I have been seeing Dr. Cheema for 10+ years. I would not see another doctor for my specific…read morechronic pain issues. Dr.Cheema LISTENS. There are so many doctors out there doing the "Ah ha. ah ha ...". They aren't listening to our needs. I had been going through hell for years. I was at my primary care physician's office and, again, going through all of these ailments. She told me about this Dr who had recently opened his office in Joliet. She went and made a call and that doctor would see me as soon as I got there (WHAT?!?!!!!). That was Dr.Cheema's office. When I arrived to his office, his staff was so kind and truly cared for my well-being. I saw Dr Cheema within a couple minutes after completing the necessary forms. Dr Cheema LISTENED and we developed a plan together to treat each issue as we could. I felt as though I was his only patient (which I definitely was not!!!). I was on my was to feeling better, whether it was with medication, acupuncture, injections and more. If you are experiencing ANY kind of pain: Headaches, knee pain, back pain, cervical (neck) pain, lower back (lumbar) pain, numbness, whatever it may be, please do yourself a favor, and please stop suffering through pain, even being uncomfortable, and call Dr. Cheema's office and get the treatment that is perfect for YOU. Everyone is different and everyone needs to be treated differently. My chronic pain is, most likely, completely different than yours. Do one thing for yourself, make an appointment And see Dr Cheema. Other perks of Dr Cheema's office: Physical Therapy, COOL SCULPTING, Botox (LOVE!)!!!! And so many quality products for everyone. Take care of your own self. It starts with YOU. Stop telling yourself you'll do that on Monday. Then next month. Complain and complain and if you don't do anything about it, you will continue to feel like poopy!! Most of us have healthcare insurance, Medicare, etc. - we pay for that!!!!!!! Use it!!!!! Make an appointment to see Dr. Cheema. What's the worst that could happen? Yep, not much!!!! And, when you do see him, tell him you saw my review on Yelp, and Yes, I am a NICE Karen. God Bless and I hope you see Dr Cheema real soon and start feeling much better.

Dr Cheema and his staff seam to know the right questions to ask in a very caring and polite manner. I would recommend Dr Cheema to anybody experiencing chronic pain!

Dr. Hashim was the first pain management doctor I consulted with. I saw her until 2015, for a few…read moreyears until I personally took control over advocating for myself, researching treatment for my condition and ways to manage my own pain. I was naive at the time to put my trust solely in my providers) Again, I saw her for a few years; each appointment would take between 2-4 hours each time. Not because she was overbooked, but because everything moved at a snails pace there. She would do a pill count each month, and lecture and yell if you were even one pill short on a non narcotic pill. I work in retail, I put my pills in a separate non descriptive holder since my work bag must be clear plastic, and also separate each medication into a weekly holder to organize the amount of all medications I am on for my degenerative condition. I went through several medications as she did have some patience when it came to listening to how the effects were; however, despite my complaints on Lyrica being the worst one for me; this medication was always increased each month. I hope as a patient reading this you are aware that doctors receive incentives to push certain medications; and Lyrica was clearly her cash maker. I had migraines, leg swelling, numbness, fainting and at my dangerously high dose before I fired her as a doctor - I was blacking out from this medication. In fact, when it became apparent she wouldn't work with me on lowering this medication.. I did it myself. I was taking 1/3 the dose she recommended, felt better and wasn't blacking out in the a.m. (When I mention black outs, I mean complete black out. I would be awake, by yet sleep walking and nodding off frequently. She showed zero concern for this when it was mentioned by me). She wasn't even concerned that I told her I was concerned for the blacking out as I had a young child at that time. The final straw of her frequent anger (usually directed towards her poor staff) were enough for me to never go back. Her cat had died. I had my young son with me for my appointment, as these would take hours (thankfully he is a very quiet child, and would be amused by playing ipad or coloring). No one notified us in advance. My son, 3 at the time, asked her where the pictures (screensaver) of her cat was. She replied 'Dead you little axxhole' THAT was the final straw. I took my monthly rx and never returned. Now that I've been away and educated myself more on medication, I'm very lucky she didn't cause me to be so over medicated that I died or caused an accident while driving. Her blatant disregard over collecting incentives from Lyrica is disgusting. Ironically since I've not seen her as a patient... and I do work in retail... this review is finally written after seeing herald her anger recently in the form of a horrid adult tantrum at my place of employment. She actually screamed at a coworker since we were out of an item that was being discontinued and was on clearance. We had offered to call other stores, or look online and she had the nerve to belittle us like the adult bully she is. I personally also witnessed her popping a few rx pills as she was shopping before her erratic outburst. Please chose your pain management providers wisely. They literally have your life in their hands, and you need to advocate for yourself. Also, if you are pushed Lyrica and it doesn't work out or you also have horrible side effects please advocate for yourself. This medication isn't the end all / be all as she touts it to be. It just happens to pay doctors the most in bonuses and vacation 'seminars'. Don't give up, there are many amazing providers out there. It's just a long hunt for the right one.

worst place to receive any type of treatment. Dr Hashim has zero empathy. This is not about drugs…read moreor the office. This is about her behavior as a physician which is questionable and unethical. I have been of patient of Dr Hashim for many years and her attitude never changed even though I hoped it would. I only hate myself for continuing to stay in her practice and not leaving sooner. It is very difficult for patients to locate a pain management doctor and Dr Hashim knows this and uses it to mistreat patients and talk down to them. She talks down to her own staff and that's why every visit there is someone new. her staff leaves because they can't tolerate her moods and hostile work environment. In a year she has gone through at least 4 nurses. Her staff is the only thing she has that is good. She is a vile human being and should be stripped of her license. She cares for no one but herself promoting injections when they are not medically needed. Most doctors care about their patients but this doctor only cares about money.... her reputation speaks for itself. Read not only reviews from her previous patients but also from her employees. Good Riddance!
