Since I've moved to the west side 9 years ago, I've gone to no less than 6 dentist offices looking to replace my former dentist of 15 years. Each office I attended try to up sell me and tell me that I had all kinds of things wrong with my teeth. Dr. Mashkouri was kind, happy and thorough. Everyone in his office was very professional and accommodating. They did a great job of cleaning my teeth and gave me options that seemed reasonable. I think I've finally found my forever dentist. Dr. Nima Mashkouri is an amazing dentist who takes a lot of pride in his work. He once didn't like how crown fit from the lab, and free of charge, he had it redone to make sure the work was done right. He is like an artist with the teeth. He has a big smile and warm heart. The staff was professional and always courteous toward me, particularly when my parents passed away and I was stressed. Even when I was not as kind as I could be, they always showed up with their heart and care. Nima felt like a genuine friend and brother, not just show care for my teeth but also for my family. I was referred to this office by my dentist because I needed a root canal. I must say that I was very impressed by the quality of care that I received while there. First of all, I was very late due to unusual high traffic. However, they assured me that all was well. When I finally arrived they saw me almost immediately. The doctor made sure that I was okay before he began. He explained everything that was going to happen and was open to any questions. He and the assistant were very patient with me. Maybe he's not the worst DMD, but the administrative staff and billing are the worst, sending "adjustment" bills with no explanation (or detailed), 4 months after. And no ones gives you a sense explanation. It's a nightmare and kind of playing with your insurance coverage. read more

He wouldn't pay to fix his mistakes, so I had to bring him in front of the Dental Board. It turned out, I wasn't the only case. He ended up settling. If he had just done the right thing, he would've saved himself a lot of money and wouldn't have faced disciplinary action. He also could have slept well at night. My teeth are still a wreck, because I don't have $10,000 to fix what he did. I'm not a litigious person. I screwed up by not suing him, and the statue of limitations ran out. Not only is he a bad dentist, he's a bad person. Avoid at all costs! read more

Referred here for a root canal/consultation before getting a replacement crown installed. Dr. Mashkouri is a master of the root canal! The process wasn't painful at all and surprisingly educational and interesting (as getting your tooth drilled can be). The office staff and assistants were wonderful as well. I've dreaded dental visits my entire life until I found this place. Dr Nima and his team have taken great care of my teeth for the last few years. They are professional, friendly, and knowledgeable. I want to point out the hygienists are also fantastic. My appointments have always been super smooth without a wait. Within a few minutes of arriving for a scheduled visit, they are ready to start. Insurance and payment process is really quick as well. I've moved 50 miles away but I still choose to come here. The parking situation may be tough in this area. You may find free parking right in the front of the building if you are lucky. I usually wait 5-10 minutes and a spot opens up. If you are in a rush, there are paid parking structures nearby within walking distance. read more

I had to go in for an emergency root canal and while I was their both the doctor and his aid were very attentive. They were so professional and considerate that on their day off they came to their office just to help me and that meant alot. I highly recommend they're pleasant conversation, very considerate of their patient, gentle and thorough, and although pricey their worth every penny. For years and years, my teeth have been perfect. I learned a lesson when I was a broke college student that cavities don't wait until one has insurance. One root canal later, and I took excellent care of my teeth from that point forward and as a result, I pride myself on my sparkling smile. I went to the dentist every six months and always got a clean bill of health. Since we got new and improved insurance, I thought I'd try out Dr. Mashkouri - after all, he had a cool looking office. Perhaps that should have been a sign. Dr. Mashkouri used all sorts of top of the line tech to examine my teeth...and came back with a diagnosis that I had SIX cavities, needed my root canal replaced and some other work. It was going to cost THOUSANDS of dollars. How did things become so terrible in just six months since I had last visited another dentist??? I returned home in tears. My spouse was SHOCKED and suggested that I get a second opinion. After having the office pester me to make appointments several times, I requested that my xrays be forwarded to me and sought a second opinion with a dentist that I had previously seen. That dentist had my records from 15 years prior and compared them to the new xrays. He saw only one small cavity and thought the root canal looked the same as it had beforehand. The small cavity was fixed for $80. It's been two years since and my latest visit showed that my teeth are in wonderful condition. I hate dentists but I have a toothache so what can I do? I called around to see about pricing and scheduling and here they were able to get be in same day and take a look at the issue for free. The dentist himself actually spent time with me, explained what could be causing the issue and what is not causing it. All the staff was very nice and genuinely cared about getting me help. I don't usually write reviews, unless I'm really happy or really pissed... I'm ecstatic to have found a dental office that doesn't feel like a completion of how fast they can get me out. I wish I would've found Dr. Nima 3 years ago when I first arrived to California. I would've chosen him from day one. Let me just say he's hands on all the way. I never had a Doctor verify every step of a root canal procedure like him. I'm naturally nervous whether it's a Dentist or a Doctor, & he made me feel very comfortable. Here is a review i feel is important. The star rating is irrelevant because i can't rate the dentist based on his work. I am basing this on a shocking treatment plan that i have had 2 other dentists give 2nd opinions on. In short i need some work done on my teeth. the dental evaluation was rushed, and i was told the best plan for me would be to do 3 crowns and 1 filling all on the right upper side of my mouth. i took this info to 2 other dentists who thought this was an unwarranted amount of work - and my old dentist was actually upset that someone would prescribe a treatment plan like that (he saw my teeth a few months ago before i moved.) It felt like the biggest up sell i have ever seen from a dentist. the willingness to grind my teeth down and crown everything was a shocking. also - a concern i had was that the nerve in my living teeth could get irritated and die. this happened once in the past to me. so this treatment plan was also putting 3 of my teeth in some potential danger of needing a root canal. Now, after saying this - it is still quite possible he does great work - but something is off with this. it was an aggressive approach and not like any approach i have had from other dentists. the new dentist i selected has assured me that some basic fillings will only be needed. read more
