an hour each time. It's a good way to take a nap each time while getting an errand done. I believe in the power of having mesmerizing eyes that can stare into someone's soul and hypnotize people and having full lashes that just flicker with every blink definitely helps. Hahaha. I'm going to update my review to 1 star based on the owners response to my prior 3 star review. (Which according to Yelp's rating system, is a good/ok rating - it literally says A-Ok..). While it is true that a business has the right to refuse service to anybody, I find this reaction to my honest review upsetting and ultimately very petty as nothing below is even that negative. Just well, honest. I wrote about my experience. If they would like to cancel my appointment and lose my business I will go elsewhere. They could have reached out and to me privately in response to talk about it, but instead sent me a cancellation text saying: "Sorry, base on your review on Yelp. Our shop is not a good fit for you. I wish that you can find a better place for your future lash extension..." So, I'll take my business elsewhere. As of November 2019, they raised their prices anyways, so a 3 week fill is $70. I've been coming here for awhile now and I like it's proximity to where I live, as it's only a handful of blocks. Can't beat the convenience. It is the first place I've been to though that doesn't have private rooms. It's one big room with kind of curtained off areas which is strange to me. The place I used to go had calming music and a pillow for under your legs but these beds are just covered in plastic. There is usually a different genre of music playing and the techs talk to each other. The problem of the "open concept" is that other patrons aren't super respectful that this time might be relaxing for others. People get on their phones loudly after finishing up, heavy sleepers snore. It's a mess. I try to drown it out with my headphones but it's still a much louder atmosphere than I'm used to. I haven't had Niki do my lashes but she answered her phone a lot while doing clients and she has a voice that carries. I've also had a tech I've seen twice and she was late both times, once because she was getting her lashes done and that ran long. I see Michelle and I really like her. She's always on time, she's efficient and my lashes always look great. For fills you have a choice of two weeks for $50 or three weeks for $60 and since I take good care of mine I opt for three weeks. It's unfortunately pricey even if you take good care of your lashes and don't have to fill in much each visit. read more

Don't have Nikki do your brows, especially if you are blonde. I don't usually do reviews positive or negative on yelp, but I'm feeling that this is something I need to do. I had my brows done 5 months ago and they have not improved. There was a problem from the beginning, but I thought I would see if they would 'work out'. They did not. The color, shape, the extra ink that makes the left side dip lower than the right...the whole thing is a mess. I've contacted Nikki to try and resolve this, and since it can't be resolved or fixed, I asked for a refund. I now have to get them laser removed. She gave me 1/2 of my money back. I am also a small business owner and my customer has always been more important than the money. Money is more important to Nikki and I'm sad and frustrated at how this has turned out. read more

I can't say enough good things about this place. I've been coming here for at least 7 years in all her locations. I've had my lashes done by several people and it has been a consistent amazing result. I know this because I am constantly being asked who does my lashes. Literally, I can be in a group of five friends who all have lash extensions and I get the question - that's how I know they're good. Ok, plus the mirror... Anyway, she has super competitive pricing and a comfortable salon. And whoever wrote the review abou them "not having blankets?!??" If you pay twice as much somewhere and I'm sure they will wrap you in mink but if you want one at Nikki's, heads up...all you have to do is ask. They're in the back. Been coming here for many years to see Nikki (3 locations so far and I've followed her to every one of them). She's done my eyelash extensions and also did my microblading for my eyebrows (and my mom's too). I definitely trust her with my eyelashes. She does a great job, I've never had any issues. There are times where I have to park on the street if there is none in front of her shop, but it's super easy and still close by and free parking of course. I went and got my first pair of extensions with Nikki before going on vacation. She was very gentle and professional, especially because she knows how to handle Asian lashes; where in my case, they are very strait and thin. I got volume natural and I loved the results. Within an hour of my appointment, lashes on my left eye started falling off. Now, 4 days later, the lashes on my left eye look noticeably different than those on my right. I paid $180 for these lashes, and was told they would last at least two weeks. Needless to say, I am very disappointed. I have tried contacting the salon by e-mail, phone, and Facebook but have gotten no response. In light of the other good reviews, I am unclear why they are not interested in helping me. read more

No longer going to Nikki lashes due to my natural eyelashes coming out leaving me damn near bald, the false eyelashes clumping together every time, and just my overall experiences. I'm not happy with the quality. Every time I've gone one eye (either left or right) has more eyelashes than the other due to her working on one eye at time and for whatever reasons, my eyelashes always clump together. I had so much glue with my last fill the new lash tech I now go to spent over an hour removing my eyelashes plus the glue that was left on my natural eyelashes as well. Nikki will talk over your head and answer text and phone calls in the middle of the session. She will stop to go talk to her other workers. It's just an unprofessional, non relaxing environment and I feel her prices does not reflect her work. read more

