We've been dealing with Nisby for the last 2 years and it's been nothing but utter disappointment. Their work is horrible, the facia on the garage came off and was dangling for months, screws backing out, loose siding, damaged shingles, dents in various spots and leaking gutters just to name a few. They've come back several times to "fix" their work but were still left with a crap job and disappointments. If you can't do a decent job or hire decent contractors please don't take peoples hard earned money. If you wanna pay a company for good work and a good price THIS IS NOT THE COMPANY FOR YOU. TRULY REGRET using Nisby and I would NEVER recommend this company to anyone. read more

Probably has too much work and not enough experienced tradespeople working for them. The people that did the roof punched a hole in the kitchen ceiling...The guys that did the vinyl siding put a hole through the living room wall... The plumber took nearly two weeks to finish bathroom reno because he had other jobs going on...Painting in bathroom started pealing only after 5 months. Instruction regarding size and colour of the ceramic tiles in the kitchen were not followed. There is probably more but my inlaws are probably to embarassed to tell us because they were taken in by this supposedly reputeble company. Anyone looking for a job should probably watch 5 episodes of Holmes on homes and be better qualified to do the jobs that were done at my inlaws. read more

They are good to deal with until you sign the contract!!! - they dont have employees only contractors that do not know what is going on - they measured two of our windows incorrectly and had to wait months for replacements - they did not show up for the first appointment to install the windows - we had to leave numerous messages with them before they would call us back. - when we had our door replaced (by the owners son) they had a guy come out to adjust it and he said that "who ever installed this door did not know what they were doing" - they told us that they would deduct money off of the bill and provide us with a $100 Tony Romas gift card but later found out that it was only $60 - they had to return one year later because moisture was seeping through the bottom of one of the windows, when they removed the molding found that there was barely any insulation. read more

We chose Nisby as we like to support local businesses and they are a business our family has been familiar with for years. WHAT A NIGHTMARE! Beware. Jim, who is mentioned below is downright rude to the point of being threatening. He was happy to pick up our deposit, never saw him since. He does not return emails despite having read them. The contractor they chose to do our work was a lovely man who was simply not qualified to do the work. They messed up a lot but promised perfection. We believed them. Then Jim asked his employee to get a second payment which we paid but with some trepidation. 5 months later we are just finishing the nightmare. We must say the subcontractors were fantastic! Met Mr Nisby on the golf course in Palm Springs. What a fine man he is, beat him at golf but he was very honest & promptly paid his bet. Read some of the testimonials on his company & apparently his honesty is shown with many satisfied customers. Hope to run into him again. He even invited me to stay at his home should I ever make it up to Winnipeg. read more

Unreturned phone calls, delays, follow ups to ensure your project is underway is what my experience involved with this company culminating in property damage which the company will not return my calls about. The only thing they did quickly was charge me for the work. Absolutely terrible customer service and not worth the hassle to deal with this company. If you want a good product but poor service, then Nisby Home Renovations is for you. Our windows were supposed to be installed within 4 to 8 weeks. They were all installed 17 weeks later. My wife and I had to call Nisby numerous times to try to get an update on our windows. Our salesperson was quick in writing the order but did not have enough customer service courtesy or just did not care enough to keep us aprised on our window status. I would never use Nisby Home Renovations again for any of my home renovations projects. read more

This is an update to a previous review. I did attend the Nisby headquarters today and I was very impressed with the treatment I received by their vice president, Mr. Dan Walker. It is the spring now, and the roof, doors, windows, stucco painting, soffit, fascia, siding, eavestroughs and downspouts etc. have been more or less completed. Actually, the bulk of the work was done before the bad weather arrived, so that is a great thing. They have promised to return once the weather improves to just do a few touch ups, and minor details that are still outstanding. So, I must say thank you to Mr. Walker for his professional attitude and willingness to listen to me regarding a small discrepancy in accounting the final bill. They have even agreed to install a new mailbox and light fixture at the front that was accidently damaged during the renovations. Again - thank you so much to Mr. Walker for taking the time out to listen to me - he is a credit to the Nisby Home Renovations business. BTW - he is being interviewed on CBC this evening, so watch the show! He also explained to me how to input the tax credit on my tax return which was much appreciated as well. My hubby and I are relieved that we had these repairs done and the neighbours seemed to be impressed as well! read more
