MC Construction did a 450 sq ft room addition for us about 7 months ago. We basically built a new room onto the back of the house where the back patio used to be. We wanted it to be a flexible space for TV, homework, hanging out, games, sleepovers, etc. We replaced the original back door with French doors to lead from the kitchen into the new room. The project entailed removing an old concrete patio and patio cover, pouring new concrete slab, removing siding from exterior wall, framing, insulation, new siding, shingled roof, new small porch and cover, gutters, windows, electrical, moving hose spigot, removing a window from the old exterior wall and closing it up, new flooring, painting the new room, painting the entire home exterior, installing a mini split heating and cooling system, exterior door, and French doors. MC handled all of that, start to finish. The crew- Michael and Cristian are the owners. They are extremely responsive, professional, and communicate well with you throughout the project. It's important to them that they do good work and the client is satisfied. They have a solid team of employees that have been with them for quite some time. Every crew member was kind, puntual, and respectful of our home. Everyone takes pride in their work. The MC crew did the majority of the work, but they have a few companies that they coordinated with for some aspects of the job, such as the AC installation and painting the whole house exterior. You can feel confident in the people that they choose to work with. Taking on a major project like this while living on your home is going to be somewhat disruptive, but the crew made it as painless as possible. We were still able to go about our day and even continue working from home. The finished product- They knocked this out fast and even finished a few weeks ahead of schedule. We are very pleased with the final outcome. Everything was well done. We basically came up with the design of the room ourselves and they made it happen. It's the most used room in our home. Although it is an addition, it doesn't feel like one. The exterior matches the rest of the house perfectly and the inside has a very natural flow. The workmanship is high quality. Pricing- I feel like what they charged was very reasonable. The initial quote never changed aside from some extra things we decided to add on later. This was the best investment we could have made in our home. For what some people pay for a kitchen remodel, we got an entire room and increased our square footage by nearly 20%. I love that all of the finishing touches were included. Most people move to get a larger house, but this turned out to be the better option for us from both a financial and a practical standpoint. Any negatives? I think for a project of this scale, some hiccups are inevitable. Any concerns we had were promptly addressed. I'd do it again in a heartbeat. Our master shower has been a problem since we bought the house 5 years ago. We hired MC Construction to tear it down and remodel. The entire team was professional and courteous. They kept the mess to a minimum and provided quality work throughout the process. Honestly I never imagined the remodel could go so smoothly. Our latest project with Michael and the MC Construction crew was turning a powder room into a full bath with a walk in shower. It involved walling up one door, turning the second door into a pocket from the existing den and turning the closet that had housed the hot water heater into an L-shaped part of the room for the new location of the vanity. The former vanity location now is a beautifully tiled floor to ceiling walk-in with plenty of room. George does the best tile work I know of and takes deep pride in his work. This job involved demo, electrical, plumbing, painting, construction and tiling. I did my own wallpapering. Our project involved swapping wood flooring for carpet on the 2nd floor, cosmetic remodeling of a bathroom, and lots of trim and paint work. For starters it should be mentioned that this company does not have an office or storefront so you will need to make an appointment with Michael. This company came to my attention from a friend who was having his kitchen and bath remodeled by this company. He was so satisfied with the results that I decided to give them a call as well. My wife and I sat down with Michael, who is one of the owners, and discussed what we'd like to have done and he had great input about what else could be done. The master bath and the kitchen were the primary areas of concentration, but we also upgraded the laundry room, hall bathroom and upstairs bathroom as well. All three bathrooms received the upgraded cabinetry and granite countertops. On Michael's recommendation we also added Wainscoting to all three bathrooms and the laundry room. Michael let us know what we were responsible for purchasing for the remodel and he handled the rest. So I wrote a check for several thousand dollars to get the ball rolling and we decided on a future date to get things started (it did get pushed back a day if I recall). They had the master bathroom completely demoed just in a day. However it took almost 2 weeks to get it complete. And it was here where they truly proved themselves. Everything was straight, flush, plumb and level which are 4 signs of great workmanship. Next came the kitchen where all the old counters and cabinets were torn out. At this point you'll find all your kitchen ware will be in boxes piled up in your living room and covered over in plastic because there will be some dust. Needless to say you'll be needing to get food to go for about a week while the kitchen gets put back together. Because of the size of our counters and the backsplash, we had to purchase two slabs of granite. It is here that I would like to call out the extraordinairy expert work done by Lucinay granite in liberty Hill on Highway 29. Their installation and the fact that they matched up the flow of the granite into the backsplash really showed their craftsmanship. The photographs really don't do justice to the work they did. Now that this big job is done, my wife and I are already thinking of another small project for MC to do. read more

We have hired MC Construction to do several jobs over the past five years. In 2019 they did a complete remodel of our master bathroom, re-tiled our master bedroom floor, painted our kitchen cabinets and re-tiled the floors, and re-tiled our guest bathroom and installed a quartz countertop and new sinks. They did a fabulous job. In 2020, MC Construction painted the outside of our house and replaced the siding on the back of our home with Hardy board. In 2023, after having to have the water re-piped throughout our home, MC Construction patched walls and retiled the shower walls that had been opened for the re-piping. Recently, they repainted much of the interior of our house. (We waited a year before painting the interior walls that were patched.) We know that we can always count on Michael and Christian to do a great job. After working together for 5 years, we also consider them friends. This is the second time that we have worked with Michael and Christian and their crew. These guys are excellent. In the past, they replaced trim and baseboards throughout the house and painted interior doors. They also replaced our front door. This time they worked with us as we replaced air ducts behind drywall. They recommended an AC guy to replace the ducts and then MC patched the walls and ceilings and painted. They also replaced the bathroom flooring and installed a new bathroom