It is also located close to Niskayuna, which is a safer, nicer, area of Schenectady. The apartments are the perfect size and they apartment building is well maintained. As I've continued to live here, I've come to realize how incredible the management is. I have lived in different apartments for 7 straight years now due to moving with school and my husband's job. Oh, and a 2-car garage! There are two styles, this a "condominium style" and the other a hotel style (one main secure entrance and all the separate apartment entrances are inside. No longer have to do yard work, snow removal, don't have to repair or replace appliances, don't have to pay for weekly pool service or an annual gym membership. Need something, just "call the team." They are polite and prompt to respond. Close to shopping, restaurants, casino and downtown area. Cable included! Electric, gas, water, sewer and garbage are an additional charge but National Grid is around $110/mo and the other utilities/garbage average less than $50 month. If I could have anything different, it would be a different style refrigerator, the upright with freezer on the top (and no ice maker) doesn't provide much freezer space. Without reservation, we recommend the Reserve at Glenville for a peaceful, beautiful lifestyle! My mother lived in Hillcrest Village since 1994. She has never missed a rent payment and has always…read morepaid her rent on time. She recently passed away in 2022. When her children went to get my mom's security deposit, they stated the lost the records since she has been there for so long. So Hillcrest will not pay a grieving family a few hundreds bucks. My mom could have bought the apartment outright for what she paid. They are over priced, and have had a dead tree in the circle of the West side residence for at least 15 years. The various management companies have gotten worse over the years. I would look elsewhere. Not only that but the entrance way to my her building is falling apart, and there's trash everywhere. I lived there with my mom for numerous years, never has the management been this bad.

(I don't work for RH, they contract to the company I work for). I feel the price is a GREAT value when comparing to other local apartments. The amenities are definitely part of the value. Underground heated parking garage for one vehicle, the heated pool (although a bit small) trash removal, cable tv and internet, gym, fire pit with two commercial grade grills and community room are all part of the rent. Most places charge extra. The staff are genuinely interested in you enjoying your apartment. It is very much a community. It consists of all age ranges and we all interact well. The only real negative I can say is that now there is a lot of construction going on. The only real issue we have had to speak of is a tenant that felt our dog was aggressive and threatening and rather than speak to us directly about it chose to go to management. It is a VERY dog friendly community. If you're not a dog friendly person then it's not the place for you. Yes there are varying sizes of dogs but I contribute that to "it's a service dog" excuse. None the less it's so dog friendly that we had a text chain for dog owners that would get together and let the dogs play together out on the large grass areas. In summary, it's an active community in the sense that there are three restaurants in the building and that the community really watches out and helps each other. The quality of the construction of the building is second to none. All concrete and still definitely well insulated from neighbor noise. I highly recommend River House. From the ladies in the office to the the maintenance staff they are top notch.

FULL DISCLOSURE: I was threatened with eviction after living there for more than a year because the property manager decided my 23pound dog was vicious and a danger to everyone living at Riverhouse because she barked at men.

I move around quite a bit for work and this was by far the worst renting experience. It was a dirty place to begin with but figured for a temporary stay for few months it would be okay and the owners/management seemed nice. The water was often brown & I'd see roaches/critters. I cleaned the place up so it was in better condition than they gave it to me when I first started renting, but they still took a good chunk of my security deposit. When I asked them about it, they blamed me for the way things looked...which again, was way cleaner than when they first leased it to me. If the apartment was a few $100 less in rent, maybe it would have been worth it...but for the quality of the apartment & rude response regarding the security deposit, definitely not worth it.

Maddalone swore they were going to fix them, but never officially did, the ceiling continued to leak in my bedroom and the kitchen up until we moved out. In the backyard, the fence was rotting on the posts and kids were tearing it apart. Management did nothing. We were also told we would receive our deposit at the end of the month (30 days). We left the apartment in good condition and as clean as possible. 30 days later, no deposit. I was then told "end of the week" then "two days" and finally I threatened to take them to court in order to get our deposit. It was $30 short from when we paid an increase in the deposit to match the rent increase.
