We researched wall bed options from a number of different vendors online and through Yelp, but I'm…read moreso glad we went with Karen Stanley from More Space Place on Anderson. She was very patient as she walked us through the different options for the design, materials, finish, etc. for our wall bed. We were even able to use our existing mattress (I think it had to be under 11" tall). I'm quite petite, but the bed is weighted properly so that I can easily and smoothly pull it down or lift it up by myself. Pro tip: take measurements of every inch of your room (including where the window sills are, how far the window sills stick out from the wall, etc) and bring those measurements to Karen. She can mock up the room in her design software which really helps visualize how far the wall bed will protrude into the room and where you want to place it. Don't forget to measure how far the doors open into the room and where the edge of your ceiling fan comes to! The different finishes, materials, and designs make a BIG difference in the price so if you're looking to be more cost-conscious, let Karen know and she can show you which materials are the less expensive options vs. the more expensive. We put in a deposit of half of the full cost of the bed, the other half was due upon delivery. You put in the order with Karen and it takes them a few weeks to get the ordered materials in. Karen's staff then schedule a time to came to install the bed - it took a couple hours and I was glad I was there to finalize placement on the wall. They even cut small chunks out of our baseboards so that the bed would sit flush to the wall. Ask to keep the chunks that were removed so you can try to patch them back up if you ever move. You can also call More Space Place if you move in Austin and for a pretty reasonable fee they will come uninstall the bed and re-install it in your new home so that your movers don't break it! We've gained back the use of that room as an office and exercise room instead of being mostly taken up by a large bed! The process was easy and painless, delivery and installation went smoothly, and I didn't even have to pick up any tools.....soooooo worth the money! Thank you again Karen!

I highly recommend this company and it is owned by a woman or at least it was last time I checked…read more I'm an interior designer and I design quite a bit of custom furniture myself and have just moved back to Austin from Southern California. I have a new project where I recommended that my client take my drawing and have them design something similar for the laundry room as his new house has no cabinets there. They do a fabulous job here and you won't be disappointed. I use a custom cabinet company for custom millwork in the main living areas, etc.. but for closets and laundry rooms and even home offices I think they can do a great job! They did my master bedroom and den closets for me. I went with the darker wood because that's what I had throughout, but I recommend using white in closets as it doesn't show the dust as much.

First, they showed up to help me trudge through the terrible job of purging and got me super organized. The painful process was somehow made doable by Kat and her team (shout out to Emmerie!), with their firm but gentle persistence to get it all done. They really kept me on task/gave direction when I needed to sift through things which was incredibly helpful. Otherwise when I had to work or was busy with my kids they never seem to waste a minute. Moving with two toddlers was completely overwhelming, but they unpacked and got us organized in the new house in just two days. I called them back to organize the garage I'd managed to stuff full with overflow and in just a day they had it all perfectly purged, sorted and stacked. They showed up on-time and worked without stopping aside from a short lunch break (which was always fun getting to chat with them) -which was quite impressive given the slog I put them through. They are delightful and super enjoyable and easy to work with, I cannot recommend this crew highly enough!!

She was so much fun to work with - so personable, not too serious yet still very professional, and was genuinely interested in my actual life. She even wanted to meet my 8 guinea pigs, hee-hee - it was so awesome that she is also an animal lover, and has a big heart for animals (kiss-kiss for Julie from Auntie Jackie!). Randi also made a huge effort even before our first appointment to understand exactly what I was needing, and asked me to send her some photos that were both fun and also pertaining to what I used the room we would be working on for (i.e. that showed what kinds of items I make in my sewing and craft room). I call myself a mini hoarder, especially when it comes to fabrics and crafts, and she was so patient and non-judgmental towards me. It's very reassuring as well to know that she has so many years of experience working with other adults with ADHD. She snuck in some helpful gems of how to stay organized as we were working through our 3 hours without me really realizing it, but that info sunk in. Only a day after working with her, I found myself looking at a few lamps in that and another room and thinking, "I can donate those - I can let them and tons of other things like those go, and it will make my life much easier and less stressful to let them go. We're not even using them or haven't for 6 years!" She was very inspiring and working with her made me excited to do more, not only in that room but in the rest of the house. I would highly, highly recommend her!