I've gotten my eyelashes done at four different salons. Unfortunately, Nikki's Lashes are the reason why I stopped getting lashes all together. I'm not sure what kind of tape they use to hold down your lower lashes, or what glue they use on your eyelashes, but my eyes had a big "NOPE!!!" reaction to something at this salon. I went back 3 times for fills, trying to give them another chance in case my body was just reacting badly. *every time* my eyes would burn a bit during application, and while I'd come out of the salon with gorgeous volume lashes, I developed a horribly swollen eyelid (and I have monolids/am Asian, so this looked horrible) that would get dry and shiny and flaky. Yuck! Look up blepharitis because that's what my eye doctor told me I had developed as a result of my extensions. In addition, I would wake up the next morning with a popped blood vessel in my left eye that looked horrible (it was so bad my manager asked me if I needed to go home sick!) and it would stick around for a good week. When I called them about this, the owners just told me that they could try and use sensitive eye glue next time -- no apologies or sympathy for what had happened. This whole experience really put me off to eyelash extensions which is a shame because I had gotten them for half a year at other salons with no problems. My eyelids stayed flaky and slightly swollen for two months after I stopped getting my eyelashes filled. I would stay far away from Nikki's lashes if you have any concerns for sensitivities or infections! read more

Great and affordable extensions! I see Taylor and I have had numerous compliments on how good my lashes look. Note that the difference between the natural and glamour is that the natural lashes aren't put on every single lash. They still look super full and long though so I don't mind. I haven't tried the premium lashes but the less expensive ones suit me just fine. I usually book my two week appointment just to get the discount ($40) but my lashes have lasted 3.5 weeks before. This place is absolutely amazing. This is the first time I've gotten eyelash extensions and Kevin made sure I knew what I wanted and he ensured I loved my lashes at the end. It was quick to book my appointment and also he was quick to make sure I had a lash fill appointment made so I didn't have to worry about looking for openings and staying up to date. I had volume lash extensions applied on December 27, 2018 the day before I left for a trip to Paris. Last year I had lash extensions for about 4 months before I developed an allergic reaction, so the technician used the sensitive glue and I was advised to take allergy medicine for a few days. My lashes looked lovely! Upon landing I realized that I was having an allergic reaction on both eyes, I loaded up on allergy medicine and applied ice cubes to my lids to reduce swelling. On Monday the 31st I was able to get an appointment in Paris to have my lash extensions removed. The first quest the salon asked me is where I had gotten my lashes done at a reputable salon, the lashes were applied incorrectly - the glue was applied directly to my skin as opposed to the recommended 1-2 mm away from the skin on the lash. Further, on my left eye there was a clump of glue and 6 lashes as removing this clump did cause damage to my eyelid the woman that removed my lashes showed me the clump of glue and lashes before and after removal. read more

Nikki is great! she's very gentle, speedy and does quality work for a GREAT price. You won't find anywhere else in town with $40 fills. Nikki even has an awesome automated system that reminds you of your appointment, and she always replies in a prompt manner and accommodates to you changing your appointment time (which I am very guilty of). She's also fun to chat with about life while you get your lashes done, which is always a plus. But my favorite thing about Nikki....let me tell ya.. is that she takes Venmo as a form of payment! Cause when you're someone like me and NEVER carry cash, it saves you a trip to the bank. :) read more

The first time I called for an appointment, Nikki told me it's better to book online. I didn't want to have to create another login with another company (Vagaro), but I did. I showed up for my appointment at the time I booked for and was told they didn't have an appoint for me. They were able to get me in about 2 hours later, but it did interrupt my schedule for the day. I understand mistakes happen, so I rebooked before leaving and made it for 1st appt. of the day (9am) 3 weeks out. I showed up at that appointment at 8:55am to locked doors! No one showed up until 9:25am. The I was told it was MY FAULT because I didn't "confirm" my appt. What???? She said they have too many people that don't show up, so if they can't confirm my appt, they don't come in. So they chose to leave me sitting in a parking lot based on what other clients do.....? Again, I needed my fill so they fit me in, but they rushed the appt. and were rude. I figured the 3rd time's the charm, right? So I booked my fill for 3 weeks again. I got a call the morning of the appt saying Amanda was out sick and I need to reschedule or they could get me in an hour later with someone else. I needed my fill so I chose to go in. When I booked the appointment through Vagaro, Nikki was running a special for 3 week "premium" fills at $48. When I went to pay, they said $60, so I told her about the online special. She seemed confused, then she looked it up and asked Nikki. It was still showing up so Nikki decided it was for 1st time customers only. I understand marketing and if it is for 1st time customers only, it says "first time customers only!" No where, on any page, not in any small print, did it say "first time customers only." It was nothing more than bait and switch! Before I wrote this review, I read through some of the other ones. One thing that MUST be corrected is that there is no such thing as "sensitive" glue! If Nikki is saying she offered sensitive glue, then she is either lying or doesn't know better. The main ingredient in medical grade adhesive is Cyanoacrylate. This is what some people have a reaction to and every adhesive has it. She should have done a patch test, but she can't make any money off of it. Probably why it isn't offered. I gave them 3 chances to be an honest and reputable business that cares about giving good customer service and they failed every time. Bottom line: there are too many other certified lash artists in the area for me to ever go back to Nikki's again. Three strikes and they're out! I know my reviews are almost all negative, but these are the things I feel I strongly about. I have lots of great experiences, but I want to warn people about my bad experiences so they don't waste their money. read more

