Yaki Udon with Chicken, Yaki Soba
    Emily L.

Plenty of tables inside, so there was no wait around lunch. Service was decent and they were very accommodating for allergies. Not the best Asian food I've ever had, but the Yaki Udon was flavorful with curry and had a variety of vegetables. Portions were pretty large and the menu had lots of different options, like ramen, rice bowls, and fried noodle dishes.

A pleasant surprise Having lunch at Wagamama was a pleasant surprise. I expected to find more touristy food as we were tourists in a tourist area, but instead I got to enjoy some great ramen. I got their Tantanmen Beef Brisket and it was visually beautiful, a large hot bowl of noodles, broth, and other ingredients circling around on top. With my chopsticks and that oddly shaped spoon, I went to work until I reached the bottom of the bowl. The food had arrived quickly, in about 10 minutes. We were on a tight schedule, a lunch break between tours, and had let our server know. I assume this is common at this location and they got us in and out with time to spare. I did have a problem with their QR code method of paying when my bank wanted to text me a verification code and I had replaced my US SIM card with a local one upon arriving in London. That problem was quickly solved when one of the staff got a POS machine and let me pay that way. I see there are several Wagamama restaurants in the area. Wish we had one where I live.

Short: Relatively Fast, filling, and super tasty. Hit the spot. Amazing location. (Visited early June 2022) I came in about 20 mins before they were closing. Due to, having an evening stroll by the tower bridge and the Tower of London. I was very happy they still served me, especially since I barely ate that day. I ordered the Spicy Chicken Katsu Curry, Prawn Yakisoba, Gyoza, and the Cherry Blossom lemonade. The food was hot and very fresh. However, out of my whole order, the yakisoba arrived first and the gyoza last. The Katsu curry was super filling and pretty spicy, was really happy about it, and tasted pretty authentic. The yakisoba did have a good selection and amount of stir fry vegetables. But I wished they used different noodles and put the sushi ginger on the side. The ginger is usually meant as a palate cleanser. From my assumption, I understood they had it as a refreshing and colorful garnish. I really loved the gyoza and dip. However, there wasn't much consistency in terms of the frying. I will say this was due to ordering them whilst they began cleaning up to close. The lemonade is a signature, and it is super refreshing as well as delicate. This was my second time eating at a Wagamama. Wagamama is a personal favorite now, thanks to their spicy chicken katsu curry and the cherry blossom lemonade.

What a pleasant surprise finding this fast casual Asian fusion restaurant right across from Tower of London. We have a kid who is a picky eater but he loves rice and I am restricted in my diet, too. We all found suitable items offered on the menu. I ordered brown rice and all of the sides or "ban-chan" in Korean. Sides included Japanese pickles, hot peppers, kimchi, miso soup. The service was excellent. Our server made sure the menu accommodations were clear and brought out exactly as specified. I wish there were more places like this in Seattle.

This is now as chain as chain can be. I've been to this Wagamama many years ago, perhaps when there was no store to be found in the US. Now, i feel like the quality has gone down the chute. Service is slow to non existent, and if you're not a fan of shared communal tables - then you're gonna not enjoy this place. I got the cocounut curry dish with chicken - and I basically go 3 pieces of minuscule shreds of chicken with loads of veggies and rice that was slightly on the crunchy side. I'd say Mehhh to this place - there's plenty of other options in this area.

Came here after visiting London Tower. Very nice view as it sits across from the London Tower and is close to the river too. There are no booths and instead there is open seating. I ordered the Steak Bulgogi Teppanyaki. Food came fast and was very good.

    Buns & dumplings!

This Wagamama location offers tired tourists at the Tower restorative bowls of ramen, tasty dumplings and cold beer. We'd eaten here 10 years ago and liked the concept - quick, pretty cheap, pretty healthy and tasty. It was nice to see things really hadn't changed. Tables are long and will be communal during busy times. There's a full bar menu, or you can order tea, sake or fresh juices and smoothies. I wasn't starving so I had an order of chicken steam buns & steamed dumplings. Both were fresh and full of flavor. If you want extra heat, they offer spicy chili oil along with a spice powder. I used both, no regrets. The Mister had a ramen and our friend had a curry - both were happy with their choices. If you're at the Tower and need a break you can do much worse!

Place is so cute! We love the food! We ordered appetizers, noodle and rice! Service was fast and staff members were very friendly! Kids loved their teriyaki over rice; and we loved our appetizers and the bulgogi over noodle. We all ended up sharing!

    Pork in a soft shell

We tried the pork ramen and also beef ramen and enjoyed them both. The ramen did have some spicy to it; about enough to make your lips tingle kind of thing. I also tried the pork in the soft bun and found it to be very savory. Cool online payment checkout option and great service. Loved the music volume as you could converse with it on.

