Its so easy to miss this gem traveling from Annville to Palmyra. Having a less than stellar experience at another pho stop in town I did have my doubts about this place. Outside its easy to mistake this place as a flower or gardening shop but that's just a credit to the owner's wife's passion for gardening and fresh ingredients. Inside is very simple and no frills but thats not a bad thing! We were greeted by the owners wife and seated by their son. I ordered the Pho rib eye and spring rolls and husband got the spring rolls as well and a rice dish. The flavors were so vibrant and fresh! Pho came with the usual cilantro, bean sprouts, etc to customize to your liking. There was nothing left by the time I was done, even drank all the broth. The wife checked on us a few times and graciously bid us fairwell, saying to please come again soon. We saw the owner and his son in the parking lot and chatted with them and another patron who finished before us. Very down to earth family with so many stories to tell. I could talk to them all day. Finding non-American food in the area is difficult but decided to stop by on a cold day for some much-needed pho. It is authentic Vietnamese food, probably the best for the area, not the best I've had but for the area I am satisfied with the quantity and quality. No frills, big flavor, great service. My partner and I visited for the first time, and wow. We were pleased with our dining experience. The restaurant is unassuming, with a small parking lot and minimal interior decorations. The menu is broad and, for those unfamiliar with Vietnamese food, illustrated alongside names and descriptions of each dish. We got spring rolls with shrimp and pork. They were large, fresh, and delicious. We also ordered a rice noodle dish with marinated pork and a pho dish with beef. Both were outstanding. The noodle dish was savory and bright with fresh veggies, including carrots and cucumber, and a tasty dressing. The pho had an outstanding broth with a generous serving of beef, noodles, sprout, and cilantro. The portions were generous; we ate until we were stuffed because the food was too good to waste! We also got an iced tea with boba and jellies, and a preserved lemonade. The lemonade was a miss, but I think this was because I didn't really know what to expect. (After looking it up and finding an alternate name is "salty lemonade," it's clear the drink was what it was supposed to be, but wasn't what I was looking for that evening.) I was visiting friends in the area and they brought me here. Annville Township, where Ninh Kieu is located, has a population of ~5,000 people and less than 1% of the population identifies as Asian (2021 census), so I was surprised to find such good, unapologetically Vietnamese, food. We went for dinner and got the nem nuong spring rolls, pho tai chin, southern style bun rieu, and a couple other dishes. I didn't get any pics cause I was too excited and was focused on catching up with friends. However, I enjoyed the food so much that I went back the next day after I had already had brunch, before my drive back to MD, and ordered a bun bo hue for dine-in and a pho tai to-go. The bun bo hue is a different style than any other I've had and the pho broth was some of the most flavorful I've had. The size small servings are generous - I had leftovers from both dine-ins and split the pho takeout into 2 servings. It stayed delicious even as I ate it over the next two days. The couple who runs this place is so nice and they have their wedding and family photos up in the restaurant and their kids doing homework in the dining room. You can tell this place is important to them. Apparently, they are fixtures in the community and have provided 1cent pho for people who have lost jobs, given free meals to honor roll students, and offered discounts to seniors. When Michael was growing up in the neighborhood, this place was the local convenience store. We drove by his childhood home a few days ago and we're so excited to see there is a Vietnamese restaurant here so yesterday we came here for lunch and we are so impressed! The food is truly authentic and delicious! It's also very reasonably priced. We had a wonderful time visiting with the owner and are so impressed with how involved he is with the community. I got the pork banh mi, pork vermicelli and the shrimp summer rolls. The pork banh mi was delicious!!! The baguette was perfectly chewy and fluffy, the grilled pork was juicy and flavorful and the veggies were crisp and fresh. The shrimp summer rolls came with the delicious peanut sauce that tasted incredible. I will definitely come back here often when I'm in the area!!! I really wanted to like this place more, as it's family run and has a program to reward local honor roll students, but I wouldn't return. We stopped by on our way out of Hershey. Place was empty as it was in between lunch and dinner. The wife was friendly, but service was slow. We wanted something off the menu for our 5 year old, but instead were convinced to try something on the menu, the grilled chicken w/rice. Chicken breast was cut thin and overcooked. Same for the pork w/rice, and the meat was not hot, so I imagine it was all reheated, and not well. Our other kid enjoyed her chicken pho, so that was good, but I found the broth rather bland. Shrimp and pork salad was tasty, but small for the price, needed more cabbage. Used to eat there when it was in Harrisburg. Eat at it now when I go to the VA hospital in Lebanon. They are in Anneville kind of close to the college. Great food beyond just Pho. Great variety of summer rolls if that is your thing which it is my thing. Since I like spicier foods I usually get the central or southern Vietnamese style soups. They are not called Pho but something else I don't remember the name. Menu has a picture and description of each food item. I just wish they stayed in Harrisburg or even moved to the west shore since i live in Mechanicsburg and only go to the VA in Lebanon a few times a year and with still high gas prices for my gas thirsty truck, I hesitate to make a 75-80 mile round trip just to eat but if you have never tried it. It is worth the drive if you enjoy Vietnamese food. read more

I ordered their house special pho and shrimp spring rolls. Both were fantastic. The broth tasted great ... better than most other places I've tried. The owner is incredibly kind. They are just opening up, so have patience when you arrive. As a little plug for the owner's character, when it was time to pay, I gave him my credit card...their machine wasn't working. He gives me my food, and said, "you can pay me next time." I asked him when they closed, but he insisted that I not make a special trip. Let me just start off by saying do not judge a book by its cover. And yes I give this restaurant five stars. When you come looking for this restaurant be careful not to miss it it looks like an old 7-Eleven and the parking lot has cars being worked on in it and cars covered up it looks a mess. There is no sign on the front of the building only at the street. I recommend you ignore what it looks like and go inside to eat. I eat at a lot of Vietnamese restaurants and this one tops a lot of them. It appears to be family-owned and the woman who served me took care of all my needs and was very friendly and helpful. I first ordered the Vietnamese spring roll it came full and fresh the lettuce was so crispy it crunched with every bite. These spring rolls were so refreshing I could have eaten them all day long. Second I had the Vietnamese fried egg rolls, they were smaller and they tasted incredible if you like egg rolls they're very flaky and thin and very tasty. My main dish was again the small combination pho. This dish comes with meatballs ,brisket, tendons all the goodness that comes with all the pieces of meat. The broth flavor was amazing after adding my hoisen sauce and my sriracha sauce it was just unbelievable. The bean sprouts, mint leaves, cilantro and the jalapeno all were so fresh and crispy when I broke up the mint the aroma was amazing. I usually don't finish my pho but in this case I gave them back a dry bowl. This restaurant is located across the street from Lebanon valley college I recommend you stop in and have a great lunch or dinner whatever you prefer they have a large menu which I really appreciated and you can see that in my pictures. Great addition to Anville! Food tastes great and is pretty authentic (I'm Vietnamese ). We tried the seafood soup and pho. Authentic home cooked Vietnamese food. We always stop by here when leaving Hershey Park and the food never disappoints. My husband always gets the spicy soup and we order the Pho tai Bo vien. Egg rolls never disappoints and the spring rolls are freshly made. The broth is on the sweeter side so if you're looking for savory, you will be slightly disappointed. Ordered Spicy beef pho had just the right amazing of spice. Spring rolls were light and tasty with great tasting dipping sauce. Annville is very fortunate to have this Vietnamese restaurant to provide authentic Asian food.
