I've never understood the following for this restaurant. There are places in the area serving much better tasting pho. We recently stopped in as a party of five and all of us ordered the pho. I still find the broth to be lacking in flavor and the noodles were undercooked. I can make a more flavorful pho broth at home with two pieces of star anise, 3 black cardamom pods, a pinch of coriander seeds, a cinnamon stick, 5 whole cloves, some garlic, a chunk of ginger, and a few secret ingredients. The worst part for me was the garnish plate with the bean sprouts, jalapenos, basil, and lime. The lime wedges were dry and the bean sprouts were brown on the ends and way past their prime. The basil was fresh. I have been here several times between the first review I made and this one and I actually feel like the quality has gone down. I like the vibe of the place and I love pho. I just wish the food was up to my expectations. read more

I LOVE Pho and whenever I am in the Harrisburg area for business, I try to stop for some. I found this little gem in Mechanicsburg while looking for somewhere to eat lunch. It's located in a plaza off of a main road and isn't hard to find. There is plenty of parking as well. When I walked in I noticed this place is cozy and clean with plenty of seating. I placed a to-go order with the friendly staff at the front (Pho with brisket and steak) and it was brought out to me within about 5 minutes. The Pho is neatly packaged with the fresh ingredients (basil, bean sprouts, lime wedge, sliced jalapeños, steak and noodles) separate from the broth. They give you a little container of sriracha and hoisin sauce that is mixed together already. I should've asked for extra as I like mine a little spicy. This smelled so good that I couldn't wait to arrive to my destination! When I finally was able to dig in, wow!! This is easily one of the best Pho places I've tried! The broth was flavorful and they didn't skimp on the noodles and beef. The beef and steak were tender and very tasty. I had ordered a large with intentions of taking some home. NOPE. I finished the. whole. entire. thing. Tip for those that want to eat lunch AT the restaurant - they offer a good lunch deal on pho, a spring/egg roll and a beverage but it's eat in only. I highly recommend this place for Pho and I am looking forward to visiting in the future to try some other food items here!! read more

What in the world?!?!? In the middle of small town PA, there's a DELICIOUS pho place... who would have thought? Anyhow, the broth is so good. Not too salty and doesn't have that odd old meat aftertaste. They have great portions and my kid (super picky) asked for seconds. She even asked for an order for take out (never happens). We also ordered their egg rolls and spring rolls. Very good peanut sauce to accompany the spring roll. Woooaaass.... Incredible. Can you say absolutely incredible. Amazing. I tried the Pho with a combo of flank steak & brisket with a recommendation from the owner and she was spot on. Freshest vegetables I've had in a long time. Succulent sliced thin beef. What more can I say? Oh yea, I can say the spring rolls were fantastic. Fresh, light & delicious. The price of pho here is a bit higher than other pho joints, but the ambiance is hip and it's a class higher, and the serving size of pho is noticeably bigger. We had P1 - Pho Tai (well done beef) and P7 - Pho Chin Nam (lean beef brisket and tendon). Both were quite up to par. In addition to the usual pho noodle soup, we added B2 this time - Grilled Pork Vermicelli Salad. It came with fish sauce on the side and we put it all in. It was so tasty and flavorful that upon sampling a few bites, the broth of my Pho Tai was rendered lame and tasteless. So much so that I had to squirt quite a bit of Sriracha to maintain the "high"! My point is that B2 is highly recommended. I am glad to find that the ambiance has not deteriorated over the years and that they have kept up the service and food quality. The first time my wife, daughter, and I went, the food was really good. Loved the fried egg rolls and the pho was hot and delicious. The second time, my wife and I ordered the same thing as before, but to go this time. We were charged an additional $5 for food containers!! Styrofoam and plastic quart container for the broth (2 orders of pho and 1 egg roll order). By the time we got the food home, the "rare beef" was way over cooked and just lost all sense of texture when the broth was poured over. There are better places around for really good pho. read more

Absolutely delicious pho. I had the chicken pho (small portion) and the broth was so rich and hearty that I wanted to drink the entire bowl. The chicken was tender and juicy as well. The portions were generous and I was very happy with the food and service. My family also enjoyed the beef pho. I noticed that they charge extra for "to go" orders. Came here for the first time and tried lunch. Its located in a busy plaza but there is ample parking. The place is clean and modern and the staff is friendly and efficient. The thing I like about lunch is that they have combo options that come with either a spring roll or an egg roll and a drink. A lot of times when I go for pho I want those things - but in a lunch scenario I don't want to pay dinner prices. This is perfect for lunch to get a choice of pho and the bonus egg roll/spring roll and drink. For my drink I chose an iced jasmine tea which was refreshing and delicious. The pho was hot and had plenty of meat (I always just get the rare beef) and the spring roll was delicious and came with a peanut dipping sauce that was great! Who'd a thunk we could find a good Vietnamese shop in the wilds of Central Pa? Certainly not this cowboy. But, having exhausted most of the other options in the Carlisle/Mechanicsburg vicinage near the Turnpike, Yelp alerted us to Pho 7 Spice just a few miles north on Carlisle Pike. We had the time and decided to go for a bowl of Pho to tame the beasts growling in our bellies. Angel greeted us at the door with a warm smile. She was well named. She showed us our table, oriented us to the menu, took our drink order, and was brightly curious when I mentioned I had been to Vietnam and loved the cuisine and people. We kept it simple with small bowls of Pho Ga (chicken) and Pho Tai Nam (Steak and Flank). The drinks and soup accoutrements arrived promptly. They were freshly green and alive. My mildly salty Preserved Lemonade was a thirst quencher and pleasantly different than the standard variety of squeezed lemon and sugar. The Pho arrived steamy and loaded with noodles, onions, and beef. The Chicken version likewise, with lots of chunky cluckcluck. The broth was amply savory without the need of any help in the spice department, but adding the Sprouts, Thai Basil, Jalapeno slices, and a squirt of lime boosted the oral festivities. They were excellent bowls of Pho. We didn't have time to linger over VN coffee or other end of meal possibilities, but Pho 7 Spice has my attention and I am excited to return there on my many drives out to Carlisle to pick up my son. There is much more on the menu to be tried. The food, along with the wonderful hospitality provided by Angel and her compatriots, will bring me back many times, and doubtlessly end up in 5 Star territory. Simply, Phonominal! read more
