Dirty, old, loud and obnoxious. How has the health department not shut them down? All those critical violations and still operating. Llc is not in good standing. I suggest making the extra drive and go to Houghton. The food and service is much better. read more

Casual, local breakfast joint. We went on a Sunday morning and the dining room was packed with a long wait. We decided to order carry-out which took about an hour. The omelettes were average. There aren't too many other options in the area however I'm not sure it's worth the wait. read more

I ate here for breakfast, and the food was basic diner. Honestly, if anything else were open mid week, then I would have eaten elsewhere. But I guess this place competes by being open longer hours. The inside is basic. The food was fattening. The eggs over easy were cooked well, but the hash browns were a little under cooked. Maybe the menu is better later in the day. Service was quick and attentive. There's an EV charger in the nearby marina park, so I was happy to be back on the road quickly. read more

This charming small town Diner is very unassuming from the outside. The coffee was good considering it was ordered after 3pm. Everything was cooked tp order, so if you are visiting sit back and soak up some local color. I ordered the night owl special with 2 eggs over easy with hash browns and a biscuit. I also had a side of gravy. It was a hard pass on the bng. The sausage patties were very good. My dining companions had the Denver sandwich, a spinach omlet and Buffalo chicken. The Denver sandwich was great and well worth getting it. Overall if you are in the area it is a good place which is open late for the town. read more

Walked in on the afternoon of 6/21/21, took a seat in a booth, and received not as much as a glance from the server, who was very busy chatting with her friends at the cash register. God, this place was unexpectingly amazing! The best breakfast I had in the U.P. over the Memorial Day Weekend, (and I stopped at quite a few diners). It's the best meal I've had for combination of price, quality, portion size, deliciousness-perfectly cooked food. I stopped through here just a few minutes after they opened on a Sunday morning, and there was a few locals gathered around a table, (and a few more that joined later). It was fun to listen to the local banter while reading the local paper. Everyone seemed to know each other which added to a familial ambiance. I ordered the "Night Owl Classic," which came with two eggs, hashbrowns, choice of sausage, (got bacon), choice of bread, (which they make on site)! I ordered the rye, and it was so good!! Everything was PERFECTLY cooked! The bacon was incredible; I'm assuming it was procured locally, because it was not the hormel variety, and tasted like some of the better bacon I've had from local farms before. I couldn't believe they made their own bread there, and how good it was. Friendly staff and patrons too. I will be going out of my way to eat here whenever I'm within an hour or two of L'anse, and can't way to try some of the other food here. read more

Stopped here for lunch on our way to Copper Harbor. Had a turkey club on homemade sourdough bread and it could not have been better!

Nice little cafe with great food. Considering I only saw 4 people working the place (serving/cooking) everything was great. We didn't mind waiting slightly longer than usual and the fact that the food was good made the wait worth it. This place is so great!! Don't let its outside appearance fool you--the food it amazing and the service is great! A little dark inside, but if you sit by the window it's not noticeable at all. My fiancée and I love this place! Best restaurant in the area. Small town diner feel. The Friday night fish fry is to die for - the whitefish especially. We call them whitefish poppers. The perch and trout are also good. Also love the spinach salad and wrap and the steak sandwich. Salad bar is fresh, broccoli and cheese soup and homemade pies (get the raspberry!) are also superb. No complaints whatsoever. For context, we live downstate, have traveled the world and consider ourselves "foodies". This place is legit. read more

Typically, we have good service and the food is alright for the cost and type of venue. However, this morning we had extremely poor service. It wasn't the young lady who waited on us, who was busting her butt working. Instead, the problem was her co-worker who wasn't working at all. At the time of our visit there were 11 tables full, including ours. Yet only the lady who waited on us would serve anyone or do anything at all. The lady who wasn't working would refuse to help when customers asked, claiming she was training the other girl and wasn't allowed to help. We couldn't even get refills on our coffee. After trying snd waiting we decided to pay and go. So we waited and waited trying to get the first girl to give us a bill and go-bo. eventually I asked the other one. She did give us a bill but refused to get us a go-box. she didn't mind loudly exclaiming after her refusals to help, that people didn't realize how hard it was for her to not help. So, to the poor young lady who had to do all those tables, carryouts, cash register, and busing - great job you earned that 20% tip I gave you. To the lazy, unhelpful, and adolescent lady who kept refusing everyone's requests - you should look for something else to do. For the owners- you need to have a heart-to-heart with your people: abandoning a new sever to do everything is not training it's abuse and it hurts your business and your business reputation. read more

We were searching for an establishment willing to make 60 pasties for our son's outdoor Keweenaw wedding rehearsal dinner. We did not need to travel up and down the peninsula as we expected we would need to do. The proprietor takes pride in the pasties she creates. The pasties are a great value; under $5 for an 18oz beef made with fresh ingredients. Although pastie-making day is Tuesday of each week, she insisted making them the day of the dinner, timing removal from the oven for the time we picked them up 30 minutes before the dinner. She wanted to ensure they would be hot out of the oven, fresh as possible after our 20 minute drive up the coast to the venue. They were so delicious. We had native Yoopers in attendance declaring these among the best they ever had! Entering 4 stars only because we have not had a chance to try other menu items. If the owner gives the same care for the entire menu as for the pasties, you shouldn't be disappointed. read more
