Who likes a little abuse in their life?! My hubs and I do! We keep coming back to the Cozy Inn for the food and the banter from the local waitress, Katie. We have been coming here for years, so let's start with our first visit. The waitress wasn't friendly. She was short, abrupt, and a little scary and we didn't want to piss her off. We even tried to be friendly and that seemed to piss her off more. So let's diffuse the situation and order some drinks! Full bar....no long islands, no red stag and coke, no hard cider....so we got what we could. We order the homemade burgers and fresh cut fries. The food was amazing! We kept coming back in hopes that the waitress was having a bad day. Nope! That's her.... we now come to expect no hello, warm beer, no glasses or mugs with our beer, or any type of follow up. Have you been to Dick's in Chicago or San Diego?! Well, if you haven't... you can find the same experience here. Dick's is known for people being rude to you on purpose and that's part of the experience. Was she like this to us? Nope! Everyone was treated equally. Let me jump back to the food... during our last visit we ordered the fried dill pickles, BLT, and the white fish fry. If you're health conscious, this is NOT your place. If you're looking for some good food and an experience, this absolutely your place. If you're looking for someone to be nice to you too, check out Mt. Shasta down the street in Michigamme. Popped in on the way to Houghton. Surprised the restaurant with a group of hungry and thirsty hockey parents. Chef was gluten free so understood about allergy. They have gluten free buns. Cozy burger was amazing. Lexi our server was top notch. read more

The item that caught my eye was the Mushroom Swiss Burger. A patty of beef with melted Swiss and loaded with mushrooms served on a toasted bun. I am very picky when it comes to beef burgers. I like mine medium, with barely any pink in the middle. Normally they get set in front of me and someone cooked all the life out of it and it is as dry as can be. This was the first burger made with beef that I have had in over 6 months at LEAST, and it was absolutely amazing. Now that we know how close it is when we are in Michigamme, we will definitely be going back for more, and I can't wait to try another juicy burger! We have been driving by Carla's Cozy Inn and finally had time time to stop in for dinner. One of the daily specials was a wet burrito for under $10. Wow! It far exceeded my expectations. The tomatoes were fresh, lettuce crispy and sweet, came with sour cream onions, salsa, re fried beans and rice. I couldn't finish it. They also had several craft beers on tap for $3.25 a pint. The service was efficient, friendly and knowledgeable. The interior was "Cozy" and family friendly. We will make the Cozy Inn a stop next time we head that way. Want a taste of local fare and feel? This hits the spot. Our sweet server, Misty made us right at home. It was a nice surprise to find several Michigan artisan brews on tap here plus a full bar. Be prepared for a fried food menu but you must not depart without feasting on the fried dill pickles and a combo of freshly caught Lake Superior white fish and trout with sweet potato fries. The food here is pretty good but some of the staff are awful. The owners daughter is pretty messed up and very rude. The construction guys working in that area wouldn't go there for dinner on the nights she was working, a group of 4 of us went to the cozy on Saturday October 3rd, to have a few drinks and a bite to eat. As soon as we walked in we were asked to leave because they were at full capacity and I understand that. We passed another group of people in the parking lot and told them they won't be able to go in since it's at full capacity, we then waited in the parking lot to see if these people would be asked to leave and nope they were allowed to stay. Nobody else had walked out either, I went back into the bar and asked how that could happen and she told me other people walked out after us, which was a lie. So they just lost our business. I think they need to give the owners daughter a different position where she's not working with the public. When ordering a drink from her she gets crabby like really you expect me to get up? Sad because the owners before had an awesome business and it was a great place to go have a few beers and a burger, not anymore! I've heard a lot of other people complain about this girl. So if you go to the Cozy, depending on who's working be prepared to be treated very badly. read more

A few years ago I would have given this place 5 stars, but not anymore. First of all the service is just awful. A certain waitress with dark hair is so unfriendly and rude, it makes going out for dinner not worth it. The fish fry is what we go for usually on Friday's when we are up at our "camp" over the summer. That has gone downhill. There were times we would wait over an hour for the fresh caught trout, but, now I don't want to wait 10 minutes for them to cook it. The adult beverage I ordered tasted like a kiddie cocktail too. Just very disappointing all the way around, but especially the waitress. We won't be back...she sealed the deal. Mt. Shasta is opening up down the road...I'm sure they will far exceed my expectations, just knowing who the owner is. read more

The food is great but the bartender is RUDE!!!! She's not friendly at all and very rude to the customers!! She acts like it's a burden to wait on you! It's a shame that she's the owners daughter, cuz instead of getting rid of her I guess they'd rather lose their customers. I won't be going back as long as she's there! Which sucks because they have really good food but it's not worth being treated like that. read more
