This ended up being the highlight of our trip! Our kids were a little nervous at first but it turned out to be super easy and the best way to watch the fireworks while taking in everything Waikiki has to offer. Turtles even swam right up to our boards! The staff captured amazing photos of our family, they were fun and friendly. Don't sleep on this adventure when you're in town.

This was an experience that made us wonder why we had never done it before! We have seen the Friday night fireworks from so many places over the years and we all agree this was our favourite by far. We will be doing this again and recommending to all our friends and family. Thank you team for such an amazing experience, we will be back!

Phenomenal experience!! If you only book one thing in Oahu, make it THIS! You will not regret it. Our guide Chad was truly amazing. He was a wealth of information, genuine, warm, and patient. We were so fortunate to find the beautiful sea turtles thanks to Chad's knowledge and expertise. The cost was very reasonable, especially since the experience felt priceless We were on the water for 90 minutes, which was just perfect! Look no further for your perfect Oahu adventure!!

Long Overdue. This is our 3rd time paddle boarding with Nocturnal Adventures, and each time is always an excellent experience. Chad is such a cool and easy going guy, with a very positive attitude. He explains things very thoroughly, and as a 3rd time "rookie" paddle boarder, I was able to regain muscle memory. We were led to an area where sea turtles swam right by us, and bobbed their cute bald little heads. Chad very kindly took several quality grade photos of us, so we didn't have to fumble with our selfie stick. Lastly, witnessing the fireworks that up close and personal was striking, impressive, and forever ingrained in our minds. Chad you deserve 10 plus stars, you've made this such a memorable experience, an adventure worth coming back to. See you again next year, mahalo!

    The lights are fun.

This is a must do adventure in Hawaii! My girlfriend and I happened upon Chad, who was going out with a group on Saturday night. We asked for availability and he said we could come out on Sunday night. We are so happy that we did this. Out of all of the adventures we did do parasailing, swimming with dolphins, and Swimming at Waimea Falls. This was the best and most fun adventure. Chad is a patient teacher so even if you don't know how to paddleboard, you can always sit on the board and paddle. He made the whole adventure wonderful with his awesome personality. I highly recommend this Adventure to all.

Beautiful beach, beautiful sunset, beautiful evening

My cousin raved about an experience in the North Shore where he went paddle boarding at sunset and saw so many sea turtles. Unfortunately he could not remember the name of the tour or company, as it was several years ago. I am convinced his experience was with Nocturnal Adventures Hawaii. I won't lie - I was a bit apprehensive at first upon landing on the "budget friendly" website, but the reviews were nothing but stellar so I decided to take the risk. SO worth it! We did several excursions over the weekend including snorkeling and UTVs, yet this was by far the best and most magical experience. We saw several sea turtles and they swam right up under our boards! I wish I had photos to share, but I only have videos and can't figure out how to upload them on Yelp Chad was so awesome - so incredibly kind and also super funny :) We were staying in Waikiki and made the trek up for the sunset SUP and I highly recommend everyone to do the same. Thank you, Chad, for an incredible experience, for the delicious refreshments afterwards, and for the beautiful photos! Can't wait to do it again upon our next visit!

My family and I just returned from our Hawaii trip. When we were staying in Waikiki, my cousin recommended a Friday night paddle board experience with Chad and his company, Nocturnal Adventures Hawaii. I'm so glad we took my cousin's recommendation. My daughter and I had a blast! Even though we arrived at the meeting spot by the pier early, Chad was already there with the paddle boards ready to go. There were eight of us gathered for this adventure, which was a good number. Chad explained exactly how the paddle boards worked and how to use the paddles. If you wanted to stay seated on the paddle board, he explained how to do that. If you wanted to try standing up on it, he explained how to do that. The paddle boards we used were very stable and had LED lights underneath so you could see the water below you. You could even change the color of the lights if you wanted. While we were out in the water, Chad also provided so much info on things to do and places to eat on the island. It was like having a personal concierge out in the water! While we were out on the water we enjoyed the fun of paddling a good distance down the beach and back. We were thrilled to see several turtles with one swimming right underneath me and then coming up for air just a few feet away. When the time approached around 8pm, the fireworks went off! What an experience. We were out on our paddle boards, in the water, the LED lights lighting up the surrounding water in a variety of colors, and the fireworks bursting in the sky above us. Amazing! When we go back, and we will go back, we're definitely booking this experience again with Chad.