vanity. They ripped out old wallpaper in the bathroom and painted the walls. The bathroom looks amazing! In the kitchen, they took out the old box light that we had from the 80's and installed recessed lighting throughout the ceiling. It also looks amazing. Communicating with this company is very easy. I felt comfortable calling or texting Michael or Christian throughout the project as these came up or as I added more to the project. An additional project that we had them do was a retaining wall for leveling ground to install a shed in our back yard. The crew is super nice and polite and trustworthy. We were out of town for a week with them working in our house and not a single issue. They even cleaned up after themselves every day which was extra great because we were still living in the space with two little kids during the project. Pricing is definitely fair and they even line itemize things so that we can pick what we want to move forward with or not. This company is excellent. The masonry work is artistry. Michael Vasquez, the owner of MC Construction came out and listened to me and helped me understand the project. The fireplace had no gas valve or key. They had to break through the masonry to find the internal gas pipes. George carefully made plastic sheeting "walls" to keep the dust out of the room. He worked steadily even found a double stone wall behind! Then the Plummer came in and updated the gas pipes and put in the valve. George came back a few days later and redid the masonry. Let me first say I'm not one for reviews, and when I normally give them, they're for negative reasons. With that said, Michael and Cristian are worth a positive review. As a first time home buyer who dropped a lot of cash on a home, I've become protective and weary of who would even touch her. Especially when I needed an entirely new exterior door cut, framed and installed. After getting multiple bids, I went with these guys based on reviews and professionalism. I was not disappointed. After interrogating Cristian about how they were going to frame the door when he and his crew arrived, he put my mind at ease during the entire process. They even installed layout board to protect the flooring, wore booties at my request and wore masks. To find a company that can do it all, and do it well, is not easy. There were a lot of so called "remodel" companies that didn't even want to give me a quote for framing an exterior door, but MC Construction didn't flinch at all. I'll definitely be using them now and in the future on bathroom remodel work in which they'll be completely replacing bad work that was done by the previous homeowner's so called "contractor". We had planned a total home remodel (1600 sq ft, 3/2 with gutting of bathroom and new kitchen footprint) and interviewed several contractors. We found Michael and Christian through a referral from a contractor in our neighborhood. We had plans from an architect to change the footprint of the kitchen and master bath. M & C had a lot of great ideas that we incorporated into the project and their crew did great work! Christian built out beautiful shelving in some new closets and our glorious new pantry. They gave me an estimate and showed up right on time a couple of weeks later. It took a crew of 3 about 6 hours to get it done and it came out exactly how we wanted! They installed a limestone rock border around our tree and flowerbed. They were careful with my lawn and even saved some grass to put over the spots affected by the digging. The first picture is what the master bathroom looked like when I moved it to my home in December of 2019. There was no separation between the master bedroom and bath, so I woke up every morning looking into the bathroom (at least the toilet was tucked behind the low wall). The tub was impressive but impractical and uncomfortable; you could't really stretch out in it, it took a massive amount of water to fill it, getting in and out required some careful balancing, and there was no shower. Plus it was right in front of the window! I also did not care for the pedestal sink and the fancy gold fixtures. I finally decided that I needed a bathroom that was not only more to my taste, but would be functional and "age in place" friendly. I got bids from four highly-rated contractors and decided to go with MC Construction and Remodeling. They did submit the lowest bid, but the reason I selected them is that the owner, Micheal Vasquez, when he met with me to look at the bathroom, made a number of design suggestions that I had not even considered, such as a undercount sink. They began work May 3rd and finished June 3rd, and that includes the week or so we had to wait on another company to fabricate the vanity countertop. The following pictures are of my remodeled bathroom, which is now indeed its own room, with a pocket door. The tub was moved away from the window and against the back wall, replacing the pedestal sink and making the bathroom appear larger. The tub is walk-in and has a shower with a swinging panel door. There is a large vanity on the opposite side, plus all new LED lighting. The construction crews were very professional and responsible, their work was excellent, and they left the area clean. I am really happy with the way the new bathroom turned out. I am planning some more remodeling next year and will certainly be calling on MC Construction again! read more

MC Construction just completed a total remodel of our master bathroom and we couldn't be more pleased with the result. We were given a quote for the work and chose and purchased all of the materials, staying within the budget that we were given. Michael, Cristian and their crew took it from there and were able to give us a beautiful, new bathroom. The demolition work was as quick and clean as possible. The work entailed removing the existing floor tile and base boards, the shower surround and shower floor and the existing whirlpool bathtub as well as the vanity countertop and mirror. Our furniture was covered with plastic, plastic covered the doorways and paper covered all walkways. We had the shower lengthened and retiled, and a custom made glass shower surround installed. They also installed a freestanding tub and tub filler along with a new toilet. We also had new floor tile and countertops installed, and the bathroom walls and all doors, including the cabinet doors painted. They installed and painted new baseboards and built a frame for my vanity mirror. They were meticulous about making sure that everything was centered and level, including my new towel rings, towel rods and cabinet and door hardware. I did have a problem with a subcontractor scratching my countertop with tools and Michael had someone out the next morning to completely remove all scratches and checked himself to make sure we were both absolutely satisfied with the work. In fact, anytime I expressed the smallest need for something to be looked at or considered, Michael and Cristian always responded with, "we can/will do that"....and they did. During the construction process, we also discussed rewiring the lighting and installing dimmer switches and a pocket door, both of which they did for us. All of my suggestions and requests during the remodel were met with enthusiasm and a positive attitude. I truly couldn't have asked for a better team from the owners to the crew. Everyone arrived with a positive attitude and wore a mask daily. A huge deal to us during the pandemic. This was our first remodel project and we would definitely consider MC Construction if we decide on more projects.
