Nikki's is my go-to for nicer liquor (mezcals & tequilas) & novelty drinks like canned cocktails. I was looking for canned espresso martini & was directed to this whole rack (see attached photo) of mini canned cocktails. Mai tai, old fashioned, margarita, cosmopolitan, White Russian, mojito... all for $3.99 a can. I'm obsessssssed. I got 2 of the espresso martinis & 2 of the mojitos. Gorgeous store, that regularly leaves an unattractive pile of what looks like garbage just to the left of the door. Nikki's is one of the few stores in town to (supposedly) stock Coole Swan Irish Cream, although they've been out of it for months. The selection of beers is impressive (few other places sell Grolsch), with local and lesser-known national brands as well as the more typical/popular beers and ales. The staff has been helpful in finding superb wines at various price points. read more

I hate Branch Ave and do everything possible to avoid it, but I will power through it in order to visit Nikki's. I have been coming to Nikki's for years. What I love about this family-owned liquor store is that it's so well -curated. It's not a gigantic space with loads and loads of stuff, but what they have is interesting and usually high-quality. They do a great job selecting from small craft breweries locally and across the country. I'm a big sours girl, and they have a great selection here. Evil Twin, Castle Hill, Dogfish Head...they have that and more! They also have a good selection of international beers, ciders, and hard seltzers. At Nikki's Liquor, everyday is a craft beer celebration. With plenty of craft beers from all over New England, as well as some from other locations outside of the east coast. I love doing their pick-6's, so that I can try a variety of beers without having to go to each brewery. It's convenient and reasonably priced. Here are things that I believe contribute to the 5 star experience. 1. Parking lot next to the building 2. EASY to get to from RT 146 or 95 3. GREAT Owners and Staff - They won't hover, but they will ask if you can find what you are looking for and if not, they will give you an estimate of when it might arrive - delivery days around Tuesday, if I remember correctly. 4. Great Space, plenty of room for stock and people for browsing - coolers and shelf stock 5. Excellent selection of craft beer! One of the best I have personally experienced in the area. 6. Great spot to pick up a strong variety of local craft beer. So far this has been the best place I have found to stock some of the smaller craft brewers in New England. They also do a great job selling singles. It can be tough to commit to a 4-pack from a brewer you know nothing about. The variety of singles make this a non issue. I have found some great breweries utilizing their singles. They also have a good variety of local spirits. Again, a great way to find local options in addition to the more popular brands. read more

I only have wonderful things to say about Nikki's. First of all like most, they are family owned. So much so that you can find Momma working with a baby on her hip. I was floored to find a hard working mom just making it work, sacrificing her time on Christmas Eve to run her business. This, this, is how America became great. Hard working family folk. As for the selection, there is nothing you cannot find here. NIKKIS'S was my last stop of 3 to find a craft beer I'd been longing to try. They had the last case around and it was reasonable to the others posted price. Everything is clearly marked and easy to find. I love the Mix a 6, as there is hundreds to chose from. Nikki's used to be located closer to my house but I make the drive to the new location without complaint. They have a great selection and are very helpful and knowledgeable. Now that it's getting warmer out, it's awesome I can bring my dog in with me. Before I would have to drive home first so as not to leave him in a sweltering car. PS you can drive in and out using the back road. Sometimes the intersection out front can be a bit a traffic nightmare. Now that I've discovered this, getting in and out is a breeze! read more

Stopped here by chance thinking that it was a bar. Little did I know that they have an awesome collection of craft beers. The staff is definitely knowledgeable and friendly. They have beers from all over the country as well as internationally. The international ones are more expensive. They have wines, ciders and hard liquors as well. 10% discount when you get any six beers. They have a good selection of IPAs' but wish they had more, or I probably just didn't know where to look. Overall good place if you love craft beers. If you're looking for a particular beer in RI, your best bet to find it would be here. read more

