After a rather heavy night…read moreon the Friday I thought it would be a good idea to head out to the countryside for some fresh air and explore the nearby Marble Bridge area - an area full of nice walks, rivers and some lovely little boutique shops, restaurants and cafes. Needing to start thinking about working on my hangover with a serious filling of food, I was more excited by next door BBQ restaurant 'South 7'but was convinced that Libby's was a cool place to hit - especially with having our 1 year old daughter in tow. And wow was I impressed - what a lovely cafe/bar that ticks all of the boxes for me. So first off they do a great lunch menu of full on sandwiches - my wife having what she called a tasty vegan hummus sandwich while I went for the other end of the spectrum by having their pulled pork sandwich (huge and amazing value for £4.50) - both coming with great big salads. My wife said the coffee was good while I had a bottle of Brooklyn beer (£4.50) - which did hit the spot with the food. This place has a full bar, an open plan kitchen, seating for about 50 inside and lots of lovely long benches like some east London hipster bar making the mix of customers a range of families, couples, old's and anyone who likes damn good food and drink in a relaxed setting while flicking through the complementary newspapers. Extra bonus shoutout for the baked in store bread which you can take away - their loaf was duly polished off in record time by me yesterday!

Everybody feels uneasy about goats. Why do they taste sodding identical? Eating goat's cheese brings me as much joy as sniffing Big Billy Goat Gruff after he's been in the gym, something I first discovered in the restaurant that's so good they named it twice, Tapas Tapas. A combination of agreeable staff and out-of-the-way location make this the ideal place to get gradually sozzled on wine and bask in the warm wooden coziness and brick-walled splendour of a restaurant with enormous amounts of quiet humility. Still, I'd rather shoot a sprout off my dog's head with a flamethrower than try the goat's cheese again.

Despite the huge pieces of cured ham leg hangign from the ceiling a la authentic castillian restaurants I can't say that it was the best Spanish food I have tried - not even in Liverpool now that it feels our economy is based on Tapas places! At around £4 - £5 pounds for a plate this is about avaerage for a tapas restaurant, unfortauntely so was the food.
