I opted for the Essential Manicure, which covers everything a US mani normally comes with - massage, cuticle care, file, polish and shine. I couldn't quite find the shade I wanted and kept saying, "A slightly redder, lighter oxblood" so Lien pulled out a few shades and tested a few on my nails. She also suggested making our own shade by doing a red base with a darker top... And she nailed it! (Heh) I would have never thought of it and it sounds silly to get so excited but I've just never had anyone nail this color before! (Yay all the puns!) I love my nails and will definitely come back to see Lien again before I leave. :)

The selection of colours available is insane...I am not over exaggerating when I say it took me about 20 minutes to decide on what colours to go for (which is shocking when you consider I chose a nude pink)! Luckily, I had an ice cold lilt ( Served in a coconut cup) to sip on while doing so! As for my gel nails, I am delighted and will let the photo speak for itself! The only thing that bugs me is that the gel takes forever to dry so I ended up with a smudge or two, but that's my own fault! Her coworker, Dominika, was also very sweet and even helped me with getting a bus card. While they were able to fit me in for a walk-in, I think it was just perfect timing. They seem to have a steady flow of appointments so I would try calling ahead just in case. If I'm ever in Dublin again, I will be back!

My manicurist was nice, but my friend's was inpatient and annoyed. My biggest issue was that the tools they used were not sterile! They used the tools on my hand and then sprayed them carelessly with a bit of mystery spray, not even covering the whole tool. Then they put it back in the tool bag, seemingly to be used for another person. Nail salons should be properly sterilizing their non-disposable tools to prevent infection. My nails do look nice, but I do not recommend going to this nail salon.

There is usually only 2 or 3 girls at work here, and the manicures I get always last quite long and are done really well with massage, clipping, cuticles, buffing, filing and polish. They also let you pay before the treatment I find is a good idea and what every other nail salon should opt for. The staff are nice, they don't really talk to you or anything, but I prefer than anyway. There is a TV at the back always showing a movie, last time I went it was The Devil wears Prada, which helps pass the time. They don't do all those luxury spa pedicures and things you would find at bigger salons since this is just a booth in Jervis, but if you're looking for a quick mani, then it's good. They also offer 20% discount on appointments before 11am.

There were three nail techs on duty when we arrived and we were seen quickly. My technician was nice, but very yawn-y and sigh-y, I asked her if she'd had a long day, and she replied that she'd only just started, but was just "kinda knackered", which isn't really what you're looking for!! That said, she was really good, there were lots of layers to paint and in-and-outing of under a UV light and she did a great job, my nails are so cute and girly today, I hardly recognise them! Plus it's supposed to last a fortnight, so hopefully that'll work, usually my nail varnish chips after an hour!! :-/ My main gripe is that they don't have a dedicated receptionist on-board, so if anyone has a question etc, they have to interrupt your manicure in order to speak to one of the staff... I was left while my technician went to sell a guy a gift voucher... The Shellac set us back e30 each, which is what you'd pay in a "real" salon. Our nails looked fab, and the tech my sister had was really nice, so it wasn't a bad experience, but it's not a salon experience, if that makes sense? They have a 20% discount on Thursday evenings til the end of September, which would be good value, as long as you don't mind people gawping at you while you're getting them done and potentially being interrupted by people making appointments etc. No frills, but gets the job done.
