This is their first investment home they are leasing and I am their first tenant. I have an 18 month lease at $1,875 per month. No children, just myself and my 11 year old retired search and rescue federally licensed dog. I used a real estate agent that brokered this lease. They were informed and pre approved my service dog and myself on this lease. Crista and Nick Matthews have refused to make critical and necessary repairs to this home. They purchased it, slapped an awful coat of paint without cleaning anything, because now all the paint is peeling. There is mold, filthy air vents that blow chunk of filth out when the AC/Heat system is in use. Both toilets run constantly and leak. They also are not attached to the floor as they are required to be. All of the parts in the toilets are rotted, rusted and deteriorated. The propane fireplace has never worked and was not even inspected by these licensed real estate agents and they refuse to make ANY repairs. The front and back yard are complete mud pits. There is not grass. I leased this on 12/22/22 and did not expect to see grass in the winter, but did expect to see it in the spring. I have personally paid Tru Green and Integra Lawn to to inspect and even start treating the lawn to get it healthy. I did not ask for this money back. I just paid it because I like to live in a nice home. I did ask Nick Mathews if he would split the annual cost of lawn care with me and he turned that down because he and his wife do not intend to invest any money into this property, but high quality, reliable, responsible and on time paying tenant such as myself. I got absolutely no where with them or c21 where Crista Mathews is a real estate agent and therefore wrote a review, like this one. Their natural response was not to get in touch with me as I requested many times in writing via email with them. Instead their natural choice was to send me a 3 day eviction notice claiming my se4rvice dog is not authorized to be at this house. If this is how Nick Mathews of B Realty Joshua, TX & Crista Mathews of C@! Judge Fite Burleson, TX treats a home they own and their tenant how do you think they would treat your home where they have no vested interest and non commitment. They will lie, cheat, steal and neglect your home faster than they have done to their own. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH NICK MATTEWS OF B REALTY OR CRISTA MATTHEWS OF C21 JUDGE FITE REALTY!!! I have an attorney and am now suing them and breaking my lease for landlord harassment, refusal to make critical repairs, unsafe/unsanitary conditions in the home, and much more that will not be listed here, but is in my lawsuit.