There isn's a whole lot I can say about Nikki's that hasn't already been said. The beer selection is awesome -- everything from rare German beers from the oldest brewery in the world to fancy newfangled brews with crazy names and crazier labels, and the most impressive Allagash selection I've seen outsife on Maine. With over half the shop dedicated to beer alone, this is clearly the beer drinker's store. As for the wines and spirits, while they have a decent selection it's not my favorite. The prices are also a little higher than what you'll find nearby (Nikki's charges $6.99 for a bottle of Casal Garcia Vinho Verde whereas other places in the area sell it for $3.99), but the cleanliness and ambience of the place beats out a lot of the others, too. I did not find the staff to be particularly helpful -- when I was browsing through the wine section, there was a gentleman stocking wine the entire time and he never once acknowledges my presence, which I found odd. The location is good (although tough to get out of -- damn Branch Ave!) and I can see this being a huge hit for PVD beer drinkers. read more

If you're into trying new beers, Nikki's is the place to go. Their selection of singles is the best in the neighborhood, and you get 10% off if you pick 6. They have a large domestic and import selection, and I am personally stoked that there are lots of sours to choose from. :) The staff is always friendly and happy to help with suggestions if you ask. You could say Nikki's has it all. Their selection is great, the staff is both knowledgeable and happy to help, the shop is very pleasant and well organized, and the prices are competitive. While it's impossible to have a comprehensive selection of everything I do think they have the widest range of mezcal I have ever seen in the US and more types of beer than I knew existed prior to going there. I have spent a lot of time browsing in this shop since my spouse is a huge beer nerd (this is said with love) and I look around while he picks things out from the extensive selection of single bottles of beer. There's a 10% discount if you buy over a certain number of single bottles (6?). You will find a very wide range of locally made beers, Trappist beers (beer brewed by Trappist monks), and a lot, lot more. I feel like this is a place you could learn a lot about beer if you interested in it, including at the tastings they seem to hold with some regularity. They have some home brewing supplies, too! I bought a giant glass bottle (carboy) there as a holiday gift, which saved me around $25 for shipping that would have applied if I had bought it online. This isn't a home brewing emporium but a great spot if you need some basic supplies, including sanitizer and some types of yeast. There's a nice wine selection, including a fair number of sakes, and more kinds of cider than I have seen anywhere else. They have coolers for packs of beer, some single beers & ciders as well as dozens of wines. The liquors I've been interested in enough to look at are competitively priced. The whiskey and scotch selection seem very good. Over the past few years going here the staff has always been super pleasant and professional. Nearly every time I've visited someone has encouraged me to let them know if I have any questions, which I appreciate. I never thought I would be a 'regular' at a liquor store but am happy to come here a couple times a month to pick up a few beers, ciders or a nice bottle of something. Cheers! read more

A beer lover's dream! The selection is overwhelming...but like a good overwhelming. I try to get something different every visit when I make a mix-a-six. They initially did not have Woodchuck Granny Smith in stock in their new location (a staple in our household) so they made sure to order it and keep it in stock. Talk about customer service! I have been a fan of Nikki's since they were in the old location near my house. They have since moved to the end of branch avenue. On our way to beerfest my friends had never been so we stopped in. I had five beers on my mind that I wanted and were not readily available. I walked in and boom they were all there. One stop shopping. They also have a craft beer vault where you can find rare beers. It's definetly a craft beer lovers dream. The staff is super friendly and knowledgable and if they don't have what your looking for they will try and get it for you. Prices are very reasonable. I picked up two six packs , three bombers , and a single bottle for about 50$ which is decent in the craft beer world. We aren't buying bud lights here. If you are a beer lover this place is a must visit for your beer needs. read more