    Duck Donburi

Wagamama, although you are a chain restaurant I do see uniqueness in your menu. There are a lot of fun sounding items on the menu that makes my mouth water. Two items that caught my attention that particular night was the Lollipop Prawns and the Grilled Duck Donburi. The Lollipop Prawns were so good I actually hesitated in sharing with my friends. The Grilled Duck Donburi was not a disappointment either. It came with shredded duck meat, mixed vegetables, topped with a sunny side up egg and a side of kimchi. Even though it's a donburi it was more like a bibimbap in my opinion. My friend ordered the ramen and was disappointed because the soup was not warm enough. The prices are reasonable considering the location. They're right next to Tower Bridge and the Tower of London. If you get seated next to the window you can get a beautiful view of both of those landmarks. The downfall of this particular Wagamama location is their service. The host was great but the waiters are very inattentive. It must've took around 15 minutes before the waiter came over to take our orders. Even after our orders it took him a long time to get our beverages. How long does it take to prepare green tea? The waiter also never cared to check up on us to ask if we were satisfied with our meals. Even when it was time for the bill it took awhile before we could wave him over to our table. Wagamama I definitely like your food but the lack of customer service usually leaves a "bad taste" in your customer's mouth.

'Asta' (as I like to simply call it) - I have no idea of the '3' moniker, or indeed where the first…read moretwo went - is as genuine a Japanese canteen as you'll find in London. I was lucky enough to, along with a colleague, be taken here on several occasions for a quick lunch by a client (indicative of how welcoming the Japanese are!) By 'genuine' I mean no dumbed-down menus, no super-slick interiors to detract from potentially average food, and no gimmicks of any kind. The place is staffed and run by Japanese nationals as any self-respecting Japanese restaurant should be - and perhaps more importantly, frequented by them regularly, too. Service is smiling and attentive and no more that it needs to be. The food is inexpensive (~£6-8 for a bento, £7-11 for ramen, udon or donburi) and so tasty. On my most recent trip I had beef ramen with tan tan (sesame paste) soup base, and my brother had salmon teriyaki on brown rice. Both dishes had generous proportions of meat/fish, and the donburi came with a side salad and pickles. The unagi (eel) is also lovely, and the place does an extensive line in pick-your-soup base noodle bowl dishes where you have the option of shoyu, miso, and sesame as mentioned above, among others. I can't speak for the takeaway bento, but they looked pretty solid and of a decent quality. Drinks come in the familiar (Coke etc) and the more, um, 'traditional' - aloe vera juice, Pocari, cold bottled green and black teas and others. This place is rather hidden away on the fringes of the City, behind Aldgate station on the Petticoat Lane side. In many ways it's a great location as it's very much a local haunt, and in others a little frustrating as even if you're working in the City it can be a fair walk to get there and back! My advice would also be to get there early (between midday and half-past) to ensure a seat, as well as before some of the more popular items on the menu disappear. In brief summary, I couldn't really recommend this place enough if you're in the area. You'll get multi-kudos from any friends Nippon friends (or appreciators of their incredible cuisine) and have a lunch to beat the hell out of an uninspired sandwich / soft-drink combo whilst spending a similarly scant amount of your hard-earned cash. As your fellow diners would say: "itedakimas!"

The waitress was really nice and was checking up on us several times. The pork in the ramen was super tender, had a little sweetness to it and tasted great! I liked the miso broth but I usually prefer the classic shoyu broth. The noodles weren't too flavorful and I didn't love how they put spinach in the ramen.. but the overall it was different than your classic ramen, which was good. The shrimp tempura was great and you get 6 pieces; it was light and flavorful! He was not particularly friendly and did not apologize for the wait, but did help us place our order and mentioned that food would arrive as it was prepared. Food service was prompt after that with robata items coming out quickly (~6 minutes after ordering), followed by the arrival of salad immediately after finishing the robata. This consisted of the choices of either rice or noodles (which based on how good the noodles were, I'd say actually would work as an option on their own) then you can add chicken katsu for a £1 (or a double portion for £2), plus breaded prawns and veggie gyoza. I had the chicken katsu with udon noodles, plus some gyoza. All very reasonable for £7. This was topped off with Japanese mayonnaise and seaweed. This was excellent, and a very decent portion. The chicken was the sort of katsu you always want - it was pre-sliced, making it very easy to eat on the go from a box. It was evenly cooked, so no part of it had dried out as you sometimes get in a Asian themed restaurant that does a Chicken katsu Armadillo, and was very well seasoned. The noodles themselves were great, although they were fried on a hot plate, they didn't dry out or go crunchy, but instead were firm with a very pleasant texture. So overall, very good. Far better chicken than Wagamama's, and so much better than you get at Wasabi.
