In town for a day and found this place. We were mentally prepared for a sit down a la carte lunch (we definitely wanted stay away from buffet / AYCE). Glad we checked before sitting. Apparently they will not give the bento box for sit in. Ordered two bento boxes, that come with Miso Soup, small salad, some cucumber and avocado sushi rolls, vegetable tempura, veggie stir fry, and two spring rolls. Checked with lady who the order, they do not add any fish ingredient and broth is veggie. Love that it makes vegan friendly. The sushi rolls perfect and fresh and well filled. The stir fry still hot when got to Barrie lakeshore, the rice perfectly cooked. The tempuras a bit greasy but they normally are. The sale was meh, and spring rolls crispy and freshly fried as well and still warm. Would have preferred to sit in. If we knew the quality was this good, we may have been tempted to do the AYCE. read more

The food here is great and there's a lot to choose from. For what you get, the price is really good, the staff are super friendly, and the place is so clean. Even when they are busy, you don't wait long to be seated, and your food usually come pretty quickly. The only criticism I can give this place is you occasionally don't get the exact amount of an item you ordered, but you can always order more as it's all-you-can-eat. I've been here numerous times with friends and we've always left satisfied. Visited for lunch. Great selection of food. Grilled foods were the start of the show. Sushi was AYCE quality, the tempura was on point. Wasabi had a bit more kick than Fork and Spoon. Main complaint was over cooking the rice noodle. They certainly should have thrown those poor noodles a life jacket to save them. I'd expect that from white people. Value wasn't too bad and service once they realized I was there was bang on. When you go for Thai fusion, crappy noodles are the bane of a visit. read more

First time here. I am always down for AYCE coz I am a piggy lol... apology for lack of photos, came with a group and don't want to hold everyone up. Anyways. The restaurant is huge. It was very busy but we still managed to get a table right away. They offer Japanese as well as Thai food. Every table has an iPad upon which you order. The decor is modern and spacious. But I think they may need to do some inspection... towards the end of the meal I started to feel water drips on my arm. It turned out to be from the air con in the ceiling? When point this out to the staff, they said "oh that sometimes happen and we just close this table." Hm... Otherwise the wait staff were courteous and prompt. I have to admit the menu app is pretty cool. It has separate categories like appetizer main, grills, rice, chicken, etc etc. Then after you made the selection you could actually see what you've ordered so as not to repeat. Items that's included in the buffet menu has zero dollars sign next to it; additional order like alcohol there's price next to it. This is pretty handy if you don't want to accidentally get things not included in the price. That being said, I think that's the extend of the novelty for this ordering app for me... one would think that the restaurant is trying to automate things to reduce manual labor. However, once we made our selections, it doesn't get sent to the kitchen. You actually have to confirm the order, by having the wait staff come over to the table to hit a few buttons to get to the kitchen...so I don't see the point of this app... We also ran into another problem... when it took forever for our food to arrive, the wait staff realized that the internet connection must been unstable so it didn't get sent, so they had to do it again. The Japanese selection of the menu was pretty standard. Fresh raw sashimi. Good appetizers. The salad (seaweed and crabmeat) were very tasteful. The sushi was unfortunately not done well... the rice crumble as soon as you try to pick it up. I had to get a spoon to catch the rice lol...the wasabi also lacked kicks. On the Thai selections- we didn't get to try many as too full by then. We had shrimp red curry (not authentic) and chicken in peanut sauce (this was very yummy). I really wish we had more room in the stomach for dessert. . Was eyeing the creme brulee and fried ice cream but alas... it wasn't measnt to be. read more

Our waitor asked us if we have been there before and proceeded to explain to us how to order and such since they use ipads! ..My first time using an iPad to order so that was interesting. They provided very fast and friendly service, our attention was brought to them fairly quickly, the food was quality and fresh, decent to nice presentation for the small appetizers and such. I also love how they had different sauces for the appetizers, considering not many sushi places do that , they always be giving spicy mayo with everything lol... I came in with zero expectations, since it's an all you can eat place, and I'm notorious for disliking AYCE places - try my other reviews. I do AYCE when I'm forced to, and it was one of those. At the end of the day, the place turned out to be a very pleasant surprise, with excellent (for an AYCE) quality ingredients, and friendly service (despite forgetting to make part of our order, even though it was logged into their system). Altogether, this probably the best AYCE sushi place I've been to, in Canada. Will repeat, if the opportunity presents itself. read more

Well. That was interesting. I've never been to a restaurant before where it was AYCE and instead of ordering from a waiter or going up to a buffet, you ordered from an iPad! Cool idea, not sure how hygienic the iPad is tho! Ordering aside, the quality of food was a bit on the same level as ordering from a buffet, but maybe slightly fresher? Everything came out within 5 minutes of ordering which was a great plus! We ordered so much food from every category, but I think food like their pad Thai, pad see ew, and beef satay shone through as opposed to their sushi. Service was whatever though - the waiters would put the food on your table without even glancing your way. It made it a bit difficult to get the waiter's attention! This was a very pleasant surprise! You never know the quality of sushi in a city, but everything was delicious and the waitstaff was friendly and quick. They worked as a team someone was always offering refills, clearing empty plates and picking up new orders. When they first opened I loved this place... but over the past year it has steadily gone downhill. Today was my last my last visit... or should I say their last chance... and they blew it big time. I went around 2:20 for late lunch. The place was not that busy as most of the lunch crowd had returned to work. I was seated quickly but then I waited... and waited... and waited. I saw 3 waiters (might have been more) and at least one of them looked at me several times but no one ever bothered to come to my table. The fellow who seated me took my drink order when he sat me down... a Diet Coke... but never brought my drink. I literally waited just over 20 minutes before I lost patience and left the table. I tried to tell the "manager" what I thought of the "experience" but the fellow behind the cash registered couldn't seem to figure out how to find a bill for a party of four that was trying to pay and leave... they didn't look very impressed either. After watching that pathetic scene for several more minutes I finally gave up and walked out. I won't comment on the food but rather the customer Service. At the end of the meal I said that we had five adults and one child. They ask my child about five times how old she was and my 12 year old said 12. I get the bill and she charges me six adults. I say that my daughter is 12! I assume a manager comes over and ask for ID for my daughter!!!! We are all saying she is 12! My daughter is looking at me feeling really uncomfortable. This manager says in a condescending tone that she will let it go this time but to bring ID next time. How many of you carry ID for your 12 year old I found it rude and insulting. Either I didn't look young enough to have a12 year old or my daughter didn't look like one. And all for $10 dollars! If it wasn't for the principle of the matter I would have gladly paid it. My first time here and never again. Service was horrible. The server gave us a play of sashimi and left. That means the server just gave it to my friend and left. She was holding it and went what the heck? Not just that. When you order food on the iPad, it doesn't come with the same amount you ordered. For example, you order 15 PCS of salmon sashimi for 3 people, that means 5 pcs per person makes sense. They came out with 5pcs only. In a way, thats not smart because servers have to walk more to get more. Also inconvenient for the customer because we continuously order the same food over and over again.