If you are planning on visiting Oahu and happen to be there on a Friday, please book Chad's Friday night fireworks tour. I cannot recommend this enough. My family spent almost a week on the island, and unanimously agreed this was their favorite experience (you're welcome for finding this experience, family!). Chad is supremely helpful when it comes to learning how to paddleboard. This was my first time on a paddle board, and with his direction and cues, I was able to stand up and sit down whenever I felt like it. Good balance and leg strength helps prevent you from falling in. He warns you at the beginning of the tour to essentially not take anything out on the water you're prepared to lose, and please heed this warning. Someone in my group brought their prescription sunglasses out, wiped out trying to stand up on the paddleboard, and now they forever live at the bottom of the ocean in Waikiki. Watching the sun go down over the horizon as you're paddling around feels like the highlight of the experience, but it isn't! After the sun goes down, the paddle board lights come on, and most likely you'll see sea turtles swimming around. If you're lucky, they'll swim directly under your board! A little bit into sundown, the Hilton resort on the beach starts their firework show and you have an incredible front row seat from your paddleboard. I will forever treasure this memory. On top of everything, Chad is also super agile on his board and takes incredible photos of you and your group so you don't have to worry about dropping your phone in to capture this beautiful moment. He also has plenty of island recommendations if you want to pick his brain for food or activities. This experience was truly the highlight of our entire trip and I highly recommend booking this tour and thank you for everything, Chad!

The Friday Fireworks paddleboarding adventure is a must to try while in Hawai'i! The paddle boards had LED lights on the bottom, which made it so much cooler to see the clear waters. While paddleboarding, we saw sea turtles and watched a 10-15 minute firework show. I definitely believe you should experience this activity at least once while in Wakiki. There's lots of food in the area at a very walkable distance. My partner and I had never paddle boarded before, but Chad is a great instructor and made it very easy to follow. Chad is not only a great instructor, but he took amazing photographs of us! Thank you Chad for all the recommendations spots for us to try and for keeping us stationary while watching the firework show. p.s. we were running a bit late coming from North Shore area, but Chad was extremely understanding and helpful throughout our journey to get to him.

For this trip, we wanted to bring our 8 year old out to try paddle boards. We went out and saw a bunch of sea turtles, and a spectacular sunset. We had so much fone doing the thursday SUP that we decided to go back out again on Friday to watch the fireworks. From the sea turtles a foot away to the fireworks, to dad accidently tipping us over trying to stand, there were a ton of unforgettable experiences. I can't thank Chad enough. Absolutely reccomend.

Sunset SUP trip adventure makes for epic family memories.

Chad is caring, hardworking and good at what he does. From the moment we set foot on the beach until we left the parking lot he made our outing easy, safe and serene. Our family felt safe and confident navigating the water and we were all able to stand up with his expert encouragement. It was magical watching the turtles glide through the rainbow of color under our boards. Chad takes amazing photos too, so we could just relax and enjoy the adventure while he captured amazing family memories.

We paid via PayPal and met on Waikiki beach. He was a bit late since he had trouble finding parking. Mickey had the kids practice some moves on land and wax the boards before paddling out. 90 minutes for $100 each student plus $30 for videos. He paddled them forward with the waves and told them when to stand. The kids had a blast. The videos from his go pro were amazing! A totally rad experience that the kids will remember forever. Mickey was great with the kids. He is super friendly and sang a bunch of songs to them. We highly recommend him. Be sure your kid is comfortable in the water and knows how to swim well. As a local boy born and raised in Oahu, I'm embarrassed by the fact that I cannot swim. Surfing clearly out of the picture. I used to work in the Japanese tour agency many blue moons ago where I recall a surfing school that offers surfing lessons. My friend already knows how to surf so I didn't think this was for him so I asked one of my physical therapists who surfs regularly. He introduced me to a surfing school that's at Ala Moana Beach where I was given their website, which is also available in Japanese. I forwarded the information to my friend prior to his arrival to Honolulu where he didn't jump at it and said he'd think about it. On his arrival I drove him to his hotel on Kalakaua Ave and upon check in we saw a rack of surfboards nearby where I asked if they were rentals. The staff advised the boards belong to the in-house guests who were keeping them as storage while not in use. When asked about rentals, the front desk staff advised us to inquire with Moku Hawaii (MH) as their rates are 1/2 to what the businesses are asking for across the street on the beach. MH has been in business since 1985 where they hail from Japan. They started off as a clothing company but transitioned over to a surf shop offering surf lesson and rental business. We walked over and soon found MH, which is on the 1F at the corner of Koa Ave and Uluniu Ave. We were greeted by a friendly, young female staff who welcomed us and answered our multiple questions. With its locality, reasonable rates and customer service, my friend liked MH and decided to look no further. While checking out their inventory, my friend noticed hard boards and was hoping for soft boards. The staff guided us to those soft boards where it's available in either long or short. You will need to complete their rental form which to our surprise is quite flexible. For example, you can initially request for a 2 hr package but in the event you go overcast, you just pay the difference of $5, which is the price difference between 2 hr course and the next course of up to 4 hrs. MH gives back to the community as they sponsor multiple local keiki surf contests. That's so awesome. So, if you should be in a bind where someone asks you for a surf school in Waikiki, look no further and guide them to MH. We were surprisingly impressed with their surf shop and their amazing customer service. They open from 6am and close at 8pm