I was charged $200 for a set of lashes and I noticed now that they are doing a new thing in which they try to get people hooked by booking an appointment for a fill before they leave. They say "it's cheaper if you get if filled more often" but what if you take good care of them and can go 3 weeks without a fill? Doesn't matter. I got my lashes done for my wedding, and now I am hopelessly hooked. They last so long, and aren't heavy on my eyes at all! Make sure you get an intro to how to clean and maintain them if it's your first time, which they were happy to do for me. It's painless, only takes about an hour (I got the volume package) to fill and look amazing. I get compliments every day. Low quality, unsanitary and rushed. They are always running behind so you wait when you arrive. Also, these lash artists do one eye at a time (atypical for quality lash applications) and they always start with the right eye. As a result of them running late the left eye is always less filled. They don't wash their hands between customers and will stop working on you to handle cash exchange with another customer then go straight back to work on you. I've worked with quality lash artists and tried this place due to convenience of location but I have to say, not all lash artists are the same unfortunately. read more

The person I worked with got product in my eye, it was burning pretty intensely after 5 mins. I voiced that my eye was burning and she got a cotton swab maybe, couldnt see as my eyes were shut, then she rubbed the lashes in a really odd manner: rather than swiping away from the eye, she was pushing up TOWARD my eye...therefore pressing more of the dye into my eye? Then she splashed water into my eye which did nothing but make me have water all over and in my ear. I ended up having her just take everything off and I went into the bathroom to wash my eye out. Then I walked in and she asked if it looked alright, even though half of the lashes were not colored AT ALL. I said, " no I don't see any color on half of the lashes". all along she didn't say SORRY in any way shape or form, and actually seemed upset with ME? I let her try again and she left the dye on for 4 minutes...then she wiped it all off...I don't understand how someone stays in business when employees behave that way...I don't recommend going there...no, just stay away. read more

I made my first appointment here last week and specifically said I wanted brown lashes. The woman on the phone said ok, but just so I knew that most customers returned saying they wanted to switch to black. I said that was good to know but I need brown. She said that they would go over the options with me at my appointment. Fast forward to today when I was able to get 2.5 hours of childcare for this. I get there and the floor and blankets on the table are all visibly dirty. Taylor, the woman helping me said they didn't have brown lashes because no one asks for them. She made a phone call and confirmed that they didn't have brown but said that all of their customers like the black. She also said that she overheard the conversation of when I made the appointment over the phone and that she knows I was told they did not have brown. She said I could order what I wanted off Amazon and bring it in. o_O This was not a good experience at all. I will be making my next appt and spending hundreds of dollars elsewhere. read more

Ok. From working 8pm to 5am, it was hard traveling from Renton past Puyallup for lashes, when I searched and found this spot. I thought it was perfect, being I'm a west Seattle native, perfect. How WRONG I was. After being tardy a few times, bought the true character of Nikki the PIMP out. Pimp you ask? Well, yes! One phone to schedule with multiple people, phone belonging to Nikki. She does the best job, Nikki does, but picks and chooses her clients as well as the prices that changes when her mind does. And lastly, I've NEVER seen melanin in her shop, which probably explains why she's been treating me...argumentive, aggressive and mean to me, ultimately canceling my appointment because I complained about the additional THIRTY DOLLARS she tried to add to my appointment for a fill/new set. Buyer beware! If you DOJT HAVE THE COMPLEXION FOR THE CONNECTION, you MIGHT wanna find a melanin friendly place with consistent prices, and each stylist schedule their OWN APPOINTMENTS. read more

This place has nice enough atmosphere and I'm sure they do great lash extensions. I would NEVER recommend you go here for a brow wax. Both mine and my friends eyebrows are completely ruined. We both asked for just a cleanup, but we were not expected to have brand new, and completely awful uneven brows. Very unhappy and will NEVER be coming here again. read more

I had an awful experience. My lashes developed a reaction when i woke up the next morning, most likely related to the toxic fumes from the glue. My eyes were BLOODSHOT red and burning. I called Nikki to let her know and she recommended that I use eyedrops. Not only did I try eyedrops, I tried everything. I am a registered nurse and asked friends in the medical field for advice as well. Nothing worked. The NEXT morning, my eyes were even more red and crusty. I had to call out sick to work because I could not see, and didn't want to be seen. I was told to come at 9:45 to get them removed, was there at 9:30 eager and waiting, and ended up waiting till 10:20 to actually be seen by Taylor. My eyes were soaked with "remover" and I was left for 15 minutes with my eyes burning. After I left, I texted Nikki to see if a refund was possible, as my time & money had been wasted, but she never responded (although she had responded to every text prior). All in all, I would never recommend this shop to anyone I know. read more