Great surprise in coming here they had a beer tasting for Six Point beers. The vendor was so informative and really easy to talk to. The place itself has an amazing selection of craft beers and the ability to buy them individually so you can try so many different kinds. The employee that was working the floor was so very nice. He came up to us asking if we had any questions, then showed us to the area where they have a limited selection of beers that they no longer have in the store. Nikki's is my go-to place when I'm looking for unique, hard-to-find beers. I've been going to the old location since I was of legal drinking age. They absolutely know their beer and are always willing to help. They always carry the single release and limited release beers as well. I'm a big fan of their cellar room, which contains easy gifts for any beer lover (or yourself!). To me, Nikki's falls a bit short in the spirits category, where they have an inventory that you'd expect from an average liquor store. Wine is similar to the liquor situation; a lot of good picks, but nothing as extravagant as the beer. Bonus points for the ample parking, despite it being awkwardly pitched. It can sometimes be difficult getting a whole lot of beer into your car when the car door keeps closing due to the extreme angle of the parking lot. Also bonus points for the dogs sometimes found behind the counter- they're pretty cute. read more

Love Nikki's! The best place to get those "hard to find" craft beers in Providence. What I really love is that when they do have a great beer, they don't hide them in the back and make you join a ridiculous list to get them. They will display a few on the counter and its first come/first serve, Which I find unfortunately rare. The pricing is very reasonable as well (in a world where many liquor stores price gouge popular brews like crazy). There is also a section of brews from outside the states as well which is really awesome. The selection is always changing and the staff is very helpful. While I am still not totally wowed by the customer service here, I am definitely more impressed by the selection, enough so to add a whole star. I recently discovered perhaps my new favorite cider (other than Citizen Cider, which is sadly not distributed to Rhode Island) in Demunck's Hard Cider. Since their opening, they have definitely rounded out their selection of basically everything. I now consider this my favorite place to buy cider, and I know it's my boyfriend's favorite place to get craft beer. However, like others have said, their wine selection leaves something to be desired. If only the staff was a little more friendly and helpful, I would be even more impressed! read more

Being a big supporter of their original location, I have been really impressed with this new store/location. The new layout is much more spacious and modern looking. They have a decent selection of wines and hard alcohol...but the craft beer selection is still hands down one of the best in RI. I also really like that they have a vintage / aged beer room which includes a nice selection of various beers they have kept properly stored over the years. Besides the amazing beer selection, what I've always liked about Nikki's is the great customer service I've received from the owners here. If I ever have beer questions, or even the occasional one about bourbon, they are always very friendly and help steer me in the right direction. They also put on a weekly beer tasting most Friday nights with various breweries which is a really good time. Selection, reasonable prices and friendly customer service...these are the reasons why I consider Nikki's one of my favorite liquor stores in Providence and will continue to be a loyal customer. read more

Nice little spot directly down the hill on Cypress, just minutes away from my home, a precarious situation for someone who enjoys sips of aromatic scotches and the tanginess of a dry red wine. Unfortunately, despite the name, this establishment is more of a craft beer-utopia than liquors. Don't get me wrong, beer is great (or so I hear), but I just don't know anything about it to make an intelligent decision during a purchase. I came here to pick out a wine pairing for an oyster dinner and was very glad to have someone guide me through the small isle of wine selections. While she admitted that wasn't the world's expert on winery, she was very helpful and helped me pick out the wine which did work very well with dinner. The scotch selection is decent, and the prices range relatively wildly, even compared to other stores. But the crazy part is that some are definitely cheaper and/or more expensive than others, but without any rhyme or reason. Anyway, given its close proximity, I may find myself coming down here to find out which bottle of scotch is the cheapest, but as for wine, there are other closer shops with better deals, such as Bottles. read more

This has to be the best liquor store I've been to in RI and MA. The staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. They of course have the mix six deal, and I love how the beers are separated by state/country. It makes it so easy to find what you want, plus I've always ended up finding a new brewery I end up really liking. It's always fun and interesting to walk around the store and in the cold section to see what new products they have. Definitely a regular spot for me, whether I want to pick up some cool craft beers or just some regular lager! read more
