4.5 stars taking into account a few very nitpicky details but rounding up because honestly it was a killer experience. I went for brunch and opted for the bottomless drinks package. I never had an empty glass. Service was so incredibly attentive without ever feeling overbearing. They brought out starters promptly. Edamame was really great. Loved the shishito peppers as well. I didn't even touch the miso soup lol. Saving my appetite for the main event! The sushi buffet was truly excellent. The sashimi was impeccable quality. One very minor complaint is that the plates were very small (not a huge deal, I just felt bad for the staff for having to clear plates often as I could only fit like four pieces of sushi on one, lol). I thought the range of food was great. The salads were really nice as well. There was a very simply dressed spinach salad with a subtle truffle flavour that I loved. The choice of mains is really just a bonus. I opted for the black cod (of course) which (of course) was fantastic. Honestly the buffet was so good I would have been just as happy without it but who can complain! Minor complaint is that the dessert selection was just okay. Honestly given how phenomenal everything else was I was a bit surprised they didn't elevate the desserts as much. I had some decent churros with a truly unbelievable caramel sauce and tried a brownie that I didn't love. I didn't come for the desserts and it still hit the spot, but they could show them some love! BE WARNED: I dined here alone a couple weeks ago and asked for Omakase. The server did not know what this was and put in about 400GBP of food items (It was a couple small plates, a few full size appetizers and a few full size main courses including about 8 ounces of very expensive Wagyu that came out last and was wasted). The food all came out quite quick before I could tell them to stop. I was able to eat the first few things (about 60GBP of value of food). The restaurant admitted this was a training fail on their part (I have the back and forth emails) but still charged me for a full Omakase price even though I never had an Omakase experience! It's a real shame as Nobu has been one of my favorite restaurants. To charge the customer for their own self admitted complete failure is a DISGRACE!! read more

Yikes! Bad service, mediocre food. Hard to believe this is a Nobu. Malibu or NYC Nobu team would be ashamed. Upon arrival host stand was empty, then received a cold greeting. Had to wait 20 minutes for our table. Sushi and sashimi were nice... Drinks took 45 -- i repeat-- 45 mins to arrive and had to ask about them twice. Then during the meal we were NEVER asked if we wanted additional drinks... absolutely bizarre. Crispy rice was soggy. Tempura shrimp had no crunch. Wagyu gyoza was just ok. Had to ask them to take the 45 min late margarita off the bill. We were neglected the entire meal. This is not the Nobu experience! read more

Great - as always! We did the Saturday brunch which was £110 per person and comes with bottomless Prosecco. The service was absolutely amazing, as per usual. The sushi was great, fresh and good variety. The chef recognized that my wife was allergic to seafood and added a complementary cauliflower dish for her which was a very nice gesture. I wish I could claim this as a review of a full-blown dinner experience at Nobu - still waiting or that particular date ... Instead I attended an event here the other day and sampled some of the lovely canapes, and if these are anything to go by Nobu Shoreditch certainly lives up to its reputation. The event was in celebration of the Nobu Contemporaries Collection in conjunction with Saatchi Art and made us even more aware of the beautiful interiors. The artwork by Rod McIntosh fits in perfectly with the calm and zen-like overall ambience and design. The paintings are on display in the lobby until early May. read more

Decent but a little sceney, despite the peaceful-seeming ambiance. The flavors were a little heavy-handed, e.g. the salad with truffle was drenched in a truffle parfum, that i was tasting this many courses later. The black cod was delicious and buttery but a little over seasoned up too, and didn't get through to all the layers. Everything was fine very well though, and no real complaints. read more

Being an LA native, of course I found myself at Nobu. Overall, everything was very consistent from a menu standpoint compared to their other locations. All the sashimi, fish and rolls were tasty and fresh. The cocktails were also consistent with that of the other locations. The manager was very attentive and ensured our experience was great. I got the Margarita Mia for a cocktail which was delicious. We also got the toro roll, spicy tuna roll, black miso cod, yellowtail with jalapeños, crispy rice with spicy tuna and the vegetables (they said the vegetables were very spicy but we didn't find them to be spicy at all). My friend's husband very generously paid for our dinner at this elegant restaurant, which was something of a relief as it is very expensive. The food is lovely though, I particularly enjoyed some of the cold plates and it was exciting to eat the black cod after reading about London celebrities dining on it when I was a teenager! Excited to have had the experience but it's definitely a special occasion place and you might find a better quality-to-price ratio elsewhere. read more

