We mainly requested a bid on two projects (Kitchen and Primary Bathroom) and help deciding the scope for the remainder of our projects (Flooring, Guest Bath, Office, Patio, Etc.). We were very impressed with how realistic, but also open-minded he was with what portion of our "bonus" projects we could fit in. The formal quote came in fast after our initial meeting, was easy to follow, and fairly priced. Found the proposed timeline to be very well balanced for efficiency vs realism. Appreciated the suggestions provided for if we should/could "live-in" during the remodel vs. a timeline that would allow the bulk of the work to overlap with a time that we were going to be out of town already. Also insights on what it would be worth "buying in advance" to take advantage of sales, even if the actual work was delayed. We got a few quotes and would have felt confident moving forward with any of them when the time came, but the quality of their portfolio and Avi's attentive listening definitely put Teamwork Home Designs at the top of the list. Some aspects of the workmanship appeared rushed, and based on our experience, I would recommend exercising caution with detail-oriented tasks such as wood staining, drywall, painting, or door hardware installation. Daniel ran the job and was fantastic as well. He had great insights, let me nag him about every possible question I could come up with, was flexible if I had any changes of heart about this or that, extremely easy to work with. All of his subs were top notch, which I can say as a business owner in the construction field myself is extremely rare. Plumbing, electrical, waterproofing, tile work, all were fantastic. He's surrounded himself with great people that get the job done right the first time. They're estimated completion was six weeks (we're still waiting for them to finish). It wasn't a major job. We knocked out a wall, re-built a deck, did new cabinets in the kitchen and did simple things like painting and drywall. Nothing was done on time and Mike Baker was the king of excuses... even told us that his alarm didn't go off one day so thats why he was close to 6 hours late. It would almost be funny if it wasn't such a horrible process... The bottomline is that there's hundreds of contractors in Austin who will take your money and do cheap, unprofessional work- don't let these guys. And don't work with Mike Baker.

This guy is a typical irresponsible Austin tradesman overpromising and uderdelivering. I feel sorry for the poor guys working in the shop as he screws them out of opportunities to make an honest living. Don't waste your time with this guy.
