I actually paid him above his estimated price on the first couple projects because I thought he did such a quick, conscientious job. Along the way, he sold me on some concrete work by our garage. This is where things started to go south: They removed the temporary irrigation where they were doing cement. They never replaced it. They also broke part of the maintenance strip they had put in while excavating and promised to fix that after. More on that later. One day they dug/excavated for the cement. During this time, they talked to the new neighbor moving in next door, told us if we both poured the cement at the same time, we'd both save money. We agreed. This meant a delay on getting our cement. A day after they dug for the cement, we started having wastewater and sewage spill in our yard. I called him and he played dumb. I had a plumber out who showed me exactly where they had cracked the pipe. I paid to have it fixed. They didn't show up for over two weeks during this time. The grass all died where they had removed the temporary irrigation. He promised to fix it when they were done. Finally, cement pouring day came. They actually did it for the new neighbor before us even though ours was first excavated and they only got that business because of us. Not only did he try to collect payment again-- I had to show canceled checks that I had already paid, there was no cost reduction for waiting and doing it at the same time as the new neighbors, at least not for us. Now it's been more than a month. I texted yesterday to ask when he was coming to remove the wood, the rebar and the weird piece of metal mesh they've left here for 2-3 months during this process. I haven't received a response. He promised it would be done on April 1. I haven't heard from him since he promised that, about a week before April 1. Tyson knows I've been nothing but generous. Who doesn't demand a price reduction when a contractor breaks his sewage pipe, fills his yard with wastewater and stench and then plays dumb about it??!! I actually think Tyson is a nice guy. I think he's gotten so busy chasing the next job that he doesn't take time to finish jobs well. If he can rebut one thing I've said here, I'm happy to listen. I have a paper and text trail to backup everything I've written. He can also just do the right thing and correct what he's promised to do and I'll gladly take down this bad but currently well-deserved review. The pictures show how our yard was left, how the cement infrastructure was left behind and how they splashed cement all over our new house and didn't offer to fix. It also shows where they screwed up the grass and the maintenance strip.