We attended a group dinner in an event space on the ground floor overlooking the sunken garden and some street art on the side. The room had large windows and a high ceiling and was filled with light. It was a great space for an event. The food, of course, was top notch. The cooked food was more impressive than the sushi and sashimi, which was high quality but no better than sushi and sashimi you would find at any high end NY or London restaurant. A friend observed that their signature dish -- the cod -- would have been a bit better if served with a side of sticky rice. All in, a great experience. read more

The food delivered as usual. Can't fault it at all. The ambiance is nice, however we did not enjoy being sat right by the server station, with staff rushing past us every few seconds. It just doesn't work for a luxury restaurant. Service was ok, but nothing special and not too attentive. After dinner, we decided to have a last drink outside by the beautiful flower wall. First we waited at the bar for forever until we received our drinks. Ordered a house Cabernet Sauvignon. The male server seemed to not understand us properly. We get a Cabernet Sauvignon blanc, so we send it back. Finally we get the correct colour wine. They take 10+ minutes with the bill, so we have enough and say to just bring it outside when they're ready. When we get the bill we question why a house Cabernet Sauvignon would cost £18. The lady then tells us that the guy at the bar poured us a more expensive wine despite asking for the house wine. The error was clearly made on their side. With wine you do not know what has been poured, yet she passed their own mistake onto the customer. I don't mind paying £18 for a glass of wine if I ordered it. To me, it's about the principle and cost you a star. read more

This experience was absolutely amazing! Both the food and the service were off the charts... The sushi chef was incredibly friendly and had some great recommendations. I ordered all vegetarian dishes and was quite amazed at the quality, freshness, and innovation behind the dishes. I would recommend the spinach salad which was absolutely incredible and the eggplant. I think this is a much better experience than I had even at Nobu Las Vegas!! read more

Super cool atmosphere! Sat out in the beautiful flower garden area- very Instagram worthy! Service was excellent! Staff was friendly and very attentive. We spent a ridiculous amount of money here because we literally ate the entire food and dessert menu. We drank the entire beverage menu. EVERYTHING and I mean everything was fresh and absolutely delicious. Food and drink were both impressive in term of presentation and mix. Lobster tacos were amazing! Yellowfin was the best I have ever had. It is very much the Nobu quality you come to expect. Highly recommend!!! read more

Food was good. Service was horrible. I never review restaurants but they rubbed me the wrong way to the point where I did feel like saying something. I sat at the sushi bar for omakase service. The courses were few (definitely not worth £110 for the super basic and small amount they served). There is no in-house sommelier, when I asked for a wine recommendation, I received a half hearted answer. No one asked me about allergies, I was served a dessert with dairy in it & im lactose intolerant. Finally, they took away the last plate and let me sit there without even asking me if I wanted the check. Nearly 30 minutes later someone finally gives me my bill after me asking for it. It took them another 10/15 mins just to take my money. It wasn't busy, the restaurant was not fully filled. I won't be visiting again. read more

I came to the bar here last weekend with friends on Saturday night. The lounge upstairs was quiet and empty, but the bar in the basement next to the restaurant was very busy and initially it was hard to even get a table. They take your order the table and it wasn't too long of a wait, as there are a lot of staff always walking about. The menu has some Japanese inspiration with sake and Japanese whisky, but we went for the cocktails, which were about £14 each. I'll be really interested to see how a place this nice does in Shoreditch! read more

Beautiful design and ambiance (similar to Roka), but still some kinks need to be sorted out. Service was pretty slow, and music was a bit too loud to talk to folks at our table. We went on a Tuesday night and it was busy but not crowded. The food was ok, but a bit disappointing. Some things were tasty (rock shrimp, king crab ponzu) but some things (like soft shell crab roll and tuna roll were very mediocre, especially for the prices and taste you expect from Nobu. Also, Our table was physically too big, we were a party of 6 and felt so far apart from one another. I think it'll take time for the restaurant to adjust, since it's so new. Probably better to go here with 2-3 people, rather than larger groups. read more
