The Quincy Artsfest has established itself as one of the finest family oriented art and photography shows in Massachusetts, and it is one a the few things left to do in town that is free! They have 4 different art exhibits, childrens' workshops, entertainment, and craft sales. It's usually held two weeks after Labor Day, and it is a fun place to take the kids! There was an exhibit of local artist Daphne Confor's wonderful portrait art, blues bands, a generous spread of free pizza and snacks, and a cash bar with cans of beer etc. I had never heard of Milton Art Center before. Apparently they have classes as well. Fun event in a beautiful old public library building.

It allows the child to learn in their own time removing, shame, pressure and ultimately, anxiety. And yes, they learn. My 6 year old is reading chapter books. What it does, is gives them the gift of actually learning for enjoyment. The teachers are nurturing, accommodating and the facilities are excellent. If you're on the fence, check it out- I believe tours go year round. Also worth visiting is the elementary program where not only academia (like math/ reading etc) is taught, but yoga, breath work and organic gardening are practiced. Cannot recommend enough.

Despite the image portrayed in marketing materials and on review sites, I found very little sense of genuine family community and very poor academics. There appeared to be significant cliques, gossip, and social divisions among both parents and staff. I also observed what seemed to be political alliances among teachers and administrators, which contributed to an uncomfortable environment. Academically, I was disappointed with what was delivered for the tuition cost. My child learned significantly less in kindergarten than my other child has learned at their current school during the same timeframe. For the amount families invest, I expected a much stronger educational program and greater academic rigor. In my experience, other private schools and even some local Catholic schools provide a stronger academic foundation. The school promised stem and robotics for young students and that never Was provided. neasc has been notified of all of this yet continues accrediting the school. I was also troubled by concerns regarding professionalism. Teachers were filming a 5-year-old child and sharing the footage with other parents, which raised serious concerns about privacy and judgment. Additionally, there appeared to be ongoing challenges with teacher retention, resulting in staffing changes and classrooms being reassigned when teachers unexpectedly left. This created unnecessary disruption and inconsistency for students. The school has a beautiful campus and tremendous potential, but the overall organization felt disjointed. Too many things seemed to be handled on the spot rather than through well-established systems and planning. Frequent staffing changes, inconsistent communication, and a lack of clear structure contributed to the feeling that the school was poorly managed. Horrible horrible leadership. I also noticed that Google reviews are no longer available for the school. While I cannot speak to the reason, I believe prospective families should carefully research the school and speak directly with both current and former families before making a significant financial commitment. I would also encourage families to look beyond ratings on sites such as Niche. In my experience, those ratings did not accurately reflect what we encountered. When negative reviews are posted, it can appear that positive reviews quickly follow, making it difficult for prospective families to get a balanced picture of the school's strengths and weaknesses. As a result, I found the online portrayal of the school to be misleading compared to our actual experience.

It's 3 years later and I have a second child…read more Ethan has been attending Rock It Baby class since he was 6 months old. He is 11 months old at the time of this review. The staff has changed since my daughter attended, but the classes are still very enjoyable and worth it. Ms. Nicole leads Rock It Baby and she's wonderful. I highly highly recommend Over the Moon for both baby and toddler classes. One thing to address from my last review. I mentioned my daughter was at a different development stage than the peers she attended classes with. At age 4 my daughter was diagnosed Autistic. Seeing the difference between her and other kids her age is what set us on the path to getting a neuropsych evaluation for her. I really appreciate that Over the Moon gave us the opportunity to see our daughter interact with her peers. I was a first time parent and it was just after the first COVID wave so I didn't realize my daughter was missing milestones. Today, my daughter is 6 and thriving. Mainstreamed for Kindergarten and extremely talkative.

We entered our girls into Thacher in the upper elementary school (grades 4-6) this past fall. While…read moreone of our daughters is having a very positive experience, our other daughter has been having a less positive one. She has dyslexia along with some other learning issues, which we made very clear to the school during our application. Her teacher, Amy Smith, seems both unwilling and unable to work with students who don't learn in the normal fashion. Amy has been very difficult to work with: she doesn't communicate well and she doesn't follow through on things she says she'll do. With the exception of one administrator, the school has been completely unsupportive of us and our issues. We will be withdrawing both our daughters from the school next year. I would recommend Thacher upper grades for students who are bright, quick, and self-motivated learners. If your child isn't all of those, I would highly discourage you from choosing Thacher. Certainly if you run into problems, you won't find support from the administration. We were warned by a family who had a very similar issue last year. Their daughter was also dyslexic, also had Amy Smith, and also had a horrible experience with the administration. They withdrew their daughter mid-year (forfeiting their tuition) because their daughter was so miserable.