After moving into a new house this past summer, I had the task of furnishing and decorating it. I…read morehad read a few articles about feng shui online and had used it for my previous place of residence, but I felt that some things just weren't right. It was time for some professional help. Looking online, I contacted a few people via email, but Belinda was the only one available in my time frame. I had a free phone call with her in which we discussed my new house, who would be living there, and other details. She came up with a plan to visit my house, do a clearing ceremony, and visit my house again once I had finished making the changes. After discussing the plan with my parents, they decided that the current package was too expensive so I told Belinda and she cut down on package options. After discussing it with my parents for a while, we settled on a package with an in person visit and a phone call followup. I figured I could easily do a clearing ceremony myself: there were no previous residents so I didn't fear any bad energy lingering there. I emailed Belinda a copy of my floor plan and set an appointment for Wednesday at 11am. Belinda arrived on time and we talked about the house and my goals in life. She took a directional reading with a compass and went around the house. I took notes as we walked around. She gave suggestions based on the layout of the house. These suggestions included placement of artwork in certain areas, rugs on floors (I never used rugs before this), room color schemes, room uses, and feng shui items. Some notable suggestions I received was to move my office to the first floor because there was more energy down there, put a blue rug under my dining room table because it was next to the living room to separate it, a pink color scheme for the master bedroom, and a large tapestry in the living room. (Everyone's suggestions will differ based on their place) Belinda explained that the suggestions were based on the direction my house faced as well as other factors. She made some notes on the house layout for me to keep and suggested some places to buy furniture (like At Home and Amazon). Places that didn't break the bank were also suggested. She didn't make any radical changes to my home layout. We needed to fully furnish the place so most of the house was empty. I did my shopping at IKEA, Wayfair.com, At Home, Society 6 (for artwork, cheaper than art.com) and amazon. Got my couch at Sams club though. I framed my pictures with picture frames from IKEA. For my bed I got a piece of plywood from Home Depot and screwed it on for a solid headboard. When it came time for the phone consultation on how my new home was doing, I emailed photos of each of the rooms as well as a video walk through (I hosted them on dropbox.com). Belinda saw my photos and said I did well with the decorating, and made a few minor adjustments on certain areas. So far the results have been great. I can move through my house with ease and I feel that the energy flows nicely. My garage doesn't feel cluttered as everything is to the sides. I sleep well at night and get things done in my office as I can see the window and living room with my back against the wall. My parents (they visit a lot) like the layout and pictures. So far my career and life have been going well with some changes here and there. I'm still working on clearing the clutter from my tables (sign that I have too many things to do at once, but I'm working on that). Overall I feel that my home looks and feels great. Belinda was amazing and easy to work with. She listened to me and was willing to use different solutions to reach an objective if one wasn't available. Avi was an absolutely delight. Fast, clear communication before the initial meeting. Very thoughtful approach in our initial meeting. So many images from their highly impressive portfolio to help us think through options. Excellent examples of communication and workflow from previous projects. Instantly ready to share previous customers we could reach out to for references. A really good balance between sharing his ideas for our project, but also really listening to our feedback on what we wanted/invisoned. All the right insights for how to keep us in budget, and very generous with (we can add this/that for little/no extra costs since we're already doing XYZ). We mainly requested a bid on two projects (Kitchen and Primary Bathroom) and help deciding the scope for the remainder of our projects (Flooring, Guest Bath, Office, Patio, Etc.). We were very impressed with how realistic, but also open-minded he was with what portion of our "bonus" projects we could fit in. The formal quote came in fast after our initial meeting, was easy to follow, and fairly priced. Found the proposed timeline to be very well balanced for efficiency vs realism. Appreciated the suggestions provided for if we should/could "live-in" during the remodel vs. a timeline that would allow the bulk of the work to overlap with a time that we were going to be out of town already. Also insights on what it would be worth "buying in advance" to take advantage of sales, even if the actual work was delayed. We got a few quotes and would have felt confident moving forward with any of them when the time came, but the quality of their portfolio and Avi's attentive listening definitely put Teamwork Home Designs at the top of the list. Can't wait to work with them in the future.

The team appeared comfortable working on bathroom renovations; however, the shower diverter was not installed correctly, which caused the handle to be improperly aligned. We later hired a licensed plumber to inspect and correct the issue. Overall, the quality of work did not meet our expectations. Some aspects of the workmanship appeared rushed, and based on our experience, I would recommend exercising caution with detail-oriented tasks such as wood staining, drywall, painting, or door hardware installation. This project did not go as smoothly as anticipated, and I would not choose to work with this company again.
